W8 Stock ROM

Hi, my friend owns a W8. He want to use GingerDX but he wants to do everything by himself. So I guided him online, but now he has a problem. His phone is stucked at the Sony Ericsson logo. I have no choice but to call him to go to my place and do it for him. I have no idea what to do as I never did it on W8. W8 is the same as X8 right? So what do I do now?
What I have thought is relock the bootloader and flash back to stock ROM, but the thing is, I can't find any.
Any clues guys? Thanks!

You don't need to find any W8 ROM, just take his phone while he don't notices it. Then use PC Companion at home. When you find him next day, tell him that you found his phone on the floor or somewhere else. This is your plan!

yeah i do. first i have big problem in my W8 because i flash it into linuxDX and my network dont have any signal at all.. it was like 3 days of no network at all! well i figure it out when i try to read and summaries all the threads i found which is related to flashing and unlocking bootloader... now im enjoying my W8 with gingerDX v017 with LinuxDX, dont have any problem with it since i've done lot of trail and error basis to my phone.. risky but you will gain something from it..

Backup apps using titanium backup, then restore after you installed other rom.

You have stock kernel?if you are installing over gdx,i think it will not work.try to install kernel addons.zip in gdx thread,then try i think i fixed it that way.

i had same problem
you need to update your phone with pc companion and root again
then install xrecovery
and finally install gingerxperia

xperia x8 and ca-101 nokia data cable

Hi all,
I'm new to the forums, but have been browsing anonymously for about 1 1/2 weeks, before my xperia x8 arrived, hehe. Yes Im a total noob, am not affraid to learn though.
Unfortunately, when the phone arrived, it came with a Nokia CA-101 data cable and a no-name headset(have to press/hold the button on the wire to hear music loud and clear)
I can browse the memory stick and PC Companion 2.0 works with the nokia cable.
My question and concern is: can I root my phone and start unlocking it WITH THAT NOKIA CA-101 CABLE - to update android to 2.3.x(example GingerDX) ?
So far havent done anything to it, except playing arround in service menu and transfering media files into the 16gb sd card.
Phone details:
Sony Ericsson E15i
IC: 4170B-A3880091 BX9 11W20
OS: Android 2.1-update1
If need more details or pictures, just ask, I will provide.

EDIT: its not simlocked, but after official logo, it displays UK Provider Three logo(black tribaal '3' on white background)

thanks for the welcome mate, after playing with it for about 2-3 days, its already boring, because I dont have wlan here yet, im gonna buy one AP hopefully today. I havent found any other way to connect it to internet.
I've tried to identify is via S1 Tool(on USB#1), powered-off and back button pressed, but it keeps searching, doesnt find it. any thoughts? I thought it was because of data cable.
edit: no drivers for SEMC USB Flash, windows 7 x86, cant post link to driver yet

x8 update
I see no point (yet) in creating a new post, so I will continue in here.
I'll post my progress, maybe it will help someone else also
here's what I've done:
played arround with it for a couple days, got BORED!!! with android 2.1 and no root, no wlan.
phone details: Sony Ericsson E15i black ... 11W20, OS: 2.1-update1, version 2.1.1.A.0.6, baseband M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
- installed Gordon's Gate(needed drivers for X8)
- launched S1 Tool-> found out it was already unlocked with SETOOL2
- rooted with SuperOneClick
- x8toolbox-beta.4 - root 2.1(for rootexplorer.apk), clockworkmod & xrecovery, dual mode recovery - followed this youtube tutorial "UPDATE sonyericson w8 2.1 to 2.3.7 . v21,v22,v23 (GU V1)"
- downloaded "GingerDX-v022-update.zip" and copied to sd card root folder
- switched phone OFF, waited 1 minute(tip: take the sd card off), switched phone ON with back button pressed untill recovery menu loaded, did Factory Reset then selected Install Custom Zip from sd card and watched install progress, rebooted in GingerDX v022
- card was 'corrupted' so I formated it(I didnt care about the contents, new phone)
So far its running great, Im more than happy with it, but, as I kept reading the forums, I noticed some bugs:
1. when I rotate phone showing all apps icons, icons pile up on top of each other in top left corner
2. when I plug the data cable, and 'Turn On USB Storage', the sd card is unusable by phone 'Sorry, your SD card is busy'. Is this normal ?
3. before the update to GingerDX, I had installed dual touch from x8toolbox-beta.4 in Eclair, can I safely install it in GingerDX ?
4. battery drains a bit too fast, any help on how to improve/minimize battery waste ? I've deactivated the light sensor(was annoying) in menu and set display brightness to minimum(and still looks amazing)
Also, if you have any tips, please tell me - Im a NOOB eager to learn and want to use the full potential on my new toy, I mean phone.

Hi guys!
I really need your help! Basically I bricked my Sony Ericsson Xperia X8.
I was trying to instal V6 SuperCharger and did everything but after I rebooted the phone it just get stuck in the Sony Ericsson logo.
I searched on Google, on XDA and anything helped.
I tried PC Companion but it asks me at some point to do something in my phone but i can't because it doesnt start.
I tried SEUS but it also doean's work. When it sais to hold release the "Back" button it just get stuck.
I wanted to try Flashtool but I can't install it... i don't know why but I can't.
Tried 2 versions and nothing...
I beg you guys...please help this noob!

NOTE: mod, can you edit the title to "Bricked X8"? Sorry... my bad!

Use seus.
And choose repair phone.
Then hold back button while its off and plug the USB.
The notification light should be light upp.
And that should do the trick.

Yes you do have to root it again and install cwm recovery to install any ROM...

[Q] No signal

Hi I have SE xperai x8 with unlocked bootloader and gingerdx v.26 with alfs kernel. I didnt have any problem for 2 or 3 monthssince i use gingerdx v26. But Today while i was listening to music suddenly i noticed taht my signal strenght bar became gray with "x" above the bar like there is no signal.. So thats what it said on signal.I had perfect signal and suddenly it lsot the signal. I have been waiting for 2 hours still no signal. Tried to change the sim card still the same. I went to the options to see if the unlocked bootlaoder is the reason but no it doesnt find any mobile networks... You see here in Bulgaria we have 3 mobile networks it always find the 3 of them but now it doesnt find anything. Also the GPS doesnt detect any GPS Satellites!

Did you flashed addons ?? maybe that can help
Or else reflash rom and proper kernel

thought about this mate but i barely think its software problem because it wall happend suddenly. You see i have never had problems with this core or rom. Moreover when its a software problem it usually finds the networks but cant access them its different here whe n iclick to search for networks it sohudl find 3 but it donst find even 1. Also mobile network stopped working with the no signal bug and gps tooo...

Flash the kernel and ROM again..
just do it..and dont forget to backup first
than restore your data NOT your system
I have that prob last month when I was installed miniCM 2.2.1 and after I flash both, the signal work normally again :laugh::laugh:

OH MY GOD HELP I relocked my bootlaoder accidently while in alfs kernel now it cant booti t stays bacl screen and jsut vibrates whe ni click the button but than nothing. When i try to flash sth it enters flash mode and restarts after 2 seconds and keeps restarting :X while in flash mode and cant boot

Probably won't work but it's worth a try:
Try repairing your phone using PCC. or SEUS. disclaimer though, i have no experience with unlocked x8 bootloader.

This is for the last option! if didn't work to repair it using PC companion or SEUS
1. download X8 E15i 2.1.1.C.0.0._un.ftf from file crop and you willl get your phone on 2.1
2. prepare your flashtool and s1tool
3. make sure if your baseband is 015 and phone type is not 11w29+ !!!
4. root your phone by clicking padlock icon in the Flashtool!
5. install xrecovery with flashtool by clicking the cross icon
6. unlock bootloader using s1tool
7. flash the latest kernel (nAa or alfs)
8. backup
9. factory reset, wipe data, etc
10. Flash ROM (minicm or Gdx)
DOne!

1.relock bootloader with setool.
2. unlock bootloader with flashtool
3. this is it.
4. must work!

Plzzzz help me out.........................i jst bought new Xperia X8. And decided to unlock the bootloader.i used msm7227_semc....After using it my Network signal or Bar has red X sign on it..i hv tried relocking but still.pls help me :crying:

i hv already gone through that process...when i used da s1tool i had "NOT RECOGNIZED SIM LOCK CERTIFICATE".....and i continued by using the "msm7227_semc"..i turned da phone on and realised that the sim network is not working..but the phone bootloader waz unlocked.

Try relocking you're bootloader..
First get stock 2.1 back on you're phone as guided in the link posted then as 2010matej stated above relock you're bootloader using s1tool and then try unlocking you're bootloader using flashtool as in the guide and ya before unlocking check sim ock certificate..
