Hey guys, I've looked for some time now about a navigator like igo primo or mobilenavigator europe but unfortunately neither of them seems to works giving crash reports all the time . So can you tell me please some working navigators, or what version of igo, mobilenavigator do you use on your OB ?
P.S: I would very much appreciate some download links
Using iGO and its perfect for me.
Sygic because of offline maps.
I may be wrong, but Google maps now has an option to cache an entire area, so it is in my opinion the best offline and online navigator available. To enable this option, just go to 'Labs' and enable offline caching.

I'm using Igo which is very stable and has a decent coverage. If yours crashes, you may need to contact the developer(assuming of course you purchased it. You did, didn't you? If you didn't, why would you expect stability on something you downloded on a random site which most likely contains malware?) I'm also using NavDroyd as it supports turn by turn navigation and supports OpenStreetMap which is awesome (pretty good coverage, better than Igo for my country imho). Also tried Sygic (Aura 3) which was working really fast and great, however, it has an absolute terrible coverage of Romania so I gave up on it.
For my experience, Sygic and Igo are navigators with a beautiful graphic but they wrong on several occasion the goal or the calculated route was not optimized. Now i use Copilot and also if it's poor graphically, until now I have always found the meta.

Does anyone know of any other GPS software available for the Kaiser I'm currently using TOMTOM but was wondering what others were available. I need it to have UK maps and I also travel to Florida fairly often so maps for there would be nice too.
I dont want this to turn into another " What is the best GPS software" thread. Just what is available out there and possibly a link to trial versions (if your feeling nice)

No NEVER!!!! use orange maps lol
Windows Live Search Mobile. Great software from Microsoft. Since you're UK based it has maps available for the UK and US. Hope you have a data plan though because it downloads maps on the fly.
I use a combination of tomtom, garmin, google and live search moblie....tomtom is more responsive, performance wise compared to garmin. Garmin is more refined and has some neat features.Bottomline, it all depends on personal preference.
Sygic McGuider
garmin seems nice. i know you can load your own custom poi's, and not be limited to 10mb like on a gps unit!!!
How about Navigon MobilNavigator.
I have been using it on my Kaiser ever since I got the Kaiser (I used it on a Herald, a Wizard and a Universal before) and I have always been very happy with it.
I find that the route planning is the best available.
Give it a try.
Good luck with your choice.
nebc100
I've tried a few different GPS apps and I think that the new iGO8 beats them all. Give it a shot... can't say anything about the maps in UK and US though.
Destinator...
Wayfinder - can subscribe to another country for a month or more.
did anyone had problems with wm 6.1 and igo 6 plus?
since i had instaled wm 6.1 (the official htc release) ..i couldn't reinstall igo 6 plus...

Totally agree, this is some great software, the maps are in great detail and the signposts/exit direction signs are lovely. Really easy to see. Then theres the TTS, best one yet - it actually says 'take exit off motorway, junction 3a' in a non robotic way. Its all good..
Google this - Sygic McGuider - and you'll find it..
I personaly use miomaps mainly becasue, you can put on whatever maps you want and all the United States are divided up. The program plus Florida maps is under 92mb
I use iGuidance 4, it gives you door to door directions and works well with my at&t tilt. I use GPS Utilities if I am out camping and hiking.
maporama is pretty good - used it on my i780
http://shop.maporama.com/index.php?cPath=43
but I use tt6 on my kaiser
My personal choice...
I've tried destinator, route 66, sygic...
was a staunch tomtom 6 fan until I got my hands on ;-) a copy of IGO 8 - it really has all the best features from all the other systems in one app. The speed camera support is phenomenal - if you pass the start of an average speed camera, it monitors your average speed and tells you if you go above it until you get past the average speed camera zone... and with static cameras, it only beeps if you're speeding, and keeps beeping until you slow down (Route66 is the only other that does this)...
There is also a Text to Speech engine (TTS) so if you want it to, it will actually speak the road names.
You can just copy the relevant files to your sd card and run it from there without installing it...
Message me if you need more info...
I'm wondering what GPS Navigation app is best for Manila, Philippines. I badly need help with directions, and Google Navigation doesn't work here yet.
Any suggestion free/paid (preferably free, but I doubt there's one)?
been searching for something like this as well.... nothing yet. our only hope is to get garmin to release software for the android (since they are releasing the garmin phone soon anyways). i believe only garmin has maps for manila... but even these are probably not official since the garmin website doesnt indicate that they have maps of the phillipines.
Yeah. I have a Garmin device, but I haven't seen a good enough map. I think, there are good maps out there, though.
I hope, we can extract that GPS navigation app from Garminfone
Sygic has maps for Metro Manila only for the Philippines.
Im also searching something like this... software that could support Malaysia map... need a free one... had anyone tried IGO for android?
Kumusta mga kapatid, now I'm not sure if this does include Manila, I was too lazy to read through this thread, all I know is that its supposed to be international navigation, so its worth a try.

The best Garmin maps for the Philippians are free and located here http://roadguide.ph/Download.html#
Will install fine on a Garmin nav only device, winmo, symbian, etc but do nothing for any Android phone that doesn't run a gmapsupp.img, which is every Android except the Garmin ones, at this point.
i've been using the google maps navigation hack for use outside of USA. currently been driving in singapore and I use it quite frequently and it works like a charm. you may want to give that a try.
As long as you can find a suitable map file motonav will use it.
wow
wil try this.. hope this works on my diamond..
Use Garmin Mobile XT
Mga Pre!!!
The best GPS application I am using right now is Garmin Mobile XT.. Its really cool on my HD2 and i found updated maps for Caloocan area, every streets are updated.. Im also enjoying it here at jubail City KSA.. 3 Thumbs up!!
Sygic Mobile Maps
I have been using Sygic Mobile Maps 10 on my N1 for a couple of weeks now. It has a map just for Metro Manila, so just like MapKing the map area turns black as you leave the Metro Manila area.
I find it pretty accurate for Manila navigation.
Hello,
Please do share where you got your 'hacked' google maps navigation' and/or how you installed it. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, that hack won't work if Navigation isn't available for your country yet. I'm on CyanogenMod, and this allows me to run Google Maps navigation, but because there's no data for my area (Metro Manila, Philippines), I still can't use it.

can you give me link for garmin mobile
using papago .
sent from my satellite , s6xmeup
by using the Navdroyd, i get an accurate navigation in manila area and even outside of metro manila
try Navitel v3.5 or v5.0 (for Android), roadguide.ph had given a standard Philippine map on Navitel users, similar map being used by Garmin softwares. Works great on my GT P1000.
will google navigation work in manila? It sounds like the maps will load but will the navigation work?
I need help setting up a g1 up for offline gps. I have an extra g1 that I have been using as a backup or for trying out new/experimental roms. I would like to use as a standalone gps unit for my wife and I've hit a few dead ends. I've got as far as downloading a mapnik usa map and I got an andnav2 apk but it says version is expired. Does anyone have a working version of Andnav2? Or is there another app that does nav with offline maps?
I suggest that you look into COPILOT. It costs $35 from the market, and gives you a world class GPS nav system.
I use sygic drive/navigon.
I also have Copilot. It is a pretty sluggish and the interface could use a lot of polishing.
I have not used the competitors products, but you can try Navigon as listed above, or NDrive. NDrive lets you install for free and download 7-day trial maps!
I was hoping to see a rip of Garmin's software from the Garminfone, but that looks like it won't happen. Garmin has great maps, and someone has already found out how to use Topo maps with their software! That makes this the only phone able to use Topo maps. I just hope to see it ported to other devices.
If you need turn-by-turn nav, AndNav2 only supports California. So that really isn't much of an option.
Thanks everybody! I'm running copilot now and it's nice, but can be a bit sluggish. Looking for a fast rom to run it as pretty much a gps only unit. Thoughts?
This site is freakin awesome by the way! I'm this close to setting as my homepage.

Homepage? This site never closes in my browser. Seriously, I have a window of threads open that I'm watching.
My eclair install CM5.0.8 runs faster than the older ROMs that I've tried. Froyo is supposedly faster, but I haven't tried it out yet.
Hi,
I am looking for a navigation app that can give me directions using arrows and voice and the maps are offline. So I do no have to connect to the internet any more with support for saving my own places (restaurants, hotels .... etcc)
thank you

You can also try Papago X5. Its working like a charm on Gingerbread.
Give a try to copilot
For me there´s no replacement for Garmin because of the lackage of detailed maps of my country for the mentioned gps software (Papago, Igo, etc). That´s why I´m stick on WM and using android SD
I tested Papago, it´s a good gps software but the only maps I found were very basic, so...
In fact, I´m considering buying an android phone and a cheap Garmin gps (like nuvi 205).
I use CoPilot, also bought the license .. its the best navigation !

iGO free on the market??? Where?
Otherwise, i like iGO a lot. Everything is like 20x faster than Garmin and interface is nice.
But still nowhere to beat Garmin. It will show your position only on roads, voice navigation is a bit weird and it's nowhere as customizable as garmin.
Garmin announced software for iOS, but it will be online, so why bother. They failed completely at smartphone area.
sygic aura for sure

Let´s stay in family, why not to use Google Maps which includes Google Navigation...also you can download full Google Maps (and lots of other maps) with Locus (market free)...
For Google Navigation just search for BrutMod Maps here in xda, or flash Hyperdroid...
wow nice. I never used google navigation since it needed data (i don't have data plan) and was not availble in my country anyway.
Is there a way to cache POIs, so you can search through them without internet connection?
Co-Pilot is good for UK coverage and you can de-activate WM licence and re-activate it in Android.
It also has a real time traffic option (only cost me £10 per year)
Bought the USA version for holidays for $10 and same for USA traffic great value compared to buying a TOMTOM/Garmin device
Co-Pilot looks the same as well on android as WM so easy to use and you use androids keyboard rather than abcd keyboard on WM
I prefer it to WM TomTom tbh as it is multi touch even in WM but TomTom device's HD Traffic is the best I have seen
I second Copilot Live 8. US-only for Android is a mere $4.99 at alk.com. Other places are all reasonably priced. Works perfectly on my HD2/Android 2.2.1.
I have HTC HD2 install android CM9, everything OK. but have problem with sygic_navigator_11_2_6 application (file attacked). it was installed in my device, but when i run. it just show program icon and out.
please have you tell me how is that?
thank you!
I had a problem with getting Sygic to run on ICS ROMs...I did a clean install of Nexus HD2 ICS CM9 HWA v2.3 ROM and then I updated to the latest version of Sygic which is the same as yours and problem was sorted. Hope this helps.
Hello Tuaa11,
I'm using this rom: [9.Jun.2012] NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.3 (Kernel: tytung_HWA_r3) and i have Sygic installed and it works flawless.
I use version 11,2,5 build R-32564 and it navigates very well..So it is possible. I guess this is what you mean with Sygic Navigator?
Looking forward to help you.
Greetings,
Arjan
PS. Just for the info, don't forget to download the maps first with Sygic downloader or else i guess it won't start up. (I think you already knew but just for the info)
I run Sygic 11.2.6 on NexusHD2-ICS-CM9_V2.2 (Tytung kernel r3).
It works perfectly.
A bit of a slow starter, but once up and running, Sygic runs perfectly.
No problems at all.
By the way, on NexusHD2-ICS-CM9_V2.2, and NexusHD2-ICS-CM9_V2.1 it ran perfectly too on my HD2. About older versions I don't know as I hadn't sygic installed then.
I've been using Sygic Aura (got legit licence and everything) for about 2 years now on various roms most recently the last four NexusHD2 builds - everything works fine for me.
Don't mind me asking, how is this compared to the cracked google maps?

Agreed. I've got a Tom Tom XL Europe which is no longer used as I use Sygic on my phone instead. It starts up quicker, the lane diagrams and voice instructions are by far superior. I've also compaired this against Navigon and CoPilot. :good:

Yes, i've try Copilot too, and Sygic is better for sure.
Sygic GPS Navigation v11.2.6 work great with GB and ICS roms.
i only keep winmo 6.5 for the gps. i have been waiting for winmo 6 on sd since forever which would make my HD2 even more perfect than it is already
for me anyway
igo 8 winmo > tomtom > igo 8 android > sygic
i did try copilot but for me in the middle east the maps are hopelesly out of date
keep that in mind when recommending an offline gps nav program, the fairly minor differences in interface are not much use when the maps are 2 years old
thanks everybody
its really ok.
Because i downloaded a file install apk have problem, i installed again with google play and its still cant run. the last, problem is not enough memory for program was started, i dont know i have more 30Mb internal storage.
I think sygic realy the best navi program, now
thanks for your help
