i have tvs in my car and i can connect anything to them via RCA cables. i was wondering if i can get my slingbox running via 3g connection on my tilt? is this a possiblilty? i figure my 200$ ipod can play videos, why not my 600$ pda/cell.
I dont believe so. Only option is to play from a pc via Active Sync and have pc go out to a TV.

And if you don't like the fact that you paid 600 for a SMARTPHONE that does not have video out, then you either should have done your homework or, bought one of those things call a cockphone no umm fagphone umm no no no balllickerphone no, thats not it, a imgayphone, damn i just cant think of it, its made my crapple i believe. There are two ways that I know of. One is with the Spectec SDV-841, which uses SD. I'm not sure if there is a way to adapt the product to other SD formats. You could contact the company.

whats up everybody?! i supposed to be getting money back from school from my pell grant and hopefully i will have enough to get me a new laptop or desktop. im a little confused on which one i should buy...which will be the better option and why?? hopefully i will get around $700

Overloaded pretty much said it had a laptop then realised it never left my desk so bought a desktop much cheaper than a laptop and no where near the spec. If you do get a desktop look into self building it, even today its much cheaper and not that scary for a first timer.
You just need to work out what you do with it.

Depends on what your gonna do. If most of the time you are stationary, then a desktop is the way to go but if your always moving (not at home) then a laptop is the best choice.

well when im on the computer all i do is browse the net, save and edit pics and videos and burn cd's and dvd's. i was leaning towards getting a refurbed Hp DV7z for $579 but i realized that the warranty is only for three months so now im looking at the DV6z directly from HP....is that a better decision for less computer?
Both are good, but if you've got a WM device you can easily take a lot of docs and other files with you in place of a laptop. But if you need to do a lot of work/school realted things on the go, laptop is the best, if not get a PC.

as said earlier Desktop- for more power or Laptop- for more portability! Though newer higher-end laptops can almost match desktop power, they mostly cost alot more and you can get lower-end desktops real cheap nowadays aswel. But in the end, in my opinion, laptop would give more ease and satisfaction! You cld get a decent one in on your bugdet!
Do you live at one place most of the time? If yes, get a PC. If you move around a lot, get a laptop.

Get a PC and a smarphone.
Do not get anything that is below laptop level - netbooks, smartbooks, tablets, umpcs, mids, etc. They all suck if you don't have a primary machine like a desktop or a laptop.

Laptop is convinient and you can take it to anywhere. But if you always play games or watch movies you'd better get a desktop.

maybe, BUT a laptop which costs about 700$ CANT !!!

can it do some massive visualisation - NO
can it handle 20 pages opened in Opera browser + windows media player + a game running in background - NO
but of course there are possitive aspects of it like:
Can you sit with it, in a lap on our bed - YES
Can you sit with it in a bus stop, with a hope that someone wont gop-stop (steal ) it from you - YES
I am trying to use WP connector for mac but its seems to be working oneway from Phone to Mac.
I wonder if anyone knows how can i use it to sync music and photos from mac to phone ?

I did it earlier. I started up the Windows Phone 7 connector and it told me to connect my phone and I did. From there it works almost exactly like iTunes. It will sync any of the playlists you made in iTunes to the phone. Of course if you have no playlists in iTunes... then it might not work.

Well i do have the playlists and it is not even syncing photos as well.
I want to know if there is a way that I can tranfer all my files from a MAC to my phone. I used to plug my HD2 in and it would pop right up like a folder on my desktop. WinPho7 wont do that. I can not download anythign on my work computer, and I use the phone's storage every single day. All I have on my work comp is iTunes and it doens't show up like the iPhone would. This is very disappointing...
Vikramdhani, it won't sync photos if you don't have iPhoto 9 or above. I don't have it and mine won't sync either. So you have to update your iPhoto or wait until Microsoft releases an updated version of the Windows Phone 7 connector (which I'm not even sure will fix the problem, I'm just assuming they'd make it compatible with older versions of iPhoto.)

Thanks. i knew this is how it worked I had an iPhone before, and I can't download anything on the MAC, so I'm pretty SOL. It was my biggest drawback to upgrading to the HD7. Second would be multitasking. But I figured the rest was worth it. i was tired of soft resetting my HD2 2-3 times daily. I'm just hoping the developers come out with an app that can turn the phone into a mass media storage like the HD2 or G1. I used those as my "iPod" in my car thought my stereo too.
Not sure if that's even possible on the HD7 but I would GLADLY pay for this app, and that says a lot for me as I normally never buy apps.

I hope you know that it is not a IOS connector but Mac OS connector seems like it was a hardware or software issue on the phone i had, guess what i returned it back to TMobile
I got the connector working no problem but of course it took forever to drop a couple thousand tracks the first time. My problem is it seems to try and update all 2k tracks when I plug it in attempting to snag a couple of new albums. Is there anyway to make it only capture the new albums and not try and run the stupid slow update all sequence?
Driving me nuts I had it running for almost 45 minutes and it was only 75% complete...FOR 2 fraggin albums I wanted to add...Man I honestly really like the new OS and phone but Microsoft didn't do themselves any favors with this dumb sync system. Let me drag and drop what I want, KISS!!!

Hi all. Just curious if anyone has had success syncing Winamp over Wifi as it claims it can. I've tried on two phones and now the Gtab and all I ever get is FC. Plays local media well, but when I go to the "Enable Sync" is settings.... BOOM! FC.
No one?! No body has used Winamp before?
I haven't tried on the most recent version, but I was able to associate the tablet and use sync without any issues when I tried.
This was about three weeks ago, so probably five different firmwares and one Winamp revision ago.
I'll try it again tonight and see if it's still working.
winamp on windows crashes on me after only a few songs but I do get some.

It works great on my Nexus One, haven't tried the Gtablet yet. For reference my PC is running Windows 7 Professional x64.
Are you trying to use your gtab as a wireless remote to play your music on your computer, or play your music from your computer on your gtab over wifi?
If you are trying to use your gtab as a wireless remote I have a pretty cool solution that I use all the time (not with winamp though... sorry). My htpc is connected to my stereo / tv and I sue the gtab as a wireless remote for my music.

I'm on W7 x86. Not sure what the issue could be. Perhaps I didn't set it up properly on the PC side.

I simply want to sync Winamp to the GTab as the app states it can. I'll have to verify the PC setup I guess.
I had to do some tweaking, rebooting and other stuff but I was eventually able to get it to sync to my Sprint Hero and GTablet. I'm on whatever the latest Winamp is now, Win7 x64 Home Premium, and I could get my PC to see both the devices fine; just sending files was the problem. It ended up being that you have to have both the auto-mount AND sync enabled for it to actually send files. Found that on the Winamp forums.
So if you're having a problem just getting it to enable the syncing on your phone, I cannot help. Sorry.

I installed it on my GTab from the market - hit the wi-fi tab in WinAmp and it discovered my SeaGate NAS storage and grabbed all the music from it with the only issue being a couple of Album covers are wrong. I am running TnT Lite 3.1.4...

I had been using Winamp for quite some time now. But only running a international radio with no problem.
I love the winamp app, works like a charm! Today I tried the wifi-syncing option, but it won't work on my X10i. Milestone works perfectly, but with my X10i, Winamp can't even recognize it as my X10, just a wifi android device. And it keeps telling me I don't have enough free space, even worse, it tells me 0MB (0%)/0MB... Anyone else having this problem? Couldn't find anything on the web about this problem
I got it to work fine.
Have synced both over WiFi and USB. Seems a bit slow.
One thing I wish they allowed you to do is select the destination for the synced files. I want to put my media on the external SD.
I might post something on their support forum about that.
Deleting pmp_wifi.ini from %appdata%/roaming/winamp did the trick for me when my pc couldn't discover the winamp on my android. After restarting winamp on your pc, you should be able to see and pair with your devices.
Thanks for the "enable auto-mount" trick! My winamp would get stuck after a few songs. Looks like it's going for the whole 12 gigs now. :laugh:
Edit: winamp crashed again, even with automount enabled. Still searching for a solution..

truthfully if I wasnt locked into a contract for 18 months I'd throw this phone in the canal.
Out of the box it's complete and utter tripe nothing works on it, it lags between apps, bluetooth crashes phone, can't connect it to PC, couldnt update the software etc etc utter utter rubbish.
I finally updated the software to 2.2 via the 02 stores 'Tec Guru' yesterday. I thought 'great at least the phone will work now'. I was wrong.
It still is completely unrecognised from the PC, it just says 'connecting' when I run Kies and hangs there like it did before I updated to phone software.
I can appreciate if your tec savvy it may be an easy problem to sort but for the average person this phone is a complete joke, I hate it I really f***ing hate it.
Honestly how does anyone think this phone is good? all I want to do is put some music on it, I may as well learn how to do a full MOT on a 88 Ford Fiesta it would be easier then overcoming the non stop hurdles this damn stupid phone throws at you.
Samsung suck, this is the most bug ridden overpriced tablet of ****e I've ever seen.
I've tried everything to get this tab of crap working, it doesn't, it's a shower of crap. If anyone knows how I get a PC to recognise and connect to this turd of a phone I'll be your webs slave for an hour and write out your emails etc.

you could have simply asked
"How do i connect the phone to the PC to transfer Music files?"
without the need for all that extra colorizing decor around it
first make sure the Drivers are installed
You'll need to either download Samsung KIES, or download Android SDK from Google
reboot the PC / MAC
then connect the phone to the PC or Mac, make sure it's connected directly to the computer and not through an USB HUB
once connected slide down the notification screen, and select the option to MOUNT USB
After that just drag and drop the files music you want to carry on the phone
An even easier alternative
just put the music into a microSD card
then put the microSD card into the phone
Thanks for advice, apologies for my venting earlier just had enough of all the problems this phone throws at me.
Right best I can do is connect the phone to the PC via mass storage, my PC does now recognise the phone after finding the USB drivers finally.
I have drag and dropped music into the download folder of the phone, I've disconnected from USB and the music is on the phone so that's good.
Is this best I can do considering Kies doesn't recognize the phone?
I have hundreds of seperate MP3's that I'd like to make into specific playlists on the phone. Would I be able to do this via mass storage considering Kies doesn't work?
Finally, can someone recommend me a video playing app that plays MKV files if possible? If that's not possible just the best video player app in your opinion as the standard one on the phone kinda sucks.
