To Root the LG Optimus 3D any firmware you will need
SuperOneClick , winRaR to extract the file , also you may need google ADB drivers if your on windows xp
Step 1: Download SuperOneClick here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IKMS0QN3 then extract it.
Step 2: On the phone goto settings > Applications > Development > Turn USB Debugging on also turn on unknown sources.
Step 3: connect the phone to your pc make sure mass storage is turned off once connected wait for the drivers to install
Step 4: Run SuperOneClick as admin right click superoneclick run as administrator and click on Root, sometimes it can take a few minutes once it's done restart the phone now you should have superuser app on the phone.
To play Tegra Games you need to Root your phone first

Well Troubleshoot it. If unzipping doesn't work correctly when done through the phone go to you PC than download it there considering I have heard people have issues with files not downloading 100% correctly when Downloading from an Android device so there might be some issues as well. Shrug just some ideas.
chainfire and nvidia driver working great!!!!
i just look online for games working with lg g2x cause it has dual core nvidia chipset...

Ok for those that are having a few issues following the directions and went to the market to DL Chainsfire the menus and what the OP say's are slightly different than the order specified. You download and install Chainsfire and Install the CF3D Driver and Reboot. After that and you have the Nvidia thing put on your SD card you go to Install plugins / shaders THAN you go to Default OpenGL settings and Set Nvidia. The Install plugins part I thing was confusing people.
I've tried everything posted and I still can't seem to be able to download any tegra games from market. Any helpful tips?

This completely fixed the problem. Rebooting after installing the driver made all the difference. Thanks given! Now if I could quit being lazy and take the time to figure out how to run the PX4droid emulator and get some PS games running would be sweet.
It should reeboot by it's self once you install the driver
It usually does reboot after installation but if not, just go into CWM and reboot. Worked for me.

Where did you download yours from because I cannot seem to find anything to download. When I had my other phones just them being updated to Gingerbread allowed me to play Samurai Vengeance and Modern Combat 2 etc. But I had just gotten those from the market. What I want is Pinball HD for Tegra. I can find it but no button is there for me to click on to download it. Not sure what to do.

I have an AT&T SGT. I've been using the beta version of VPlayer from the market. VPlayer is a great app but when I purchased it for $.99 through paypal for the unlocker, the download failed. I emailed Vplayer and they sent me an .apk file for the unlocker but I can't install it.
I've "googled" and got this.
"Download apps for Samsung Galaxy Tab from outside the Android Market
Android apps come in the form of APK files. You can use Google to find free APK files for your Galaxy Tab, then install them using the steps below.
Note: This method should probably only be used by techies or people who really know what they are doing. Installing APK files from some sites can compromise the security of your device.
1. Open Settings.
2. Select Applications.
3. Check Unknown sources to enable app installs from outside of the Android Market.
4. Open Android Market and download and install Astro File Manager.
5. If you used your computer to download the APK file, mount the Galaxy Tab to your computer and copy the APK file to the device. If you used the Browser on the Galaxy Tab, the file should be saved to the device.
6. Open Astro File Manager.
7. Navigate to the APK file location. Tap it and select Open App Manager.
8. Tap Install.
9. Tap Install again"
But my problem is that I cannot comply with step 3. It doesn't give me that option.
I've copied the apk file to my sdcard and installed Easy Installer App from the market to help install it. The Easy Installer App sees the apk file but when I click to install it, it shows:
" FOR SECURITY, YOUR PHONE IS SET TO BLOCK INSTALLATION OF APPLICATIONS NOT OBTAINED FROM ANDROID MARKET."
It give me the option to click the setting button but I can't find the menu to allow installation of non-market apk files.
Thanks for the help.
I don't have the link handy but search SuperOneClickv1.5.5-ShortFuse either in here or Google. Once you've downloaded the file and extract it, click the SuperOneClick.exe file and finally click allow non market apps. I highly suggest rooting your phone first to make it work. I'm sure there's an easier way but since no one has replied to you yet, I'm hoping this could get you started.

I've installed superoneclick on my windows 7 laptop. THe program runs but when I click allow non-market apps it freezes when it's "waiting for device".
My galaxy tab is already rooted via z4root. I've also unrooted it and trying to root it through superoneclick but it still has the same freezing problem and I have to force to close.
make sure your usb connection is set to debugging then run it again. see if that works.

Thanks for the quick reply rush_exmachina. I've tried the debugging mode already. I also tried: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
"If you're having issues with "wait for device" or if RATC is looping, try this
Unplug your USB Cable
Go to Settings > Applications > Development
Uncheck USB Debugging
Plug in your USB Cable
Unplug your USB Cable
Check USB Debugging
Plug in your USB Cable"
Still no success. I've searched the forums a bit, some SGT owners were successfull with superoneclick and some were not.
no prob. I'm fairly new to the android world myself. I've exhausted everything I know on top of my head but I'll search the forums with you and post whatever I could find here.
Sounds like you may not have the correct USB drivers installed. To test this open a command prompt on your windows computer. Navigate to the same directory you have SuperOneclick installed. In that directory you will see an executable named adb.exe In the command prompt, type adb devices. It should return with a serial number. If not, it can not communicate with your tab. In this case you will need to install the correct Samsung drivers for it to work. Also, as already mentioned, make sure USB Debugging is turned on.
First my english no too good, sorry if don't understand me,i well try,i had this same problem really I could not even root using z4 root since it's not on market no more, well I rooted using superonclick,i did successfully, still my problem about installing apps out of the market....well I did click the install non market apps, and have ther same errors like you then I realized I need give superuser permission so my advice is make sure you give SU permission(this is on your tab, I'm assuming us rooted with su installed) I hope you understood (i said for my english) if not I'm sure somebody here can explain better

Thanks for the reply guys. I will try the command promp method when I get home from work. See if I can get somewhere with that.
As far as permissions I have my SGT rooted via z4root. I went to the superuser app to give permissions...but I don't know enough to do anything with it. I tried adding apps to set permissions but I could not choose anything.
I installed ASTRO app... It looked promising but at the and my SGT still says it's setup to blocking non-market apps. To me that means there should be a setup menu to unblock it.
Thanks again for the help.

Not on the AT&T version as they specifically block that out. The only method to add it is either via SuperOneClick or modifying the settings file directly. SuperOneClick is the easiest method though as editing the file requires Root Explorer and potential for messing something else up in the file.
FINALLY SUCCESSFULL!! I downloaded and installed my SGT drivers from here.http://samsung-phones-apps.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-usb-driver.html
I also found http://www.androidcentral.com/sideload-android-apps-all-you-want-sideload-wonder-machine
I downloaded from both links and followed the directions and it worked like a champ.
Also make sure your SGT is rooted and USB Debugging is enabled like the guys above are saying.
Thanks Rush_exMachina, cbb77 and denpad2010 for your help.
so is this the only way to accomplish this? i'm trying to install non market apps on my att tab. this way works but it is such a hassle
Setting - Security
1. Open Settings.
2. Select Applications. Select Security instead of Application
3. Check Unknown sources to enable app installs from outside of the Android Market.
I looked around to see if this was posted anywhere else on here but didn't see anything. I wanted to let everyone know that you are able to port Fifa 10 to the gTab using the following method.
Note: This method has only been tested by myself. I do not know how this will affect your device so proceed with caution.
You will need to have a device that can already run Fifa for this to work. (ex Samsung Fascinate)
Instructions in red are to be performed on your gTab. Instructions in lime green are to be performed on your second device.
1.) Install the Fifa apk on the gTab. You can either do this by downloading from the market, if it shows up, or by side-loading it. (If you try to open it it will try to download extra information and fail.)
2.) Install the Fifa apk on your second device.
3.) Once you have installed on your second device you will open the game. It will start by notifying you that it must download more files from the EA servers. Allow it to fully download and install the game.
4.) After it has been completely installed on the second device you will have all the files you need to play on your gTab. On your second device use Dropbox to upload all the files in /sdcard/data/data/com.eamobile.Fifa/files to your Dropbox account.
5.) On your gTab navigate to the /sdcard/data/data. From here you will need to create the folder " com.eamobile.Fifa ".
6.) Inside that folder create another folder titled " files "
7.) Install all of the files you upload to your dropbox into the newly created files folder on your gTab
You should now be able to open Fifa 10 on your gTab. Hope this can help the gTab loving soccer fans out there!
Thanks for the walkthrough.
Do you know if this solves the "white field" issue? I've installed it in the past but the grass is always white for some reason?
Too weird -- FIFA 10 worked for me right off the market...I bought it when the app was 99cents for a while...
No work needed at all to get it to run on the gtablet...
Ive gotten fifa to load and start a game but always fcs abt 10 seconds into the game and I see the white field patches. Memory is 300mb before game launch, data file downloaded properly, running vegan 5.1....any thoughts?
me too

I used psneuter for the root method inside s1c (should be default). I heard prior to using s1c that gingerbreak wasn't working on this phone.
Well after breaking the command prompt on my laptop(vista...) I got it on my old desktop. Problem was computer sucked. So if anyone has a crappy computer. When it freezes. On your phone endebug. Wait about twenty seconds. It'll freeze again. Debug it. It'll freeze again. Undebug again. Itll process about half of the information. Then this time it wont freeze but it'll wait for you to debug it again. Then it'll install superuser and test it. So Gingerbreak. Freeze. Undebug. Freeze. Debug. Freeze. Undebug. Ask for root. Debug.
Hey not everyone has good computers now

The original was not a real zip, it's a rar. Rename it to .rar and open it with 7-zip. If not, re-download it. Preferably here: http://shortfuse.org/?page_id=2. Supposedly that one's a bonafied zip.

Yeah, this is the complete set of drivers for this device (nothing omitted). It will go through the process of setting up the drivers one more time, and then never again (it should find everything).
Ok so I used the drivers from that page and when I use S1C it gets to running psnsuter (or gingerbreak both do the same thing) it never gets any further.. I even waited like 15mins.. I have usb debug on and internet connection mode. STEP16. Get root explorer from the Andriod market or type in "ROOT EXPLORER.APK" on googles Web and download it and instal it to your phone its and APP STEP17. Ok now Copy this: ro.product. rat=EvDo only
STEP18. Go into root explorer find "SYSTEM" a new page opens now press and hold on (BUILD.PROP) Tell is pulls up a list of things to do click on "OPEN IN TEXT EDITOR" now you'll see a page of black word on white paper
STEP19.PASTE what you earlier copies on to this paste it under "RO.PRODUCT just find the letters And past it at the end of the last RO.PRODUCT file just paste and reboot
NOTE:The next step is if you want full ANDRIOD MARKET access now all you need to is instal the BUILD PROP. file VIA Clock Works Recovery this is the build prop. From and HTC THUNDERBOLT which has the same CHIP SET as The Triumph but with full market access
STEP20. Go to your Andriod market look up order and chaos you won't be able to find it on the normal motorola triumph when you flash it to the thunderbolts Build.prop you will and many more other apps like Crackle, Order and Chaos, Modern combat 2, NOVA 2, Backstab etc. Basically it will show everything a thunderbolt can see. I used that phone as my basis because it is similar to ours yet it has more support in the market for apps such as the ones gameloft offers. First instal the Thunderbolts zip from here: androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/ 405837-thunderprop-build-prop-market- access-updated-10-4-2011-a.html
NOTE2: You are going to have to sign up for this forum in order to get the zip required the zips name which your suppose to get is called: MTThunderprop.zip
STEP21. Now go into AndroZip which you should have installed on your phone I'f you haven't been following this forum you get it from the market now create a folder name it "Thunderbolt" now look for the thunder.zip file you just downloaded grab and move to the THUNDERBOLT FOLDER now press and extract
STEP22. Go to Manage Applications, click on market and make sure to force stop first and then clear data on your Andriod Market App
STEP23. Now turn off your phone
STEP23. PRESS AND HOLD VOLUME UP AND DOWN WHILE HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON ALL "TOGETHER"!
STEP24. Now you are on CWR now go to "INSTAL ZIP FROM SD CARD" and simply look for your folder where you placed the thunder.zip now instal or to your phone and your done reboot back
STEP25. Now that your Phones on go to"SETTINGS" " ABOUT PHONE " and you'll see your Triumph is no triumph its actually "THE HTC TRIUMPH THUNDER" lol check the oses its at 2.3.4 there you go guys Thank you for reading bye!..

Hi everyone,
I recently got a Kindle Fire HD for Christmas I am delighted with it, however I am disappointed that Amazon's App Store is somewhat limited in comparison to other App stores such as GooglePlay.
I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a step by step guide on how root a Kindle Fire HD 11.3.1.0. I looked at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544736 however I apologise for being a newb but I did not really understand it! Do I simply connect my Kindle Fire HD to my computer and then run the script? I would appreciate a step by step guide as I am quite clueless when it comes to these things!
So once the Kindle Fire HD has been rooted, can GooglePlay be installed?
Also is it dangerous to root a Kindle? Can I break it? And is there the possibility that future software updates could break my Kindle having rooted it?
Thanks for your time and I would appreciate any input!

Hi jha1991, you do need to be careful about rooting and making changes to your device. The most impost advice I can offer would be to do your research. Ensure that you know what device you actually own and its version. Amazon have not made this easy with their version and naming convention. Most mistakes which are encountered are as a result of not following instructions correctly or attempting to follow a process which was not designed for the device you own.
Check your device by going to "Settings" ---> Device ----> System Updates.
The actual version should be under Current version.
If you do in-fact have the 11.3.1.0 . I have good news and bad news.
THE GOOD NEWS
This is the new version of the device, thus far, the device can be safely rooted if you follow the instructions in this link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544736
Tips: Ensure that the drivers for the device are installed correctly, not the Microsoft native ones which the OS provides by actual ADB drivers. (You can search around for those, I have found that there are a few different variations of those so you would need to find the ones which work for you, based on the OS you are running and configuration of your machine. Feel free to install and un-install until you get this step right.
Once this is done you can safely root the device by running the batch file provided. Run the file by double clicking and not by right clicking and running as administrator. (A bit odd I know)
THE BAD NEWS
At present there is no secondary or unlocked boot loader for the device, which would allow users to side load TWRP and other essentials. So installation of custom roms and other freedoms are currently not available. My advice, wait it out and allow the developers to release a tested and working solution for an unlocked boot-loader for the firmware of this device.
THE ALTERNATIVE FOR APPS
You can install apps by copying the apk files directly to the device and installing from there, you do not need Google Play to do this. The current methods being used to run Google play on the device are hit and miss and have been known to cripple and already crippled kindle fire OS.
Install any app you want by uploading the APKs
Check out this site to get this done, it would be a good start.
http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/
CHEERS.
Nice answer :good:
Very well elaborated and detailed answer right there. I think this should be a sticky post since users with the new KFHD [3rd gen] (11.3.1.0) get a very nice overview about their device and their current possibilities!
I can confirm that the rooting script mentioned above works perfectly fine for the new Kindle.
If anybody wants to get rid of the Amazon-ads, here are the steps to get this done:
(All credits for this go to "Codemasta"!!!)
Root your Kindle Fire HD 2013
Download and install ES File Explorer from amazon AppStore (its free)
Start ES File Explorer and enable Root Explorer
Browse to "/data/securedStorageLocation/dtcp/"
Marke the "adunits" folder
Go to "more" and "settings"
Remove the permissions from "rwx --- ---" to "--- --- ---"
(Optional) Remove all folders in the adunits folder
Just don't ever try to mess with the dtcp****** etc. files located inside the app-folder since they're signed and can get you your Kindle bricked.
Afaik this is the only reliable and safe way to get rid of those ads on the KFHD 11.3.1.0 atm.
Concerning the Google PlayStore, I haven't really testet that matter, but I can confirm that by copying the apk.-files on your Kindle and then running them from your Kindle, you are able to get any game or app you want
Hope this helps anybody being confused about what possibilities there are for the new Kindle :fingers-crossed:
Greetings!
@cerberus0f Thanks for this, I appeciate it! However the thread you linked me to is the one I originally mentioned. Is there a step by step guid on how to root? It's good to know that apps can be installed by copying apk files, therefore no Google Play store needed

@LinearEquation this is the thread from my original post. So do I just simply plug my Kindle into my computer, download the zip file and run the runme.bat file? Is it that simple? Because that is all I can gather from this thread...
Thanks
@cerberus0f & @cruzersteve, thank you for the great info on the 3rd gen. I've had mine rooted since Christmas day and have been able to use most apps that I want, but sometimes (non gapps) I get a error that says I need google play services.
It's this normal?

Pretty much But before that you gotta make sure your Kindle has a ADB-connection to your computer. I'm sure there are plenty of instructions on how to get those adb drivers to recognize your Kindle, so just search the forums or google and you'll get plenty of guides + the neccessary drivers there. But don't worry, it's a very simple process.
Basically, this:
-Uninstall any existant drivers on your computer for the Kindle in case you have connected the device to it before (which you prolly have )
-Install the ADB drivers on your system (nothing more but a simple setup.exe file installation)
-Plug your Kindle to the computer, make Windows stop searching automatically for the needed drivers and point him to the folder where the new drivers are.
That's pretty much it, but I'm sure any guides with screenshots out there will leave you without any doubts on this!
Once you have assured your Kindle gets recognized by ADB (enable ADB on the Kindle!!!) you just run the script from above and you're set!
Your Kindle will be rooted afterwards
Greetings!

Nothing you have to worry about, and yeah afaik that's a totally normal behaviour.
Some apps heavily rely on Google Play Services, so that's nothing strange
I've not encountered a message like that yet though. Do those apps still work after the message pops up or do they close upon this message?
Greetings!
@cruzersteve I downloaded and installed the ADB drivers, however when I plug the Kindle in via USB, Windows does not search for the ADB drivers I installed, but installs new drivers. The Kindle appears as a Portable Media Device in my devices. How do I get Windows to look for the ADB drivers?
Thanks

That's why I told you to search for detailed guides about this, since it's kinda hard to explain this just with words, but let me give it a try
Step-by-step:
1.) Plug your Kindle to your computer
2.) Open your device manager
3.) Right-click your Kindle-device in the device manager (Section should be portable devices) --> Chose uninstall
4.) We've now uninstalled any existing driver for the Kindle on your system. Now make sure again that you've enabled ADB-support on your Kindle!!!
5.) Unplug the Kindle from your PC
6.) Install ADB drivers to your system [Skip this if already done ^^]
7.) Now comes the "tricky" part. It requires you to click fast enough, but it's not really hard either xD Plug in your Kindle to your computer.
--> Since there are no drivers on the system for this device, Windows is gonna start looking for compatible drivers for the device. This should get displayed by a icon on the right of your taskbar. Double-click that so the windows driver search gets displayed. And on the bottom part of this box, there should be an option like this: "Stop searching automatically for drivers for this device" [Sorry for not providing the exact words, my system is in german so I can't But there's only one option you can click to make him stop so you basically can't miss it =) ]
8.) So now, we've stopped Windows from installing the drivers he needed for the device. Go to the device manager once again, and by the side of your Kindle, there should be displayed a yellow exclamation mark now, since the system is missing the adb-drivers.
9.) Right-click the Kindle once again, chose "Update drivers" and then click yourself through the driver installation process. Make sure to chose the option "Chose specific folder location to look for drivers" (or something like that) when you get asked for it. Then, obviously, point him to the folder where your ADB-drivers are installed.
10.) You should be done by now. After this your device should be installed with the correct ADB-drivers
Sorry for my bad english, not my native language but I'm trying! xD
Here's a youtube video, his steps aren't all the same as I described them since he starts off way later in the process than I did, but might be helpful as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds7HjmJ5Yg8
Greetings & good luck!

Yes thats normal because as I stated before, Google Play services is not functioning on the new KFHD7 2013 model yet. So any actual Gapp (Google Hangouts, google books, etc.) will not function. Only self running apps like the XDA app from the Play Store will work.
@cruzersteve some apps do keep working, others do not. Even on the apps that seem to keep working, errors keep randomly popping up.
@LinearEquation... I know gapps won't work, I'm not referring to them. Like my screen shot showed, Living Social and Groupon don't work. Those are just the only two I can think of now, but there are others.

Download Manager
So i rooted my kindle, and proceeded to start hacking up the system. i hid my softkeybar in lieu of pie controls, and replaced the stock keyboard with thumb keyboard. all of this worked swimmingly until i tried to install the google play services. i backed up my download manager via titanium and installed the edited ones via another post on this forum. Now the play store does not work, nor does any other web interface for download (ie browser amazon app store etc)
Can someone please pull and upload
/system/app/DownloadProvider.apk and
/system/app/DownloadProviderUi.apk
or direct me to a link where i may download these files? Until i have them my kindle is pretty worthless
@cruzersteve warum hast du nicht frueher gesagt, dass du Deutsch bist? Danke fuer die Erklaerung, sehr einfach zu verstehen. Ich werde heute Abend versuchen.
PS Dein Englisch ist perfekt!

Custom roms for 2013 KFHD7 ver 11.3
Hi everyone! I've been scouring as many sources as I can looking for news of Cyanogenmod for the 2013 Kindle Fire HD 7" (ver. 11.3) and I can't find anything. I was just now able to root it, at least. Anybody heard anything? Point me in the right direction? I got this thing for Christmas and it's sitting there next to my Nexus 5 feeling bad for itself. I like the hardware, but that Amazon OS is *brutal*.
Rooting is quite easy, and there is a script in the forums. There are no Rom capabilities yet as no one has found an exploit to unlock the boot loader yet.
