I'm trying to play Asphalt 6 but I have to download a 250mb package to play it. Unfortunately the download always stalls out about 25% of the way through and says a problem occurred. Anybody have a solution to this?
edit: Retried the download, it went 100%, and then still said that a problem occurred and wants me to restart the download. Such a hassle for a racing game...
normal for most of gameloft games.
I believe you must keep the screen on while downloading the data.
For me, fails if screen turns off or if I bring up another app
I left it completely alone with the screen on the whole time when it hit 100% and like I said, it still didn't complete successfully. Maybe there is a way to download it on the PC and then transfer it over?
If you have tried multiple attempts than go into your SD card and delete the stuff it downloaded and retry, you might have corrupted the data from your first attempt when you only got 25%. Also yes with all Gameloft games there is the inherent problem that You Have to keep your screen on or else it disconnects for some screwy reason.

I don't know exactly when this started happening (sometime in the past week or so), but very often when I want to download an app from the market (new or update), it will hang at "Starting download...," but won't show a % or any x/xxxx downloaded. Just the scrolling diagonal stripes. Sometimes I have to go back to the homescreen and wait, other times I have to just cancel it and try again.
Even after that, sometimes after the download is complete, it gets stuck at "Installing" and I'll have to start over again. Other times I leave it alone, and it actually finishes while still saying "Installing."
I'm running stock RUU 2.27.651.5 rooted, the only "tweak" I've done is removed some apks/odex files like Nascar, Peep, etc. Anyone have a clue as to what's going on?
This happens to mine as well. I have the latest OTA update and no root so you are not alone.
Keep an eye on it...the last time that happened with mine, the market had download problems.
when this has happened to me- (been rooted and non-rooted) I've tried to reboot phone and disable/re-enable mobile network.
Another thing I have noticed is one or twice when it looks like it is stuck, it is really doing something else in the background, too. I was thinking that my email or something else was being sync'ed or seomething..
This hasn't happened for a couple of weeks- at least for me.
Mine does it all the time, especially on wifi.. I just deal with it but it is a pain
I have this problem as well. In addition, the Market takes a VERY long time to load and the Downloads takes even longer. My wife has a Samsung Moment and she has also noticed a Market slow down since upgrading to 2.1.
I thought there wa something wrong with my phone but I guess it's a larger issue. Sure makes it pain to install apps while ROM-hopping.
Problem: ROM Manager in the market is in a constant state of "downloading", sometimes it will show its downloading going and reaching 100%, but then it just goes back to "downloading". IF I try to cancel the download, the Market force closes.
Ok, so I noticed this problem after flashing one of the CM Nightlies, so in order to try to fix it, I wiped everything, went back to RC2, problem still exists. I think it was caused by Froyo's automatically restore of apps. I would think that in the initial bootup, maybe turning off those options could fix it, but that would require another wipe. And I've already done 8 or 9 in the fast few days and am just exausted from re-setting my settings. Normally I'd use Titanium Backup to solve that issue, but every time I do a restore, it soft reboots.
Anyone have any ideas?

You know... actually I've been experiencing a similar issue.
At one point with Market it would take at least 30 seconds for anything to show up when I open Market. Then to look for any updates by clicking Downloads it would take another 30 seconds or so. Not a big deal. But then somehow and for some reason it started showing up almost instantly! I would download and install the updates but then Market would forceclose almost immediately after the app finished installing. It made updating or installing several apps almost impossible. I tried wiping the data, clearing the cache, clearing the dalvik cache, etc. However the problem still occurs but not all of the time. It's pretty strange actually. I'd say about 75% of the time I get forcecloses and each time I try to get a logcat I don't have the problem. Go figure.
i cant say whether is it a problem on my phone,cm6 or the games i cant download the sd files of gameloft games.Whenever i try to download it gives and error saying "download fail do you want to retry" something like this. please help me i really need playing the new glft games.
usually that is a stability issue.
Close all unnecessary programs, make sure you have a strong network signal, set screen timeout to 30 minutes, probably defragment SD card as well~ then try again. Don't turn off screen when you download by the way.

it wont work :/
i have the same problem here....
downloads takes a really long time to start, say, I try to download or update an app on google play, it says downloading and just stays like that for a long time, some times it does start the download after a while, the usual clean data/cache of google play doesn't work, sometimes normal downloads are affected, I faced this issue after a few days of buying the phone and only a factory reset solved it, my phone had an issue and it was replaced by a new one, after a few days of getting it I got this issue again so I can't be the only one
any of you got the same problem?
It's probably related to your internet connection.

Unlikely, i'm only facing the issue on this phone, and normal downloads work fine most times, only google play is always broken, and it works after a factory reset
I have the same problem, even after formatting the phone it persists, twitter media, google play downloads and even the system update do not start or take too long to load. Do you know any way to resolve this?

So, when I install a game to my phone, and it needs storage permission because it's large enough to need that, most of the time, if it's not used for a few hours, the game will not open again. I have to uninstall it and redownload to get it to work. Kinda seems to me like the device is continuously cleaning the storage or something and wiping the extra files needed for the game.
Anybody else have this problem? Or have any ideas what I can do to stop it?
I did reset my phone and run everything stock to test, even with only one game on it and nothing else after factory, it did it. Just not finding a setting that would cause this.
