I had posted earlier this weekend about the camera problems after rooting the Bionic. I would like to know who else is having this problem after rooting their device.
I could not confirm that the both the cameras were working before rooting but after rooting the front camera stopped working. If you are a user of a new Bionic and can confirm that you had both cameras working before root and then after you rooted the front camera stopped working. Please post your comments below.

Im rooted and both my cameras work.
What I have noticed after rooting is that when you reboot some installed apps will be missing. Two others have reported this problem on rootzwiki.

Would those missing apps cause the camera problems?
I am rooted and never checked my front camera before rooting. I tried it just now and it works just fine.
Have you removed any bloatware from the device? If so which onces? I am affraid to re-root my phone because the camera will stop working again.
It did manage to get it replaced
You aren't the only one with camera problems. I doubt that rooting had anything to do with it. I had to return my bionic because front facing camera was not functional and after posting it on another forum, there are other users with problematic front facing cameras.

I am having a problem with my wife's, Atrix HD. This just started out of no where with no changes or updates in phone/. When I open the camera app i just get a black screen with the controls but no camera image, the controls respond (change colors when pressed) but don't do anything and I never get a camera picture. after a while I usually get a camera is unable to initialize error. I have searched and either no one provides a solution that I haven't tried or theirs messed up after flashing a custom ROM which I haven't done. I have tried all the factory resets, clearing cache, clearing data in application management for camera and gallery and none of it helped as other have recommended. Out of frustration I rooted her phone so I could experiment with uninstalling the camera (and gallery) and installing other versions of camera (and gallery) from other phones/aosp/android versions ext. and then re-installing the stock ones all to no avail. I know that the all the cameras were working just a week ago and that the front facing camera was working in oovoo even after she started having trouble with the rear camera, but I cant get either of them to pull up now. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem? I am leaning towards either a hardware issue or maybe the camera firmware was corrupted somehow and if this were the case does anyone know how to remedy it?
Let me know if you need any more info.

Got a strange issue here. My camera was working fine on JB (stock rom & also on KnoxRaid 2.6). After the kitkat v2 release of Knoxraid I decided to give it a try. Everything is perfect except whenever I open the camera I get "Warning - Camera Failed". I restored back to mj5 thinking it was maybe a hardware thing but no, the camera works perfectly on stock mj5. So I decided to test Knoxraid 2.6 (non kitkat version) and again, camera work fine. I have asked Drakeymcmb what he thinks about the issue, but I think it has even him stumped. He suggested I try the other kitkat rom leaked by designgears. So again I restored back to mj5 and then tried the designgears leak. No luck, camera failed. I have wiped my internal memory and tried everything I can think of. I am hoping maybe someone has run into this issue and knows a fix?? Please help!! Thanks!
Not having any camera failing, but I'm experiencing a pretty substantial lag after taking a photo.
When i hit the shutter button, my screen will say "Processing". If the camera moves AT ALL before the "processing" is done, the picture will be blurry -it almost looks like I've moved the camera during exposure.
Anyone else having this problem?

I notice that as well. I just turn the smart stabilization off and problem solved. Turn it back on when you wanna take pic in the dim light situation and be prepare to hold the phone still.

Hello everybody.
I have been having a strange issure with my i9295's camera, and thought I'd get some feedback. For a long time I used the 4.2.2 rooted firmware and everything was fine, but then I broke the screen and replaced it, and decided to try using custom ROMs.
Now, I'm not sure if it is related to me taking the thing apart and putting it back together, or just from using custom ROMs, but the issue seems too convenient to happen on three different versions, with three different stock camera apps.
My problem is now, that whichever stock camera app I try to use, the phone will freeze for 4-5 seconds when taking a photo, and will completely freeze and make the camera inaccessible to any app until I restart if I try to shoot using HDR. I tried some random 4.42 version, Paranoid 4.4.4 and now CM12 5.0. They all had a different type or version of the camera, but all the same issue. Yet I have no issues using CameraZoom FX. I'd just like to be able to use the stock app for it's features and speed.
Is a non-working stock camera a known issue, is it a convenient software bug that happened to be in the exact 3 roms I used, or is there a possibility that I damaged the camera module when I disassembled?

I already install UltraPop ver1.3 and ver1.4.1 with ver 1.3 before It's still ok. But after about 3-4 days using this. the front camera stop working. and then I flash ver 1.4.1 but still my front camera can not work.
The back camera is doing good, but when i change to front camera it's freeze and then crash. Does anyeone have this problem like me. Or someone know how to fix this. Do I need to flashback to stock rom?

The front camera may be damaged. You can clearing out the camera app's data and see what happens. If not, you may need to replace the front facing camera.
I had the exact same issue with mine after a month of having it. I formatted and restored factory default and brought it back to sprint store. They replaced the camera and it still didn't fix it so they ordered me a new one. Worth mentioning I didn't pay the $75 repair fee, I don't have insurance, they just replaced it for me completely free because it was a manufacture issue. They did mention that I was supposed to go through LG for this issue but they didn't hassle me. Also worth mentioning that my device was not rooted and I had made no changes other than downloading normal apps.

I recently bought a a fairly used Z1 from a local dealer.
After a few days of use, I started noticing that the rear camera randomly gets blurry for distant shorts. Nevertheless, if you take close up shots i'ts fine. The front Camera is also fine.
At first I wondered if the issue was with the Background defocus app, I installed. I have removed it cleared the device and camera cache but the camera is still as it is.
Also some days the camera is fine with no issues as I've taken great photos with it.
I need help to sort out the issue if it's a hardware or software issue and if I can fix it or I should return it since I have a 3 months of guarantee.

did you try to clean install latest stock rom?
clean install means to wipe everything and flash the stock rom
Try Google Camera. If it keeps getting blurry, it can be a physical problem.
