Froyo AVRCP Follies

I am currently running stock FRF91 and am experiencing a very frustrating issue after upgrading to Froyo.
Prior to the upgrade when using a bluetooth headset, the foreground audio app claimed control of AVRCP and kept control, even when running in the background, until a different app was brought to the foreground. For example, if I wanted to listen to an audio book using the Ambling Audiobook player, I'd launch the player hit play on my headset and it would play. I could pause it with the headset and resume while the app was in the background or the device locked. If I wanted to listen to music, I'd be able to launch Mixzing or any other program and while it was in the foreground, hit play on the headset and the new app would have control of the headset and behave in the same manner as Ambling. This is how things are supposed to work.
Since upgrading to Froyo, the default media player grabs a hold of AVRCP and and will not release control. It doesn't matter what app is in the foreground. When I hit play on my headset, the default player launches. However, once it launched Google Listen and on another occasion Mixzing. I have not be able to replicate that behavior however. It does consistently launch the default player, except for the those two exceptions.
I am using a Jabra BT3030.
Any thoughts? This is really starting to annoy me.
confirmed with my phone too.
Of course what makes the behavior really weird are the two times where the default player did not retain control. However, as I said I've not been able to duplicate that.

[Q] How to stop mic button from starting media player?

I did several searches, but was unable to find an answer to this. I hope one of you can enlighten me
I recently installed the "Listen" app to listen to podcasts. When i plug in the stock headphones that come with the Captivate and then click the mic button on it, it will bring up & control the media player playback instead of Listen. Is there a way to configure the behavior of this button? Is there a way to keep it from bringing up the Media Player app and instead control the Listen app?
Thanks!
I've been having the same issue. I installed winamp, but I get the same thing.
I installed doubleTwist, and it looks like it properly takes over button so that the stock music player app is no longer launched. Does this mean Listen is not doing it right?

[Q] car mode and google music controls

Does anyone know if its possible to add google music to the HTC car mode app?
You can click the + and add the ICON but the controls do not work in car mode. They are stuck to just HTC music app.
Back on the htc one x you could go into music app and select google music so it would work in car mode but doesnt seem to be the case now.
Not sure if its just not possible at this point.
Thanks
Guess im the only one this bothers haha
The way Android music players work is whichever app was started last AND a song was started in that player it is now in control of the buttons..
so for example you can add the Google Play Music app to the car dock then go into it and play a song from that point on the dock's main screen it will still have control of the play and pause next and back buttons.
It will not be updated on the dock screen showing what the song is because that is part of the HTC music app but if you are on a car stereo via bluetooth for example, the song titles information are still played from the Google Music Player to the stereo..

Hey Guys -
Here's a link to my first app published in the Play Store. Looking for feedback, as well requests for supported music applications.

Stock Music Player pushes to the front (Bluetooth)

I'd like to use a third party music app (preferably Vanilla) but when I connect with my car by bluetooth the stock music player always auto starts playback. If I force quit the app the music sometimes continues playing even though the app isn't visible in the app list anymore. In rare cases I managed to force quit the stock player and get the third party player running (while my car system's display still showing the track from the stock player). Is that behaviour caused by my car system or is it the generic music app? Is there a way to disable the stock music app? The main reason to switch players is that I want one that has more features like integrated equalizer, swipe function and screen stay awake features. I know that eq and stay awake can be added by separate apps but thet's not what I call good usability.
