Hi guys,
I have a strange problem with my Milestone, I had some problems with the touchscreen and did the oven trick, after that my phone wouldn't turn on only a blank screen.
I went into Flash mod, and reflashed my Milestone, after the phone boots my phone works just fine, until it's turned off or the battery is dead. If my phone is turned off I have to reflash it, and it will work fine until it's turned of.
I have tired flashing a new bootloader, i have tired all 4 of them but the issues remain.
Is there anything else that I could try?

milestone has a locked bootloader that means you can't change the kernel
if you change the kernel milestone will start after flash but after a reboot the phone check's if the kernel is signed and if is not, it will not start anymore.
questions.:
1. what rom do you use?
2. are you sure you have milestone a853 ?

OK.. First of all I want you to know that I'm not a n00b and that 99% of the cases I know what I'm doing with my phone but this is a weird one
Problem no.1: The simcard keeps on "disconnecting", resulting in disconnection from the network. Since the first seconds I start the phone it does this. Sometimes it doesnt even accept my PIN as being incorrect, but in the notification bar the SIM+! icon disappears for a moment. This is after I screwed a ROM and returned to stock using the OCD JF6.
Problem no.2: It wont master clear! No matter what I do, it wont do it. I tried since the first second when ODIN detects the phone. I tried it when it fully loads the ROM, it just wont go.
Background: Before, I had installed Froyo JPA i9000 ROM with Reoriented kernel 2.1.2 (voodoo lagfix+color, bln). Everything was soooooo fast on that ROM (with around 100 apps installed) but I wanted to theme it. So I tried to deodex it using xUltimate. I followed the (logical) instructions found in a post here and it didnt want to boot anymore... well, it did but in a FCs symphony.
I did what I believed is right and I returned to stock but I forgot to pull out the SIM card... then these problems appeared.
Gimme a hint what could I do. I'm asking first here because a working PDA without a SIM is .. acceptable but a totally bricked one is worse so before I take any steps further I need your opinion.
Thanks a lot.
No one?

Problem 1: can probably be fixed by reflashing stock with the SIM card *not* in the slot (that's about my only guess, never seen that).
Problem 2: master clear must be done with the phone turned on *NOT* download mode. the phone must be fully booted with adb debugging enabled in settings.
xUlimate: it's a poorly written application and it's success ratio is probably about 50/50, another tool to look into is auto-deodexer. Also, both the framework AND the system apps need to be deodexed to have everything play nicely (gtg taught me this one)
id experiment. from what i gather you were able to flash jf6 but it was a bad flash. does it still have download mode? maybe try to flash again and then try to master clear? maybe try to flash another rom, then try to flash back to stock?
this doesn't sound like anything anyone has seen before so your best bet is to just try something.
Thanks a lot for the replies guys!
The master clear was tried from all phone statuses (booting; finished booting; after the phone operated for a while) except download and recovery (i know is not suppose to be done from there).
I did reflash to stock without the SIM, same issue.
I will try flashing again some other rom. I'll try more and ill post the result here

OK, so, it seems that for some reason, after stock restore there were still remaining of XEE CSC in the phone..
I loaded the JPA back and now is all fine.
I am having the same issue, unable to clear with CWM or odin, or within the OS in either the stock rom or axura 4 or 5...
Can you please elaborate on your solution?
CSC looks familar to me, thats an ODIN file right? If so, what part of the phone would that be (kernal, modem, OS)?
What do you mean by load JPA? Odin package or CWM? WHole rom or specific parts.
thanks...this has got me stumped
Well, my issue is that I cannot use 2.1 anymore (any 2.1, tried stock Captivate and JM8 from i9000), I don't understand what is wrong but my first bet is that the /efs partition got changed in some way when I loaded JPA i9000 ROM.
Froyo works fine, any ROM I load give me full functionality but on 2.1 the SIM gets disconnected all the time and after a while the phone reboots by itself. Just to make it clear, I never had the usual Captivate reboot issue, it started when this SIM problem appeared.
Note: my product codes are fine, in both nv_data.bin and nv_data.bak the product code is finishing in ATT and my IMEI is available in both 2.1 and 2.2 and is correct, so no IMEI corruption here.
Could someone give me a hint?? Would flashing to stock with phone EFS clear help?
hi
I have got a Nexus ,just after i got it i unlocked and root it after it changed the Rom .
now it hangs most time for example when i plug the charger sometime it hangs and a big X with an open lock appears and i have no way else to remove the battery.
and some time when i use the GPS and navigation it restarts.
i have tried many Roms and Radios but even when i want to go to recovery it hangs too ,and sometimes no.
i tried to switch to ERD79 (fastboot commands)but i found out that when i finish it,still the radio Ver. is 4.06.00.12_7 .
when i change the Rom or radio it restarts and restarts and some time hangs again.
so please help me to solve this problem
thanks
Did you wipe the data?
yeah ,
every time i wiped data .
what's your version of Hboot and recovery?
HBOOT-0.35.0017
recovery Build RA-nexus-V1.8.0.1
really need help ,i can not use the phone .
it sounds like a hardware problem, but could you try a new ROM see if the problem is still there?
well ,last night i tried cyanogen 6.1 with radio 5.12.00.08 but still have problems.
how can i become sure about the hardware problem ?
is there any test or something like this ??
few days ago one of my friends told me to try RUU.
actually i don't know what is RUU and where i can find it.
i have searched for it and found some for desire but not for nexus.
i'm now hopeless!
aftrer of several attempt.. still BP panic persist..
this happens when i switched the baseband to telus believing that it would restore my imei and baseband since m using the telus mod..
but nothing happened so i decided to flash back to eclair.. but after the flash.. as soon as the phone boots... the BP panic... it just restarts the phone on an on..
even i flashed so many times.. the problem still persist..
how to fix this.. m really hopless now..
i could access the OR but even if i flashed other baseband still there..
is there any work around with this..
all help would be appreciated...
Why are you posting this kind of stuff to development section?
What is your current OS?
Type *#06# in dialer. What do you get?
Try flashing stock rom (2.2.1 froyo sbf, non-service version (http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone221)). See if it helps.
If not try rooting and update to kabaldan's 7.2.0 RC1. See if it helps.
If not go to settings -> device settings -> baseband selection and make a selection (do not change baseband through openrecovery anymore with this rom). reboot and see if it helped.
Have you recently acquired your device (Motorola Milestone A853?) as used? Did it work flawlessly when you got it?
Have you backed up pds while the phone (cell radio) was functional?
You have an unbelivable amount of problems with it. Perhaps you should stop modding.
i can only have the phone functional if it is nandriod but the imei is unknown and the baseband..
i'll try the non service version.. m currently downloading it now..
i acquire the milestone flawlesly... except for the camera which i have functional when i flashed back to eclair..
i tried to applied cm mod7 plenty of times but i got stock to bootload..
i never have a problem with my other milestone.. this one that i have m planing to sell it as soon as i fixed it..
i'll never try to flashed baseband again using OR..
i hope the non service version would help...
yes i have a back up of the pds.. i have backed it up using rood xplorer.. i have it in my sd card
m really hopeless now.. no stock room is working..
i downloaded almost everything on and-developers.. nothing works...
is there any way that i can fix this??
hopeless.. is this beyond repair??

Common Problems:
1. My SIM Card is not recognised after unlocking phone with msm7227_setool2.cmd!
Ans: Redo unlocking procedure (step 5 onwards) using msm7227_semc.cmd.

Maybe your phone is not carrier unlocked..
so thats why it is giving the problem..
some people have that prob because forget to wipe dalvik cache..
or u can solve by restore it with msm7227_semc (u can find on xda) and its work!
or forget flash kernel and rom without simcard in the phone
Well not sure whats gone on but what ever i do for that rom or a few others will not work yet i can flash and it works on different ones found that the blue one works fine and wanted others but i will keep on trying. Thx for the help tho will keep trying with the info posted above. Just cant figure out why works on soem and others it gets no signal
Hello,
I have a stock Bell HTC Raider, locked, unrooted, basically never touched, all original software and state. It is updated to latest OTA software.
I'm trying to wipe it and reinstall the stock rom because it is starting to act funny and I want to start from scratch.
I am trying to flash the version 3.5 bell RUU, and it will see that I have version 3.38 on phone, and RUU is same version 3.38, and when I click "next" it will go to screen which says "sending" and it will just hang there. The "sending" progress bar just keep incrementing continuously but nothing else happens. the phone is on the white HTC logo.
I gave up after 2 hours of this. Tried several times. Phone info is not wiped, same old ROM is still on it with my apps and everything.
I also tried to put the PH39.zip file for rogers on the card (can't find one for bell) and it gives me a "wrong CID, flash fail" error.
I'm running windows 7, I am admin on the PC, I also ran the RUU as administrator.
I installed latest HTC Synch, and I can open the phone as a USB drive and copy data to it, but I don't see it in HTC synch.
HTC synch does automatically launch when I plug phone in, so it sees something, but when I go to the "home" tab it says that no device is connected. I did select "htc synch" as the connection method on phone. USB debug mode is on.
Any ideas of what could be wrong?
Is there any working link for the PH39 zip file for bell?
each umaxces
Update:
in the mean time I bit the bullet and unlocked the bootloader (still S-ON), put WCX recovery on and flashed the cyanogenmod 11 *kitkat) rom.
That had the low call volume problem, so I flashed Holic's 1.3 ROM (back to ICS) which so far works perfectly.
So I am in fact able to flash other roms in recovery but I can't get back to stock using the Bell RUU.
If I ever want to return to stock, what do I do?

Might want to check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2013122 which explains:
How to run the RUU
1: Make sure your bootloader is re-locked and by using the fastboot oem lock code
2: Plug in your device and make sure you have the drivers installed ( or HTC Sync )
3: Run the RUU specific to your carrier and wait for it to load ( could take up to 20 min depending on your PC )
4: A box should popup on your screen and a progress bar will be shown ( wait )
5: Once it's done loading follow the steps to return to stock.
6: You are now unrooted
Been years since I did that. KitKat low volume? Are you running the latest nightly? http://www.chronic-buildbox.com/nightly/holiday/ Best rom I've tried and I've tried em all. (Can't wait to see what pacman can add to what Albinoman is doing an awesome job with)
I managed to return to stock using the RUU without problems.
I didn't do anything different this time, it's just that I wasn't trying to flash the stock ROM while already on the stock ROM.
Maybe that doesn't work?
you can close this thread now. thanks.
