[Theme]Virtuous 2.35.0 Blue Glass Transparent MOD - Desire HD Themes and Apps

Just some good old candy with lots of Transparency. Thought I would share my theme I use. This is made for the Virtuous 2.35.0 from the UOT Kitchen and graphic changes.
Thanks to M10 tools, Liamstears, kalagas, Capy and Virtuos team. May have to mount data and system in recovery before flashing. HTC weather lockscreen background modded, Htc People, mail, freindstream, weather widgets transparent. Status bar transparent. Plenty of color icon changes and alittle bit more.
Link dropbox.

Hi trock62, great work!!!
I've got a question about the "Personalize" button on the home screen. The one next to Phone. It has the Personalize icon but on button press it loads the internet app. Is this by design?
Also I've been looking for a better locking ring but can't seem to find one that works with VU 2.35, there are plenty that work with Android 2.3.4 but not in VU. Is there something about VU that causes a problem?
Thanks for a great theme!!!

Personalize button is set in the tweaks to an app of your choice. Change the lock ring is is fusion and idlescreenbase.sold using m10 tools

Very nice theme. I really like the spirit of transparency.
How can you put the wallpaper on the desktop lockscreen weather?
Again thank you for the great job.

1. Image needs to be resized to EXACTLY 540x960. You can do this in any image editor.
2. Flip the image upside down.
3. The images MUST be PNG format.
Once you have this done, you want to grab the IdleScreen_Weather.apk out of the rom youre usings zip folder. Its located in system/apps. Once you get the apk, you want to open up m10 and click load file. Navigate and select the IdleScreen_Weather.apk.
Once this loads, you want to click the tab that says m10 Files. At the bottom of the screen, youll see where it says Decode Images, make sure you check that box.
You want to double click the Lockscreen_weather_bg.m10. It will ask if you want to decompile it. Click yes. At this point, youll be brought to the next tab which is Editor.
From here you want to expand until you see Textures. Under there you will see three spots labeled Texture. Click that and it will bring up an image to the right. Right click on this image and click "Show in Explorer". You will see three png files in here. You want to replace each one with the images you created earlier. This is important though. Make sure you copy the name of each file youre replacing EXACTLY. Im not responsible for any errors you make on renaming.
Once you get all three of the images replaced, go back to start and then save .apk Make sure to use the same name.

If you're new to Windows mobile and don't have an idea how to make it work you should stay away from this modification. I won't help you anymore!!!
Features:
- Portrait and landscape mode (5 and 6 tabs can be used perfectly)
- White and black clockfaces
- Diamond theme file with original colors
Installation:
1. Download zip file
2. Deactivate HTC Home (Settings/Today/Items)
3. Copy all files from empex_Diamond_graphics to your device's /Windows folder
4. Active HTC Home (Settings/Today/Items)
5. Copy empex_Diamond.tsk to /My documents
6. Apply theme file (Settings/Today/Appearance)
To change the clock to the black one, repeat steps 1 to 2, then copy the files from empex_BLACK_Diamond_clock to /Windows and repeat step 4.
I've made some new icons for ringtone profiles (see the picture above). Download "empex_profiles.zip"
HHC pack:
Unpack the zip and copy all subfolders from that to the same subfolder in your device's HHC/FILES folder.
Cheers
Empex
Please donate my work if you like it. Thank you very much!
Thanks, but the font of the clock is best if it's going to be changed.
There's an other font face created by lpaso http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392998
but that is also different from the original.
No chance to make the original one, so you just have to use what you can find.
empex said:
Okay. You can find many diamond skins on this forum.
Mine is just one of them, with some little differences make it more similar to the original one (except the clockface ;-).
1. Deactivate HTC Home (Settings/Today/Items)
2. Copy all files to /Windows
3. Active HTC Home
4. Copy Diamond_v2.0.tsk to /Windows
5. Apply theme file (Settings/Today/Appearance)
You can use other clock faces from different diamond skins if you don't like this one.
And you can make a HHC pack if you want to.
Cheers

Of, course. Here it is.
By the way I can tell you how to get the background picture out from a tsk.
- Change the tsk extension to cab
- Extract the cab file (with file explorer or total commander)
- You will have some files like this TDYWAT~1.001
- Change the extension of the file to bmp or png and now you have the background as an image file.

[icons]WM 6.5 Black & Blue/Red/Green/Yellow/Orange/Purple/Grey Folder Sets [12/4/09]
Hello all,
Here's my little contribution to the community after having received so much from so many. I've been using these folder icons because I wanted something that went with my phone and I couldn't stand the default yellow ones.
If anyone wants something added to the set I'd be more than happy to do so, especially if they supply the icon to go on the folder

How-To
I recommend using one of several icon changing apps available at XDA. The one I currently use is JWMD's Icon Changer, and have used and liked Showaco's reSTART too.
CREDITS
The base folder icon came from the HydroPRO Icon Pack, which is floating around all over the net. Here's a link from my site if you just want to d/l it and not do all the searching. I got it from Vista Icons and it was written by mediaDesign at DeviantArt
Many of the other images I put on top of the folders are from the Alpha Dista Icon Pack, also floating around all over the net. Here's a quick link for that too. I got this from Vista Icons as well. It was written by Danial Flaco at Deviant Art.
The rest of the images were taken from various logos on the web, images I've come across, and stock WM 6.5 / ATT Tilt 2 icons.
Obviously, I make no claim to the original artwork and do not request any kind of credit (I only super-imposed the images I liked, after all) and I place no limits on what you do with this set. Feel free to use, distribute, alter, etc. etc. I'd suggest that if you are looking to sell any of it that you contact the artists listed above first

Hi wokwitme
In WM6.5 use reSTART by Showaco to reassign icons to folders. In this case image files must be placed in:
\Program Files\reSTART\icons\
In WM6.1 you need to convert icons into .ico files and then into a .dll library. once in a .dll library you place a link in the folder you wish to assign an icon to called icon.lnk. The shortcut of the icon.lnk file must point to the .dll library and the index number of the icon you want to be displayed.
There are better WM6.1 tutorials on the forum.
Hope that helps.
Cheers

Hi eknutson
I have nade an icon set of my own which I was on the point of releasing.
Unless they're copyrighted I'm going to use your blank folders as a template to make some more icons. Don't worry, I always attribute work I use.
If you'd like to support this, it would be great if you could send me a higher resolution source file. If you want a preview of what I plan to release please let me know & I'll PM it over to you.

I'm not sure if this was directed at me or what you're asking for here... The icons just go in a folder on the device of your choosing. I use "\My Documents\My Icons" for convenience.
To apply the icons for you would be very tough, a lot of people have their own layouts and organizations to folder structure. Unless you have the exact layout I have, automatically applying them wont work.
Did this address your question? Let me know, I'm happy to help any way I can

Bulk image editing (ie for drawable folder)

A quick tip to change the colors of hundreds of images in seconds, for example to make new versions of your android theme.
We are using a loop and a shell command that is technically an image editing software:
for i in $( ls ); do convert $i -modulate 100,100,160 $i; done
Results:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

You should check the documentation for further info (this thing, ImageMagick, does absolutely everything). But if you only want to change the color you have to know those three values in the example are brightness, saturation, hue. More.
I use linux but in it's website you can download binaries for Windows and MacOS too.
(Posted in my blog some time ago, link)
Awesome man, just used this to work on a personal theme. Works like a charm.
Technically this is good for easy color changes, you'll still have to manually fix the .9.png files to work.
I prefer to use the 'file>automate>batch' and custom actions in photoshop to do the same thing. Works like a charm, and if you know how to record custom actions you can get more than just color changes out of it.

What I normally do is open a single image from frameworks, open up the actions tab, hit record and record everything I do to that single image. Then save the action. Then personally I like to open all the images I want that same action run on and goto file>automate>batch and let it run the action i create on all open files. You can let the automate process save the files by itself too but I like to create a second action that just saves on its own. So I can review the changes before running the save action.

I love that action. Helped me to do the color change on your alien aqua icons and made it easy to make the remainder icon for the rest of the apps. Thanks for letting me borrow some of it. I love the white with the blue outer glow, it looks great in the purple and pink too
As far as I've tried it works fine with .9s too.
But yes, I'll have a look at that photoshop thingy next time I fire up windows

What I meant is that if you ONLY do the color shift/hue change on the .9 images, it will LOOK different sure, but it will look all stretched out and weird once you put them back on the phone. You WILL have to redo the .9.png borders and compiling on the new edited images once you do the color changes stated in this method.
(That is, unless you're working with source images, then its probably the best way to bulk edit all the images before compiling them into a theme)

[Q] How to theme for T-Mobile theme chooser?

I recently have been trying to create a theme for the T-Mobile Theme Chooser that comes with CM7. I pulled the cyanbread apk and extracted it and just began to replace the images with my own, until I came across some indexed images. Basically when I open these in photoshop it turns all the alpha transparencies to opaque.
Original Image:

}
After import then saved:
Obviously I can't work with this.
Is there a template or something that I can work with? Or an easier way? I'm basically just taking the best parts of a couple themes and putting them together, and editing the colors. I'm not smart enough with xml to write code from scratch.
Thanks.
I use gimp. It has a setting to change the mode from "indexed" to "RBG" or "greyscale".
When I run into those, I open them in pixlr.com (a free image editor that pretty much ignores permissions), save them, then re-open in Photoshop.

Thanks man, helped a ton.
Unfortunantly I keep running into speedbumps, anyone mind helping me here?
I have two themes at the moment, mine and another one. The other one replaces the widget icons in the notification bar. I like those much better than the stock cm7 ones. The problem is is that I can't just drag them and drop them from drawable folder from theirs to mine, as I'm assuming the XML in mine doesn't have any code to tell that image where to go.
How would I go about editing the xml file(s) to add support for theming of these icons? I have never really touched xml before, plus I haven't had any success finding how to edit any of the xml's in the apk.
Leave xml alone just drag and drop

Problem is is that the apk I'm using as a template does a ton of stuff I don't want it to, but some stuff I do.
Like it reskins the whole browser and shrinks the pop-up menu when you hold your finger on the home screen. I don't want this, and just deleting the images doesn't solve the problem because I get errors while compiling.
The only thing I really want is the ability to skin notification bar widget icons (toggle wifi, gps, etc). Haven't had much luck finding themes that do.
You still need to resign a theme.apk after replace new png files!
What key do you sign it with?
I've got a couple themes up and running right.now and would be happy to help. Do you use Linux, Mac, or windows? Do you have decompiled Apk's that you're working with or are you editing compiled ones?
With theme *.apk file, I can only replace the existing icons, then use apk manager to sign, i cannot add new icons into it!

You don't need the SPB launcher to get that theme. The 3D stuff in the middle is just that certain launcher. What you want is the notification bar theme right? I don't have it myself, as I don't use those themes, but I would suggest using the UOT kitchen and you can cook it yourself. It's pretty easy to figure out and get your own themes up and running.
http://uot.dakra.lt/
I took some time and threw together what I THINK you're looking for... it was actually quite a bit more work than I thought it would be, but I just tested this out on my Nexus S (i9020a) on the latest CM7.1 Nightly (b. 180) and it worked fine.
I'd recommend backing up your Androidian.apk just in case something goes wrong, or even a full nand backup. You'll need to push this apk to /system/app and make sure permissions are set properly.
Here's what I did to set it:
1 - Use Root Explorer (or another file manager with root access) and go to /system/app
2 - Make sure the directory is mounted as RW
3 - Rename Androidian.apk to Androidian.apk.bak
4 - Browse to where you saved the modified APK on your SDCard and Copy/Move the modified apk to /system/app
5 - Set permissions (rw-r--r--)
6 - Reboot phone.
7 - Once phone is back up, go to Theme Manager and select Androidian.apk and apply.
8 - Hope it works for you like it did for me
I really like this a LOT. I've been thinking about requesting for it too. Can I add to the request please?
@tehgeekguy - Can you modify it further to remove the horizontal dividers in lists? Especially in sms and the menu lists. Pretty much like Minimalbread and Lucid. Please?

@tehgeekguy - Can you modify it further to remove the horizontal dividers in lists? Especially in sms and the menu lists. Pretty much like Minimalbread and Lucid. Please?

You mind taking a screenshot of what you mean? To be honest, I don't use themes at all, but I could tweak it how you'd like if you can show me what it is you're wanting changed.
Hello, Im hoping to remove all those white lines. Especially in messaging. That horizontal divider in message list or menu items. Please see attached image.

I THINK I got what you're wanting. I attached two screenshots with what I've managed so far. This will basically remove those bars from anywhere they'd normally show up (Settings menus, Messaging app, pop up menus, etc...). The screenshots show the Settings menu and the Power menu (I clear my messages daily so nothing in Messages to show but a black window).
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten it to work in a theme yet, but I can get it working with a morph, or you can yank the files and merge them manually if you know how, it's not too difficult. I'll keep poking around the theme files and see if I can get this put into the one I uploaded earlier. The morph is NoDividers.zip (attached).
WOW! This $hi+$ AMAZING! I can't THANK YOU enough! Best thing about this morph is that I can use ANY theme without those pesky dividers! Really NEAT man!
I really recommend this to anyone who love David's MinimalBread and Sonny Sekhon's Lucid.
