[Q] Modem Switcher Help ( Redbend_ua ) ? - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay so i have a Tmobile Samsung Galaxy Tab
its Running OverCome Rom
i am trying to use to make phone calls but the modem switcher
isnt working and im lost on what to do
i have done all the steps correctly
when i run it it say
stderr [: applets not found
stderr etc.
Data/local/tmp cannot find redbend_ua
and then does nothing idk what to do?

You probably made the modemswitch folder, then copied the modemswitch folder inside that, so the file path is wrong, and the script tells you "not found".

[Q] any chance to use shellscript.sh in updateR-script of update.zip?

I've been cooking a rom and got a problem.
I could do everything except bloody running script.sh file in updater-script.
What I've tried is like this:
Code:
run_program("/dir-to-the-file/userinit.sh");
It seems that it wasn't even run at all.
/dir-to-the-file is successfully set and the only problem is that updater-script doesn't run this script file!
#!/system/bin/sh, permission have been checked more than 10 times.
Am I digging a massive hole?
Is it impossible to run this shell script file?
Any advices should be greatful, thanks!

[Q] Location of wpa_supplicant.conf on I9000 roms

Hi guys,
I've got a customer who is having a problem on my app which has to read wpa_supplicant.conf. Normally this file is located at /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf and requires root to read.
Anyways, according to the errors he's getting and based on his own exploration, his wpa_supplicant.conf file is not located there. I'm not sure which ROM he has (am waiting for a reply to that question now), but does anyone know if this file is normally located in /data/misc/wifi ?
Thanks,
James
Its not there on Darky 7.0 based on latest JPY firmware.
Search in progress ;]
/etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
and symlink
/system/etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
Thanks for the tip. On my customer's phone that file is just a template and not actually storing networks. I'll poke around in that ROM though. Thanks again.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Stock Froyo location is etc/wifi

Looking at /system/etc/wifi/wifi.conf on Darky 7.0 I see the following
Code:
FIRMWARE_LOADER=wlan_loader
DRIVER_PROP_NAME=wlan.driver.status
SUPPLICANT_NAME=wpa_supplicant
SUPP_PROP_NAME=init.svc.wpa_supplicant
MODULE_FILE=/proc/modules
IFACE_DIR=/data/misc/wifi
DRIVER_MODULE_NAME=dhd
DRIVER_MODULE_TAG=dhd
FIRMWARE_LOADER=
[b]SUPP_CONFIG_TEMPLATE=/system/etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf[/b]
SUPP_CONFIG_FILE=/data/wifi/bcm_supp.conf
DRIVER_MODULE_PATH=/lib/modules/dhd.ko
MFGDRV_MODULE_ARG=firmware_path=/system/etc/wifi/bcm4329_mfg.bin nvram_path=/system/etc/wifi/nvram_mfg.txt
DRV_AP_MODULE_ARG=firmware_path=/system/etc/wifi/bcm4329_aps.bin nvram_path=/system/etc/wifi/nvram_net.txt dhd_watchdog_ms=200 dhd_poll=1
DRIVER_MODULE_ARG=firmware_path=/system/etc/wifi/bcm4329_sta.bin nvram_path=/system/etc/wifi/nvram_net.txt dhd_watchdog_ms=10 dhd_poll=1
DRIVER_APS_FIRMWARE_NAME=bcm4329_aps.bin
DRIVER_STA_FIRMWARE_NAME=bcm4329_sta.bin
INTERFACENAME=eth0
WAPI_SUPPORT=false
[b]SUPP_CONF_FILEPATH=/data/misc/wifi/[/b]
SUPP_WAPI_AS_CERT_FILE_PATH=/data/misc/wifi/cert/as/
SUPP_WAPI_USER_CERT_FILE_PATH=/data/misc/wifi/cert/user/
SUPPLICANT_STATUS=wlan.supplicant.status
This tells me I would expect the conf file to be in /data/misc/wifi and the template to be in /system/etc/wifi.
Argh, this is very frustrating.
Code:
SUPP_CONFIG_TEMPLATE=/system/etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
is what you are after.
-(e)
Sweetlime, would you mind elaborating?
Do you see your networks in that file on your device?
On every device and ROM that I've been able to inspect that file is just the template and contains no specific network information.
Sorry I am an idiot I copied the wrong line, that should have read:
Code:
SUPP_CONFIG_FILE=/data/wifi/bcm_supp.conf
[null]

[Q] Upgraded to "Overcome - Gingerbread", /efs folder empty

Hi guys,
Looking for helps here.
First I want to thank the guy created the "Overcome for Gingerbread", it comes w/ a great details instruction and I successfully upgraded.
My tab was original from Bell Canada, the phone feature was locked. I was able to unlock it by modifying the nv_data.bin file...
But now after I upgraded to Gingerbread, my phone feature is disabled again so I suppose I should do the whole unlock process again. However when I looked for the nv_data.bin file, the directory /efs is empty?!?!?!. Can someone help me here?
Thanks,
Edit: I found a nv_data.bin file on my laptop (not sure if it's the orginial one), trying to copy it to the /efs folder on the tablet, but I got error "not enough space"...
What program u using to copy with. Put that file on the SD card first from your PC.
Then get EF File Explorer rooted, and copy that from the SD card to the /efs directory
The nv_data.bin edit unlocks the tablet to allow use on other carriers like rogers, fido etc.
It does not provide phone usage, you need to flash a european rom to enable the phone,
then you need to flash a suitable modem to allow 3G data and phone, then edit your apn info.
Are you sure efs is empty, maybe your no longer rooted and can't see it?
You get the not enough space error because you have most probably renamed the original file and are trying to copy the new one in the directory. Delete the file and also the.md5 correspondent (it will be recreated on reboot.
P
Thanks for all the replies guys, but my problem is still there.
@Sonictab: I'm rooted and I'm sure that my /efs folder is empty.
@StarLog: I'm using Super Manager to copy the file
Now I can't even download files from the browser nor using the market place to download any apps. Something went wrong and I'm not sure what. Should I downgrade?

[Q] Modem Switcher Need Help Asap ( redbend_ua )?

Something about cant find redbend_ua

EDIT
Fixed it
It was Working Because the Modem Switch Folder
Had all the files in a folder inside modem switch so it was

Just Moved everything outta the Sub Folder
And you need to manually create the gscript folder too. It isn't made automatically, like the instructions state.

Getting notification files deleted from gear

In pushing the notif .ogg files to the gear 2 neo, ive apparently put duplicates on it (one with an upper case first letter and another with a lower case first letter) which apparently has confused the gear as when i select either, neither work. All the others i put on it seem to have worked just fine, but the one duplicated file is borked. Ive done the Odin tar.md5 flash file to try to get it back to out-of-the-box, but it doesnt fully restore it. I am trying to remove the borked files, but i dont know the sdb commands to do so. Any help would be appreciated!!
nvm, its the same as adb commands *facepalm*
sdb shell rm -r /opt/share/settings/Alerts/<filename>.ogg
So the SDB commands to remove all the not working .ogg files worked, but when I put one specific file back on and select it for the notif tone, it says (null) as the selected notif tone. Other custom tones work fine and the file in question works on my computer also the file transfer process shows successful in the SDB terminal. Still at a loss about this one specific .ogg file I've even renamed the file to no avail
ok, so i fully realize that im talking to myself here, but im posting this stuff so if anyone else was wondering the same thing, they might get the answers they seek here. I have found that the way to see the files in a certain folder in the watch's OS is with another modified ADB command. The command is "adb shell ls /path/to/directory/with/notification/files" but with the method of connecting to the watch being SDB, it'd actually be "sdb shell ls /path/to/directory/with/notification/files" but of course replacing the "/path/to/directory/with/notification/files" with the actual directory path
well your thread helped me figure out how to delete mp3 files off my Gear S Alerts folder but I can't figure out how to delete a file with 2 words in it. I never put a dash so I can't figure out how to delete "AOL IM.mp3"...keeps seeing as two files and wont delete.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Of course I finally figured out after posting this. Just needed to put in ' xxxx ' quote.
