Unboxing - Nothing inside other than the pouch, some foam cushion & silica gel
Side comparison - Front & Back, one side has PDAir logo embedded
Overall look - With handset inside of course
Fit for I9023 - Beginning is a bit rough fit, very tight as the leather is hard, after a sometime it started to follow the shape of the phone. Please note that I9023 couldn't go all the way flushed in the pouch, it leaves about 1.5 to 2mm protruding out from the pouch. I'm pretty sure it fits nicely with I9020. A little bit bulky with a handset inside as the pouch has roughly 3mm or more thickness each side, seems like there's a cardboard beneath the leather.
Coming up next, Samsung EF-C1A3L OEM Leather Pouch..stay tuned
Nice photos.
Is there some cut out for the speaker grill somewhere on the case? My NS4G is the most quiet phone i've ever had and the speakers are NOT loud in the first place, no matter what loud ringtone i've hunted down. Even the vibrate is very weak, i hardly feel it in a pocket. So i'd hazard that sticking it in a leather pouch would muffle it even more, and more-so when in a pocket.
Right now, i use a very nice TPU case with a cut out for the speaker area.
well..as you can see the side comparison pictures (front & back), there are no holes at all.

My DIY belt pouch for Dopod U1000 1/3
After lots of looking around and failing to find a suitable belt pouch, I've decided to make one myself. I used my old notebook's carrying case's leather when I started, but quickly found out that the sewing machine could not handle it. After breaking one and bending another needle, I decided to use the inner lining instead. That turns out to be an excellent material for making pouches. I can put both the keyboard and unit inside, but I prefer to bring along only the unit.
As you can see from photo 1 and 2, when I'm wearing a black pant, you may not even notice that I'm carrying it. On a light colored trousers, from the front you could hardly notice anything. From the side, it is noticable if I lift my hand up. When my hands are hanging down normally, you hardly notice it.

Okay, my sewing skill is not really up to scratch, but you won't see any of it because any imperfection in sowing is hidden inside the pouch, not outside.

Yes, it is quite comfortable. When I'm in the car, the unit will be on the car holder, the soft material means that you don't feel anything at all. When the unit is in the pouch, placing it at the side of my waist rather than in front helps.
I still wear in at home Won't do it if it is uncomfortable.
For those of us who don't need / want a heavy, thick leather cover to protect the Galaxy Tab, there's a cheap alternative: so far I'm thoroughly impressed with the silicon skin I purchased from eBay, it adds grip, provides essential protection to the hard plastic case, and doesn't interfere with the tablet orientation and accessories (and adds virtually no bulk to the form factor).
As for a screen protector...well, I feel it is totally unnecessary due to the modern strong glass material used nowadays, at best it adds a visible layer that compromises the viewing angles (perhaps less so with the more expensive types, I don't know...).
Oh, and I kept the factory-fitted plastic sheet at the back of the tablet, as it definitely serves a purpose I would have inadvertently scratched the tablet's body a few times if it wasn't for this protective layer (before I purchased the silicon skin). I left it on because I sometimes remove the silicon skin, so it remains a useful feature.

Mine is totally smooth at the back. The other model shown in another discussion thread has curved areas of grippy silicon at the back, easy to see on the photos.
More importantly, check that the silicon "lips" at the front only just wrap the edges of the device, you don't want them to come too far onto the glass surface, as it's better to have access to the surrounding display surface for touch/swipe gestures and thumb grab.
Hi,
alot of you guys are asking about cases for the Nexus S and for an Otterbox alternative, here it is. So after a week of usage with my Convert, it's now time for a small review.
Basically, the Convert is Seidio Surface Case with a bigger/rugged Seidio Active on top of it. Here's what's inside the package
- Seidio Surface Case
- Silicon Skin
- Skeleton Protection
- Holster
- Screen Protector

First, here's some pictures of the Surface Case. Ideal for everyday use. Small form factor and perfect for a pocket. NOTE: The Surface does NOT fit in the Convert Holster, so you'll have to buy a second holster if you need one.
And some pictures with the added protection (silicon skin and the skeleton protection). All the ports/camera lens and flash/controls are protected.
Some more pictures with the holster. The pictures are not showing it, but there's a lock on the top clip to avoid accidental drops.
So here is my final thought on the case. This case is perfect for people who work on the contruction or things like that. The extra protection is AMAZING. But for a person like me who don't need this extra protection on a regular basis, the size becomes an issue (in my opinion). So I bought the extra holster for the Surface case for my everyday use and when I go to the cottage/fishing/mounting biking I put the extra layer for more protection. The thing I like the most about this case is the versatility. Need a classy/small/convenient case use the surface and when you need more protection you put the hole package.
Feel free to ask questions!!
Damn. Heavy duty indeed. Try taking a picture with the phone with at least that silicone case on. I had the Amzer silicone case and the silicone in between the flash and the lens screwed up pictures. Kinda curious if it's the same here since it has a similar design.
The problem with the current line of Note 2 cases as of today is that they are either very thin or very thick. I was after a case that gave total protection... while retaining compatibility with the current wireless charging mods, but after an exhaustive search, I found nothing !
I have the Rock flip case which is nice but does not protect the top and bottom of the Note 2 and does not work with wireless charging, also have the "real thing" Samsung TPU case but does not have a flip cover and is very slippery, even though it is not wet! Also have some of those very cheap and thin cases, and finally took delivery of a plastic bumper case.
The product I have is a combination of the thin case and the plastic bumper case. I just cut the sides of the thin case, slotted the remaining part onto the bumper case and ......

I had to sand the back of the thin plastic though as it was slippery..... brushed effetc as Samsung calls it:
Only drawback of this case is it does not protect the top right corner of the note, and of course no flipper !!!
The lip of the bumper case feels like silicon/rubber but it does not easily slip off. I am quite satisfied with this case and I think I will keep using it until I find what I want in the near future...
I've been wanting a nexus 4 like bumper case for our phone. However they all have that antennae cutout. I like what you did with the back of it

it wouldn't surprise me if it was real leather. It's not going to be high grade leather at all.
And that's a case that fits over an existing plastic back?
They should make a slightly bigger case that fits over the leather back, so you can have leather on your leather when you want to lather your leather.
I just got one last week. The leather looks pretty real to me. The one BIG problem with it is that it only covers the sides of the phone and not the top and bottom. But beyond that, it doesn't maintain a very good grip on the phone. That is to say, it's way too easy to take the cover off by just tugging on a side ever so slightly. I dropped the phone once (on a mat at the gym) and cover basically flew right off. Had it been concrete, my phone would be a mess. With that said, it does feel good in the hand, and with the exception of the loose grip on the phone, I think it's pretty well made.
Using it. Not as slick looking as the original leather back, but provides quite a nice and good grip.

So it looks and feels good, but not very functional (since it flies off the phone with low height drop)
Thats too bad, the brown one looks real slick versus the overpriced stock backing from LG
