Just wondering what you guys have tweaked on Master's rom (the one I currently love using) to make it run the way you like it.
I have:
1. Reverted the dialer to the stock by copying the dialertabactivity to /system/app using root explorer
2. Found and installed a working Wifi calling apk (the first 2 I tried had various problems no incoming voice etc.)
3. Changed the system font to something a little more standard looking.
4. Changed the browser setting to Autofit Pages, so that when you double tap or turn the phone to landscape/portrait the words reorder and are easily readable. Changed the text size in Email app to small so it doesn't look huge (default is medium)
Oh and if you use his rom and enjoy it as much as I do, donate to master. His work has been beyond awesome so far.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807116 (where I got the wifi calling from, using the one for htcvision)
I added the Black theme located (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=845530)
And a black Multi touch keyboard ( some where in the themes section )
Guess I'm kind of not using Axura lol.
I love the Aura for battery life & speed, but the default theme is fugly.
Anyone has a way to change the notification bar to more stockish?
Thank you and god for getting rid of that crappy dialer and the font..
worst thing that master did..
thank you so much
I very much dislike the dialer too, I like the stock original dialer. Going to try and install that. Also don't like the font.
One last thing, I very much like the android keyboard, where can I get the apk for it? I'm using the htc keyboard right now, but for the life of me I can't turn of haptic feedback, even though vibration and haptic is turned off everywhere.

The theme is the only thing keeping me from giving this bad boy a test drive. I hear good comments about it but don't like the theme, I am more into ASOP kind of roms/themes.

Luck is not on my side today. Tried replacing the dial apk with the one you provided, and it says I don't have enough space. I even deleted the one master provided, then went and tried to place the one you provided into system/app still says i don't have enough space. Huh?
One other thing, I don't like how the pull down notification bar is transparent, makes reading notifications in the pull down annoying when you see other stuff below it, will changing the theme change this to a non-transparent pull down?
Brand new axura user.
Wow, that dailer is indeed ugly.
Thanks for the stock version
You can also adb push the Dialer
One of the primary reasons I stuck with Axura over Macnut or Obsidian was the beautiful theme Master has put over it.
Why would you guys use Axura and then reskin it?
ya, i just went ahead installed the Font and selected it in the settings. Much better.
I also went ahead copied the provided Dialer app and put it in System/App - again much better.
Keep coming with your tweaks bud.
We like the animation however the font is not compatible to vietnamese and the dial is not looking good. Just my though

I like Masters roms the best. The affects are great, very smooth and very fast. I like his themes as well. Not sure why people don't like the dialer its different but that is what makes it nice.
I am wondering is there a way to get the drop down icons in the notification bar back from 2.0.3 I really like those alot better than the 2.0.5 plain icons.

Are you using root explorer? If so you just have to unzip the file and drop the apk into the /system/app directory. Make sure you are in r/rw mode when you tryo to copy it or it will not let you make changes in the /system/app folder. After that just reboot the phone. You do not have to install it. Any apk in that folder wil automatically work upon reboot. It should show up as the "phone" icon in the all programs menu.
The font is terrible. It is cool for about 5 seconds and then it is just annoying and hard to read. Makes you wonder if things you can't see are as screwy as the things you can see.
Thanks for posting an alternative

Yes using root explorer. yes I unziped the file first, isolated the dialer apk. Tried moving it to system/app while in r/w but to no avail. Says not enough space.
Is there a tweek for the radio?

Anyone know why?

Hi,
i would like to enable "always capital letters" - something like always caps lock on. This should work in messaging, e-mails, text editors and such programs. Is there any way to force phone that uses capitals always, or maybe change system font to some font that has only capitals?
there are fonts, check romtoolbox out.
Why would you want that thought? Also note, as other people dont have that font people will always see default fontm

I would need this because person i'm doing this for see very bad and it helps him that all letters are capitals.
For other it's not a problem. I need this to work only on this one phone. I'll check up this romtoolbox tnx
Romtoolbox or any font installer from Play Market with external file support. Just find a font that is capital only and copy it to your device, run the app and point it to the font. You can revert this anytime.
I have to remember that one. have you tried through settings then accesability menu and set the font size? That could help, It would eliminate accidental caps writing itself. Which can be handy, otherwise people could think he/she is mad all the time
I tried rom toolbox and it f***ed me I chose some font and when i rebooted Samsung keyboard was crashing all the time. I made factory reset and keyboard was still crashing so i had to push my rom (stock samsung) on the phone. It wasn't any problem because i have backups and stuff but it took me 20min for nothing.
So i found here on forum some "stock" fonts witch works perfect. If anyone needs it here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1717964
There is Venus font(all capitals) witch works in all apps and it is HUUUGE so it is perect for people with sight problems.
so sorry, never had that with romtoolbox. Glad you were able to find a suitable font, thanks for sharing
something is really wrong with rom toolbox pros font installer. I installed a font and it asked me to reboot. and it got stuck in boot loop . Had the same issue on ICS and on JB too
I reacently upgraded from GB 2.3.6 stock to CM 10.1 v.4.2.2.
GT-P1000 GSM Cyanogenmod 10.1 Jelly Bean v.4.2.2 Kernel HumberOS build alroger version.
I tried to go to a Sinhala Unicode website and they weren't visible. I had to look at ever annoying Boxes.
Then I saw a font by a user called Kalinga and I replaced that font with droidsansfallback.ttf.
I was able to view the fonts. But the previously known issue of Sinhala complex script rendering issue was there.
But I noticed that some of the rendering were not bad as the gingerbread days of mine. I used Fontomizer WikiAndroid bolt font with the stock ROM then. But the ෙ andො were coming after the font, not before it. Also, ක්*ර, බ්*, ම්*, ර්*, weren't rendered properly. But now the first issue of ෙ andො were solved. But the problem with ක්*ර, බ්*, ම්*, ර්*, were still there.
Then I tried a different font from this website . http://www.locallanguages.lk/sinhala_unicode_converters
I used Iskolapota font this time to replace the droidsansfallback.ttf
Holy God mama!. Everything is properly rendered. It's working like a charm.
Look for the attachments for screenshots.
I asked a CM10 guy on Xperia phone who runs CM 10 not 10.1 called Madushan (he is in XDA, look for my friends list) about his experience.
He was not able to achieve proper rendering with simply replacing droidsansfallback. He was also amazed. Then he guessed that Google might have done something to fix the complex scripting issue in 4.2.2 release. Samsung stock 4.2.2 devices are supporting Sinhala complex scripting as I heard. (S3, Note etc.)
Madushan has been able to get proper rendering using merged font version of iskolapota.ttf and replacing with robota and robota.ttf and some other fonts. But this is not for Galaxy Tab, it was a Xperia thing.
Anyhow my point is that the complex scripting rendering issue has been solved. What now?
Good IME input method for Sinhalese.
Universal CM Sinhala locale and UI.
Are you up to it? I am going to start a thread on Cyanogenmod development on these two issues.
Help me with this. Specially Cdesai HumberOS and Alroger Messrs.
Mensreaorder out!
P.S. what do you think Google might have done to make complex script rendering work?
you rock
thanks man. you saved my day. im using CM 10.1 . and it works perfect.
FINALLY A PERFECT SINHALA FONT FOR MY SAMSUNG. AWESOME .
thanks again.
is this font fix the issue on opera mini, where all letters are unreadable??
i will try this now.

Hi guys,
I tried Iskolapotha font but, that meant that a Times New Roman type serif font being used on the Android UI
This of course looks aweful. So, I tried out the sans serif fonts at
http://www.icta.lk/en/programmes/pli-development/104-local-languages-initiative-/625-unicode-compliant-local-language-fonts.html
They work equally well for Sinhala sites. But, the Enghish words still look crappy (bad kerning and all).
Does anybody know of a better option?
I wish there was an app level font setting. Then I'd just set the font for FB and a specific browser app.
Use SamsungSinhala.ttf!

Rename the iskpota.ttf to DoridSansFallvack.ttf
Copy and replace the /system/fonts/DoridSansFallvack.ttf with the new DoridSansFallvack.ttf file ( Use RootExplorer)

Hello everyone. Long time lurking first time posting. After running CM for a long time I decided to go back to the stock ROM for it's smoothness and stability. Of course in doing so I've given up theme chooser. :-/ So I've had to manually find inverted apps and replace everything which isn't that much of a problem except when it comes to contacts. I know when I originally ran the stock ROM I was able to locate a working inverted contacts for my device but I guess too much time has past and I haven't had the same luck. I've spent all weekend trying to find one...Searching the web, pulling from this ROM and that ROM, trying to make my own with only partial results. No luck. I've made no progress other than frustrating myself. So I fall upon the mercy of the forum and beg someone to please provide me an inverted contacts.apk for a Nexus S 4G running a deodexed JRO03R. Of course I have all of the prerequisits such as root and recovery and I've done a TON of searching both on and off the forum. Just because I'm a first time poster does't mean I'm a noob.
Funny timing! I have made a few ROMs before and I have tried so many Contacts apks to get contacts inverted. I actually can't find MMS either so I am going to try and find an old theme and try Metamorph app. I am using ExDialer with Dark ICS theme until I figure it out. I even went and added WiFi Tether added tons of inverted apps and toggles with Notification Toggle app and reodexed. I can't give up 4G tether. If I find one or can edit one I will post a link
I have a working inverted MMS with spit that I can post when I'm at home and on my PC. Provided I can get my post count high enough to post links. I can't remember the source though...Since going back to stock and trying so many apps and so many mods from so many sources it's all kind of became a big blur. I'm contemplating using a non-stock contacts for the time being but I like the vanilla Google apps so much, both in function and design. I just hate light holo and wish everything was dark.
Home and back on my PC. Here is the Mms.apk I promised. You'll have to add the first part yourself seeing as I haven't hit 10 posts yet. Everything works to my knowledge. Not one FC or error thus far. Sends and receives everything as far as I can tell. I always had a problem with CM sending and receiving photos but this one works. Incoming text is blue and outgoing is white. Main screen text is white, viewed texts are black to match the background, non-viewed are highlighted grey, and the count is silver. As mentioned it has split and Emoji support.
Sorry for the brief post before as I was at work. Didn't want to come off as a rude ****. My plans include re-odexing but not until I get past this one hang up. I also am using Notification Toggles amongst many other things. So far I've managed to find or create most everything blacked out including the framework so the menus and stuff are black. Also anything calling out for the default grey background gets replaced with black. Like Titanium Backup, Settings, or Root Explorer for example. Google wise I have inverted:
Email
Hangouts
G+
Voice
Drive
Search/Now (Whatever you want to call it)
Maps
Play Music
Youtube
Calculator (Actually the calculator from CM10 so there are more features. I've also added some other CM10 goodies that work like DSP Manager and Torch)
Calender
News and Weather
Google Settings
Play Store
MMS
And a bunch of other inverts such as my online storage sites or Pandora. I've modified and added so much I could go on for several posts. It's really only this last hump to get over until I feel my ROM is perfect.
I never thought about a morph theme...I thought about using the bits and pieces from my favorite theme to create my own invert but everything is XHDPI and I don't want to resize all of the images just to find out I F'd up again. I've also though about Xtheme seeing as how I'm already using various Xposed modules but I would rather not have to rely on a theme engine. I've successfully changed all of the images, bars, and text colors in one of my various attempts but the background remained white... I have no problem pulling apart apks, changing code, and stuff like that but my talents are a bit limited. I'm a hacker rather than a proper developer so it's more a bit of poking and proding then changing and hoping everything comes together right in the end.
* Moderators * Please don't get pissed at me for circumventing the no links until 10 posts rule. It is a safe apk I found on here somewhere and no spam links. It's a link to my personal Dropbox without any AdFly links or anything like that. Done so in the spirit of helping a fellow member of the community. When I get over 10 posts...Which I'm sure I will...I will fix the link.
Where did you get the inverted versions you have for 4.1.1 stock?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Xparent Gray Tapatalk 2
I honestly don't remember. I wish I did so I could give proper credit. I'm almost 100% positive it came from one of the graveyards on here but I've been around forums for long enough to know not to dig up corpses...Unless you enjoy fail and getting *****ed at by everyone. LOL I had to dig back through some ancient theads and lots of dead links for 4.1.1 stuff. It's obviously CM based but it didn't have a matching contacts. It was only the MMS.
I'm pretty sure when I originally ran 4.1.1 my inverted contacts came from a JusTunBean pack but I can find one existant mirror or link to an old 4.1.1 inverted installer. Pretty much everything I'm running now came from various sources that I've kind of lost track of. A lot of Team Blackout, a few other random inverts I found like Maps, some pieces of BlackBean like email, a little CM10, a few odds and ends like the SGS2 clock app or Nofication Toggles, some Xposed modules, a bunch of framework stuff like centering the lock screen clock or changing images like the pop ups or dots that appear around the lock, and some other odds and ends stuff like changing the lock handle in Phone.apk to match the lock screen handle that I changed in the framework. I just ghetto odexed my ROM for the time being with Titanium.
I'm at wits end when it comes to Contacts. It's either make my own somehow, hope someone provides, or switch to a contacts/dialer replacement like DW. I'm tired of searching the dark and dusty crevices of the net in hopes of finding a working inverted 4.1.1 Contacts or a live link to one. :-/
In my poking and proding I found out there is a lot more to inverting contacts than just image and basic color xml editing. When you decompile the apk there are styles.xml that seem to be calling out the Holo or Holo.Light theme but I don't full understand all of the values. One does not simply change all of the values from Holo.Light to Holo.
Yeah Contacts and Dialer are combined into the Contacts app. I managed to get everything else inverted as well. I am using exDialer Dark ICS theme for now until I hunt one down. It looks pretty good and works well
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Xparent Gray Tapatalk 2
Not bad. I decided to just say screw it and purchased DW. Pricey at nearly $10 but tons of features and it's pretty customizable so I don't have to rely on other's themes. I would post pics but this damn 10 post until links rule. I understand the necessity because of spammers and bots but it sucks being a legit new member. I don't see the point in circumventing the filter either for pics. The first time to share a file sure...But not just for pics. I'm not the type to post BS and gibberish just to get my count up either. I guess I should get involved in topics other than my own then re-visit my thread. I also changed email clients to Aqua Mail while I was at it.
Over 10 so now I can post pics. This is what I've got going on. I haven't played around with all of the options yet though. After paying $10 I probably won't be going back to stock.

Hello
I just updated my HTC One to 4.3 android.. It works perfectly, except one thing:
Before, when I type a text message, emoji would appear as soon as i type it, like semicolon and parentheses would instantly change to emoji.
Now, it stays as I type it - it doesnt get replaced by emoji.
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks!
I would assume that since there's more emojis (probably hundreds of them) and full iPhone compatibility, that's just one of the draw backs. Now between us and iPhones we can see and send full emojis in color, but as far as I know you have to use the stock HTC keyboard and hold down on the smiley button to access them.
And sending these emojis to other android it doesn't show up right, at least to my wife who has the same phone but on android 4.1.2 and sense 5 it showed up as an empty square.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
The smiley faces you had before updating that automatically changed when typing were not true emoji icons. 5.5 sense brought true emoji standard which you need to actually pull up the separate key layout list to use. This list is also fully compatible with ios and iPhones.

Yea, I mentioned that above. You can still see emojis everywhere, but you can't use them. I don't use them often so I use Swype, and when I wanna use an emoji I switch to the stock keyboard. It's not perfect, but it works.

So is there chance to change that to update automatically, as it was before? The thing is that all text messages that I receive and that are not sent with emoji but with regular typing - are shown as characters not emoticons...

You could download a different keyboard and/or sms app form play store or from these forums. e.g. a stock aosp android messaging app and keyboard. or one of the dozens of others out there.
But that doesnt actually display emoji's...
A lot of apps, i.e. sms apps, forums, websites, etc have made "their own" icons to display when you would type a "semi-colon and a parenthesis" together, for example. There was no standard here, it was all individual to the app.
Now, true emoji style icons, which is a standard baked into the Sense 5.5 ROM and IOS does not use the "semi-colon and parenthesis" type format.
Before, when using the "semi-colon parenthesis" style it was not "universal/standard" for example; I could use my "old sense 5" ROM and send a text using a "semi-colon and parenthesis" and on my phone it would convert it to a smiley-face (not an emoji) and I would send it to my gf who has an iPhone and it would show up as a "semi-colon and parenthesis" (not a smiley-face) because it was not a universal/standard way of doing it. TRUE EMOJI is a "standard" that works better and will allow us to see the icons between devices and not rely on individual apps to make up their own as in the past using "semi-colons and parenthesis" that were app specific.. This probably makes no sense to you but I gave it a shot, maybe someone else can explain it better.
I just would love to see some screenshots of this in action in 5.5

I understood you perfectly. But is it possible that software developers didnt keep that option to show smiley-faces. Thats a step backward....
No chance to "re-enable" that?
Thanks!
