Anyone know what the best software is for editing the .pngs ? Not the 9 patchs (i'm not messing with those at all). Just trying to theme the statusbar icons but it's really annoying and hard to do it pixel by pixel. I've been using paint.NET and Gimp. Tried using Photoshop CS5 but I'm a photoshop noob.

I use Corel Paint Shop Pro. More user friendly but feature rich.

Watch it in action!

Very nice.
I was thinking about creating one for myself.
Would you mind telling me how to create these custom widget for Launcher Pro Plus?
I think I saw it somewhere else in xda but couldn't find it.
a sort of step-by-step instruction would be nice
Thanks in advance.
There is a very detailed post in the general android forums. Its called android phone 7.

Here's what I did, I didn't read any other forum on how to do this. I just wanted it so I just basically did it how I would do it.
First, get launcher pro plus. You need LPplus so you can resize widgets. Hide your notification tray, empty out the bottom dock.
I'm using "Desktop Visualizer" on my Android phone. Check it out here: http://whatsonyourandroid.appspot.com/details?p=jp.co.bii.android.app.dskvzr
Download desktop visualizer from market. Then download icons from google images. Then just add the DV widget like normal. It will instruct you which app to use, super easy. Then just resize everything like you want it. Then repeat.
Did you not have any problems with Desktop Vis slowing down your phone? On my Droid OC'd to 1,000 it made my screens super laggy having around 16 widgets total.

Thanks a lot for your instruction.
I'll give it a shot.
Thanks.
Maybe slightly work on the wording fitting into the icons instead of floating. I have the original set on mine for the past week and love it. Was working on new icons myself haha.

Can get a screen shot of yours. It was very difficult to even come close with the wording. Resizing the widget also resizes the position of the words. Couldn't figure out the right rhythm.
That is freakin dope! I might try to do something this weekend..

I have mine posted in the screen shot topic. Best way to use those icons is with Desktop Vizualizer and run LPP.

Yea I saw your theme and that inspired me to do mine. I sent you a private message a week ago, about how you did yours, no response. So I had to do it a way I only knew how to. Using the desktop visualizer, a very rough way making custom icons.

Yep. Launcher Pro + DV + GIMP + Sick Day. lol.
I like the concept, but not the Win7 icons that are out there. I will probably take the time to fit everything better size wise later, but this was fun.
How did you get more control of the title icons. Using DV I didn't have much options with the resizing of the title.

put the title in the image you create.
The image and the title move dependent with each other using DV. I'm sorry im not understanding. Its very tricky cause the title and image are preset its just manipulating the size.

I didn't use the titles in DV. I built them into the images.

Hey guys I'm sorry if I'm a noob for asking this, but how exactly are you guys creating these sick icons and docks. I have downloaded some icons and docks to my phone which were posted on xda, but either icons are too small, the dock doesn't show up or I loose tranparency once I start editing in paint. Lol I'm so confused. I have launcherpro plus btw. Some help in the form of a full tutorial would be greatly appreciated!

Well as for losing transparency when editing, You cannot use paint to edit. You have to use photoshop, it keeps the transparency whereas when you use paint it creates a white background automatically.
an alternative to photoshop is paint.net, its free and more or less has the same toolset and heaps of plugins.

Hello. I was bored today working on a Graphic Design project and decided to take a small break to make some Sense style docks. They should work in Launcher Pro, Adw Ex and Go Launcher Ex.
The zip is not flash-able. Just extract the png files to your sdcard somewhere and select the images like you would normally for custom docks in your launcher.
There is also a blank png file included in the zip, to make the buttons transparent over the dock if needed.
I have tested most of these in Go Launcher Ex, but some may be a little rough around the edges because I haven't tested them all.
If I get more time I will try and make some more.
Thank you..... I been looking everywhere and couldn't find anything like this is it possible to make transparent one? Or a wood one? Or a pearl white one?

No problem. I may eventually add some more later. If I can figure out how to theme the clock I'll add some clock skins. I am not too good with the programming end if things though and it may take some code.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk
Which clock? You mean the original HTC fancy widget?
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
Fancy widget or Beautiful widgets. I think there are templates for the skins on those.

Oh ok. I do not know how to theme apks. I do not know anything about code. I just know enough to change image files in photoshop, etc.
I got another could you make a black and white one.... Like you know the photo effect old time photos

Launcher pro +

Have you tried setting the icon you want to the black wallpaper that comes in the dock package? Or after setting the transparent icon did you restart your launcher?
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
Yea I put a transparent gif icon file in the first zip file I believe. Let me know if that isn't working. Set your dock shortcuts then use it as the custom icon for each so the dock shows through but the app is still there.
I'll see if I can make some more docks soon.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk
Lol remember the black and white one like those old school photos but yeah man set the shortcut then set the custom icon and that should work...

Heya, Thanks for these dock bars, been looking for something like this for ages!
Not sure if it's still allowed to ask, but is it possible to make them with these icons (left/right, but then proper) as well? -->
Much thanks <3
I have been away for a bit. I'll see what I can come up with.

Hello, all.. I've got a question about some custom docks I've made..
I've made a few docks, but when I set them, the transparency seems to go away, and fill itself with black.. I've took other docks and modified them but again, it fills the transparent parts with black! Im using picsay pro to jus add a few of my own taste to them.. is there a certain way to keep the transparency? When I use the original unmodified dock, the transparency is fine. But as soon as I mod it, its not.. any help in how to keep the transparency would be great, thank-you

Use Photoshop.
What file format are you saving them as? It should be .png. Are you sure Picsay is able to save transparency?
If you can't acquire a copy of photo shop, try GIMP.
Yes, I do not think picsay can save as transparent png files. I needs to be an un-flattened layer with a transparent background.
Use photoshop and save them as .png
Make sure you have the correct resolution also.
Thank you all.. ill give it a go.. and yes, I did save them as PNG

Use your PC. Picsay isn't able to save them transparent. If you don't have PS download paint.net its free.
I am looking for some icons to use for Circle Launcher and I am having a heck of a time finding some that actually look like I want them too. I am looking for something that looks work and old, but the catch is that is also has to have a bit of a sci-fi look to it as well. I will attach some of the wallpapers that I am using so that way you guys know a little better of what I am talking about. Color isn't really a big deal, I know my way around image editors well enough to change the colors and that's about all I can do with them. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
