droid 3 just stays at the startup screen. - Motorola Droid 3

When i turn my phone on now it just stays at the red eye startup screen. I thought i heard somewhere of holding the power button down and x but when i do that a little android guy and a triangle with a exclamation point comes up. Any help would be very appreciated. I do have a rooted phone.

1) Do you know what you did to cause this? You must have changed something to make this happen.
2) Can you get this to work?
If you answered yes to both, you can fix the phone. Otherwise, put on your shoes and head to the nearest VZW store.

did a phone reset and went into titatium backup pro and im all good now, thanks for responding

[Q] [HELP] I think I bricked my nook...

I had just updated to the newest update, the 1.0.1 update so I decided to use the auto-nooter. I did it and I got my nook to boot up, I followed the instruction up until the part where it location services. I turned them on, but when the android set up was complete it had the option to send me home, or softkeys. I pressed home and was put right back into the nook color home screen. I tried pressing the software buttons, but they didn't do anything. The status bar wasn't letting me go anywhere, it wouldn't even let me go to the menu. I clicked the "n" on the bottom of my nook and and nothing happened. So after a little bit I just decided to turn it off, this was my mistake I think. I thought since I had already been through the Android setup, the one that is on phones, I thought I could. Now Whenever I plug it into a computer or the charger the green "n" comes on but not the yellow one. I guess all I want to know is, is it bricked or not? It looks like a brick to me. Is there anyway to restore it? All help will be appreciated.
TL;DR:
I think I bricked my nook, any help would be nice.
***EDIT*****
Nevermind, it turned on after about 8 Hours of just leaving it plugged in. Maybe battery was dead? I had it fully charged though ?:/ anyways, mods feel free to delete or lock.
Did you remove the Auto Nooter sdcard?
What happens when you try to power it up?

Screen goes black/fixed/keyboard problem now

So I inherited a G1 that looks like its in good shape. But when I turn it on it briefly flashes a boot screen that quickly fades to black.
If I hold down the power and camera button it starts to boot, I let go of the power button and keep the camera button held down the screen will stay lit and I can see the fastboot mode. As soon as I let go of the camera button some other words flash on the screen and it dies again.
I looked through the forum assuming I could quickly fix this and have a new backup phone but this forum is now so advanced nobody seems to be having basic problems like this. And anyone who is still here seems to have lots more experience than me with this particular model of phone. Usually the stickies have an unbrick thread but I cant seem to find it.
I am sure this is something simple but if someone could point me in the right direction, or say the screen is burned out, I its bricked, or whatever you think it might be, I would appreciate it.
After more reading and discussing with previous owner, I think that the Camera and power button puts it into fastboot. (not sure exactly what that is yet)
From there it tries to install something from the SD card but fails.
The SD card contains DREAIMG.nbh and two empty folders. It seems to be trying to install something else besides DREAIMG but it fails so fast I cant catch it.
Is there something else I should place on the external SD card or perhaps a different version of the same file?
The previous owner also told me the G1 had been running CM6 if that makes any difference. ( I know it does on CM7 ).
I can get it to the screen with the three skateboarding androids (engineering spl indication? )but any time I let go of any of the buttons the screen fades right to black, making any further button pushing useless.
Any helpful hints? Anyone? Even a thread you think I should read completely?
I copied the DREAIMG.ngh to the desktop of my computer and reformated the SD card. After I bunch of button pushing and holding I managed to get it to hold on the HBOOT screen without going black. I pushed the trackball down and it reloaded the image apparently. Now it turns on and such but none of the keyboard buttons work and it says safemode in the bottom left corner. I will continue to read and search.
I cant find anything in this forum about safe mode. I am stumped.
The phone will boot and tries to get me to sign up for the gmail account but the keyboard only has the d, e, f, and x keys working.
The emergency dialer seems to work. I dialed my other phone with it and it said its not an emergency number and wont let it dial.
I am pretty sure this is not a lost cause here. There is just something I am missing. Could it be a bad flash from the DREAIMG.nbh?
Would it be possible to download a different image.nbh from someplace and try that?
Anyone have any ideas?
ok what are you trying to do exactly? i think your having trouble because the files on your sd... take them all off and see what happens??
can you boot into recovery? holding home+power??

Trying to get a functioning phone is all. I am comfortable fiddling with it , just dont know the process to go through.
I pulled the SD card and rebooted and its the same result. Little grey box in the bottom left that says 'safe mode' and it proceeds to the google account screen.
The touch screen works, and the trackball seems to. but Home and Menu dont so I cant even back out of the sign in screen.
Booting up with home+power gives me the triangle with the ! inside it instead of any kind of recovery mode like I expected.
Like I mentioned earlier, I believe it might be running CM6 but I am not even positive about that. I was told it was.
Any suggestions on my nextstep to get it into some kind of functoning state? I am willing to try anything suggested. New ROM or whatever.
I really thing its something simple, I just dont have any expreience with this model at all.
After more searching I guess the ! with triangle is the first screen of the recovery mode? But pushing Alt+L or Alt+I doesnt do anything.
I am used to the Galaxy S recover mode being all right there on the screen.
So next step would be......?
no wait you get the triangle and the !?? thats good lol that is the stock recovery mode.. so now i know what to work with when you get to that screen you can press alt+L and a list should pop up!!

Nothing, hold down Alt and then press and hold L. No changes.
The other odd thing is now when I do the camera+power combo it takes me to the welcome screen instead of the HBOOT screen. I was going to try reflashing the image on the external SD card and now it wont do that either.
The return+power combo also takes me to the welcome screen now.
The welcome screen is where I want to be except the 'safe mode' seems to be keeping the keyboard from functioning?
what welcome screen? lol
are the keys sticking maybe? lol

First I get the T-Mobile G1 screen.
then the Android guy
then the Welcome to T-MobileG1, touch the android to begin.
That all seems normal to me, except for teh grey box that says 'safe mode' in the corner.
So i touch the android and it moves to the Setting upp your T-mobile G1 screen and wants me to enter my account info, which I cannot do because the keyboard is not funtioning properly. Its almost like the image flash borked the keyboard drivers or something.

the d, e ,f , x keys are all working so I think its not a stuck key. no other keys seem to work though. nor the menu buttons.
would safe mode mean some of the drivers are disabled? kind of like on a desktop computer?
And if so, how to get out of safe mode?
uhhh i never even been on safe mode.. is the led blue while its on? my advice would be to unroot but you cant get recovery functioning properly so im not sure what to do.. do you know what radio and hboot you have?
does it go to safe mode when you just boot up normally?

Yes, safe mode shows in the bottom left corner of the screen when I power up normally.
I should have writen down what radio and such as I saw it displayed when I was in HBOOT and installing the DREAIMG.nbh file but I didnt think to.
Now I am either getting the Welcome to T-mobile screen or the first step of the recovery screen depending on the button combo I use.
But I am unable to proceed to do anything useful.

[Q] HTC Vivid Black Screen... :(

I don't really know what happened. When I press the power button my phone's screen lights just black then goes blank. When I press my buttons they vibrate but nothing happens. I've tried pulling the battery out several times, leaving it on the charge and all other kinds of things. It is just not working. Does anyone have the solution to this problem?
I'm not sure if this is the same issue..but along the process of rooting my rogers raider I encountered thus during a regular restart. I thought I bricked my phone but realize that the back light was just off and my phone was actually in the recovery menu. I put the phone under bright light and I could just barely see the headings in the recovery menu. It took some tilting and angling the phone just right to see it, but I was able to run a nandroid recovery and get back to a point before this happened. Once again, not sure if its the same thing but try tilting the phone around and using the volume keys to see if you can see the recovery menu in the blank screen.
Hope this helps

when you plug it in to charge, does the orange charge light come on for 4-5 seconds then go out again? have you tried to hold the vol down key and the power button to get into HBoot? If you can get into HBoot, you might be able to get into recovery.

Yes, that is exactly what is happening. I tried what you said but it is not working. My phone won't go into Hboot.
I think your battery isn't charging (at least that was the issue I was having). Your battery will only charge when the orange light goes on, and if it's anything like what was happening to me, when the orange light went off, that's when the buttons would vibrate. If this is the case, it may sound tedious, but you have to watch the phone. When the orange light goes off, push the home button several times and the vibrating will stop. Then you should see the orange light come on again to signify the charging state. It'll go off again after 4-5 seconds and the buttons will vibrate. Repeat the process of pushing the home button and letting the orange light come on and eventually, the phone should try and turn on. You can try and see if it'll boot, but mine never had enough juice to turn on. So I would pull the battery when the HTC Logo came up and repeat the process with the orange light. This time though, I would hold the vol down button knowing that when it tried to turn on again, it would load into the bootloader. I can't guarantee this'll work for you, but give it a go. What might make it easier is borrow a charged battery from someone and see if it'll load into the bootloader. That might save you from that tedious process.

help the charging light doesn't come back again.. vibration has stopped.. but still no charging light
help pleaseeee
Try different battery fully charged and see if your phone turns on. It it does then plug your phone for charging and see if charges.
Try connecting your phone with usb cable in computer and see if your computer recognize the phone.
there can be three issues.
1. Your battery is dead and won't charge
2. Your charging port on phone is not working
3. your phone backlight is not working.

EDIT: I have stopped looking for these threads. The more I look, the more I find. If the above threads don't convince you that there is a serious issue with the vivid, then adding more of the same problem will no longer help.
I have added this thread to a growing list of similar threads. Please read the other threads and see if your issues seem familiar.
From what I understand... Don't let your battery run out on this phone. Some Vivids kill batteries.
Solution? None yet.
1. Buy a new battery once a couple of months-ish, until someone figures out why some Vivids are eating batteries. YMMV
*OR*
2. You might invest in a external charger and see if that can bring the "Vivid munched" battery back to life. YMMV
I vote to thread merge the above threads if this proves to be the issue.
Hello
I hope to get an answer here to avoid a new thread. I was trying to return my vivid back to gb from ics. I had booted into the bootloader and i dont even remember at this point what i thought i was going to do. I think i got distracted. But anyway i pressed vol down to boot recovery because i was going to do a backup and i looked away from the phone for a minute and when i came back to it the phone was black screen. i hit the power thinking it was just on standby but nothing. I notice it was backlit on the screen but nothing would happen when i press anything. I pulled the battery waited a few min put it back and now totally black with no activity at all. no lights no vibrating no power on, no adb. I have played with a lot of phones and even iphones too so if this thing is fried i guess i will consider myself lucky that its the first ive actually killed out of probably 30 phones. I have searched and tried many things but i cant believe there is no way to recover it. I have recovered a lot of phones I thought I bricked before. any help is greatly appreciated. I was on ics and rooted. I also relocked the bootloader. (i was planning to go back to gb) I thought i had a recovery installed but maybe not. i posted in another thread that i was unable to get hboot by power + vol down method. i could only do it through the tool kit. so i dont know if any of that matters

I hope someone resolves this issue, I've messed with lots of phones. But this is really weird. But I got the same problem where all that happens is that there is backlight on but no boot IMG no HTC logo, no bootloader, recovery. Completly non responsive. At first it wouldn't even power on until I would unplug from a power source. Whether it was unpluging the charger or removing the battery. That's when the backlight would flash. All this happened in the process of flashing a PH39IMG.zip
Is there no other fixes for this? Anyone? Please

I once got stuck on the HTC screen (White background) and found out I could access the device in adb.
So, connect your phone to your pc and check if you can access it from adb (adb devices). If you can try get to the bootloader from here and see what happens (adb reboot-bootloader)!
And if you can access bootloader,
>If you need to get back to stock, get your carrier RUU, put rom.zip from it in an external sdcard and use reboot into hboot again, OR
>if you need a custom ROM unlock bootloader, flash a custom recovery (TWRP is cool) and you may use TWRP to install your ROM
I hope this helps... lets know...
I did mention I cant get it to recognize the phone. So no adb I tried all that before posting. Im afraid im just dead
So I am having the same problem. I eventually got it on yesterday but I turned off my phone and I am back to square one. Would using the vivid toolkit work to reboot to hboot? or am I stuck like this until i replace battery?
4 hours later I am back on!! never turning this thing off again
Had the same problem and just left the at&t store and its the battery. Once he exchanged batteries it worked fine

[Q] Frozen Static. Unsure What to Do

I woke up this morning to find my GS6 E in this state. I tried a force restart and booting into recovery and that nothing happened. I contacted Samsung and they told me to just send in the device, but I would rather keep that as my last solution. The device is not rooted and I did not make big changes that would have caused something like this. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
Attached is what my screen looks like.

Yea. Nothing works. Im going to bring it to Verizon tomorrow and try to get a new phone. Thanks though
Sorry bro, good luck.
... And the verdict is/was?
My S6 Edge now looks exactly like that, same horizontal lines, same split down the middle. It was sitting on a stand on my desk, not even charging and I hadn't touched it for at least 20-30 mins, suddenly it went like that and the front led indicator came on really bright, white with a tinge of red round the edge. Phone completely unresponsive in any way. Think it's knackered!

LG Watch Sport stuck in blinking screen

Hey guy. I have a problem with my watch. It is blinking the screen and I can't even enter settings. Only voice search works. I tried restarting it.
Is there a way I can reflash firmware without turning on adb ?
Here is a video showing the issue.
EDIT: I managed to enter recovery, but when I tap the green robot no options are available.
Wow! This just happened to my watch yesterday! I can't pull the video up, but my guess is it is the same thing - once it boots up, it just flashes on and off continuously. If I restart it, it just comes back up the same way. I cannot get into settings, I cannot connect to it from my phone, and I cannot perform a factory reset because the green Android in recovery mode has a red exclamation mark above him. It is completely dead.
And the best part - I am 37 days outside of the warranty period and LG wants to charge me to fix it. It is a $350 watch that barely lasted a year! Please, if anyone has any suggestions, please please please post here.
To fix it press top button + crown while in recovery. Wipe data/factory reset and reboot.
Im 99% sure it is caused by some update. Is your watch w280a too?
Thank you so much. Took a few tries of pressing top button and crown for my watch to boot into the reset option. Eventually got it right. Thank you so much. Saved me from a haveing a dumb expensive bracelet.
