your way works just as well, just longer to do...
...in the People hub, click the "...", should 'unhide' the Settings option.

Are you running Mango by any chance? I've just got the latest official OS. I definitely don't have the usual "..." in the people hub!?

Thanks

In your Inbox, click Menu -> Tools -> Options That should bring up the account setup screen and at the bottom is a box that says "Display account picker when opening Messaging" Unchecking that box should take you to your default email account.

[Q] I9000 Froyo -- no GMail Storage, where to set what to cache?

In Éclair I could tell GMail what to cache (for example in my Inbox everything from the last 31 days, and all my starred mails) at the Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Gmail Storage, but I've just updated to Froyo, and there is no Gmail Storage, just Gmail app, which can't be told what to cache.
How can I set now, what to download and keep for offline reading?
Really? Nobody knows?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Isn't this in the Labels section of the Gmail app settings itself?
No, I couldn't find anything like that. Do you have it on your device? Perhaps I just didn't recognize it.
Thanks

[Q] where are the facebook contact sync settings? dont want them sync'd

my brother just got a hero and it syncs all his fb people to his phone. he doesnt want this and i cant figure out or find a way to disable this feature.
how can we have it NOT sync? and how could he remove them? the phone is on stock sw.
it seems there isnt an option anywhere to sync contacts.
thank you for the help
Facebook (main page) -> Settings -> scroll down (right there)
the settings aren't there... thanks for the reply.
Goto People > Menu > View > and uncheck the box for Facebook.
Or you should be able to go to Menu > Accounts > Facebook for HTC Sense and then uncheck contacts.

I too have this issue, I cannot see my calendar (important), nor can I see any of my zoe's (not that they really matter).
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
For info, i'm on stock firmware with Telus (canada).
Right now all my calendar event are save in my Gmail account.
I tried saving the event in different calendar (tried theme all), and no one show in Blinkfeed.
Got it!

Spoke with HTC this is what they said...
"We appreciate you took the time to provide us with that information. To solve this situation w will remove the email account where the calendar was synced. To do so, please go Settings > accounts and sync > tap on the account > once it is open tap and hold on the bar where the name of the account is displayed and select remove. Now please set it up again and make sure the calendar will be filled. Now please go to Calendar > tap on the Three dots Menu > Accounts > + button > select account > fill the fields. Go to blinkfeed screen, Swap down slowly to reveal a menu > Tap on the three dots menu > Topics and services > slide to the left and select calendar.
Then you can check on the main screen of the blinkfeed and make sure all your events are being displayed there."
I did this, and rebooted and voila it was there.
One thing I should point out is that I had to add a 'Hotmail Account' (under accounts & sync) before it would work, simply adding my Sympatico account to 'mail' did not provide me with the same options. Also, you do not have to delete the 'mail' icon from your task bar/panel as it will start to grab your mail from the 'hotmail account'. Lastly, if there are no calendar events for 'today' you may not see the calendar event until it is the correct day. Hope this helps.
I am new to HTC so I can try to help you further if required but no promises. If I have broken any form rules please forgive me.
Cheers,

See in Calendar if event are there -> present
Go in blinkfeed, activate Calendar,
Refresh Blinkfeed : -> Only blue boxes and HTC hint.
Tried reboot, no change.
I also have hotmail account, but no calendar on this one. Tried with hotmail calendar ON, no change.

Can't get New Contacts to sync from Phone to Google

I've tried clearing cache, wiping, reinstalling a new Rom, new Gapps. No matter I try I can't seem to get new contacts which I create on my device to then get synced to my Google account.
*Yes, I'm saving my new contact to my Google account (not to my phone's SIM card)
*Yes I've made sure that Contacts is syncing, and have tried forcing a manual sync numerous times. It says that has synced, and will even download new contacts I create on my Google account (on a computer)
Any ideas?
Running CrDroid 7.1.2
Nexus 6
Which contacts app are you using? Not familiar with that ROM so I don't know if it might come with an AOSP contacts app?
In the google app, in the edit contact screen, right at the top (under the picture) is where it'll tell you where it is saving the contact. Just to double check that account is correct on the contacts that aren't syncing?
In settings -> apps -> contacts app, are the permissions all enabled? Is there more than one contacts app listed? If so, disable the one you're not using.
I think you said you checked this, but in settings -> apps -> accounts -> Google is contacts enabled? And settings -> apps -> accounts -> the 3-dot menu is auto-sync checked?
There's always the age-old; turn sync on/off multiple times thing ☺
The last thing I would try is to remove the account from my phone then add it back. There was a day when that process felt like part of the ROM flashing procedure. ?

First try https://mail.google.com to check if you logged in with the same account on your phone.

That was only to check the internet connection and access to your Gmail account.
The post of @ktmom doesn't solve the sync issue. In that case you could try to install the Google contacts app from the play store.
@NLBeev
@jon.s.nelson
I assumed that there was internet available since in the OP it was stated that contacts which had been updated online via a PC were being downloaded to the phone.
The choke point seems to be getting the contacts created on the phone to sync up to google. That's why I focused on app related issues, with the end point being a hiccup in the actual account on the phone.

Yes. The security update of September contains a new Google contacts app.
Good to know. I'm using PN and we don't have an update yet.
