Before installing this theme you must have the Lite version of JF 1.42 RC33, which can be found here.
This is my most complete theme thus far which includes icons, a menu bar, status bar images, etc. (Even a custom blue android during bootup)
My wife directed this theme and gave tips which probably made it better
If theres anything you notice that needs to be corrected or if you have suggestions, please leave feedback. Thanks!
Download - Theme (Updated - 2/18/2009)
Download - Wallpaper
Updates:
- Trimmed bottom line from menu launcher.
- Changed menu launcher arrows to white rather than transparent.
- Corrected folder distortion.
- Corrected Wallpaper Gallery crash.
- Corrected landscape mode menu arrows. (New)
downloading now, will give feedback after I gave it a good walk through...looks great from the screen shot.
there is no pictures icon....other than that its cool. really slick and i love the clock.
Any chance on going systemwide with this likethe buuf themes and the vintage themes? cause this looks realllllly good.

Thanks for the feedback, yea i'm having trouble finding the pictures icon file lol, still searching though. I do plan on going systemwide and adding more to it little by little.
well keep it up....great work.
Im also not personally a fan of the status bar. but only because im not a fan of gradients, doesnt really detract from the theme at all.

I've located the pictures icon and will have an update in a few mins. I'm pretty sure i'll be changing the status bar and drop down bar to match the clock a bit more.
aiight, love the changes...one flaw now...the top bar for the folders....must be coded wrong or something because once selected it becomes distorted severely. I'll post a screenshot.
Thats why we dont edit .9.png files, unless you know the technique that someone has posted here somewhere.
well hopefully he figures it out or someone helps him out with it....its a good theme. and if he figures it out and goes system wide it could be a GREAT theme.
Up until this point, I've never seen a theme that looked slick enough to actually use, without being too niche. I've been tirelessly searching for a theme that just looked good, but wasn't too over-the-top. However, this theme struck me as just that, and installing it as my first theme, I must say I'm impressed.
I only have two complaints -- firstly, as mentioned, the top of the folder menu becomes distorted when selected. Secondly, I would like to see the blue color scheme more deeply integrated into the phone, replacing the orange color when making a selection, if possible. I recall seeing it in a theme somewhere else, so I believe it can be done. I know working with the .9. files are tricky, but I feel that with a little more effort, this can be an A+ theme.
Changing the music icons (Artists, Albums, Songs, and Playlists) would also be nice, if only changing the icons from green to blue.
Also, I find the background to be just a little too much. I think this one would make a good default; it meshes nicely with the color scheme:

Thanks all for the feedback, its appreciated. Ill definately fix up the folder bar and start incorporating some additional icons to the music window & player, etc. Ill post an update soon today with the changes for the folder.
Excellent looking theme, honestly its beautiful, but I always have trouble downloading from megaupload so maybe if you could change the filehosting site to something more convenient that would be awesome. Don't stop making themes, you clearly have a gift 8D
I generally don't post a lot of feedback. I have just recently started my first theme. And didn't feel that posting feedback till I was contributing to the site was truely justified. (My upcoming theme is a US Presidential theme. With heads of presidents as icons....hopefully I can manage it.)
Back on topic now. I love the theme. It is my newest downloaded theme and my favorite. My only notice is when you go "menu" "wallpaper" "wallpaper gallery" it force closes android desktop. When I choose pictures instead of gallery it works perfect. I know its small, but thought I would let you know. Even with this, I love the theme. Wife wants to know if you have it in Pink, lol. Keep up the great work.

One other issue I've noticed with the theme is that on the very, very bottom of the home screen, there's a bright blue line going across horizontally -- the top of the pull-out drawer. While this may have been your intention, I personally find it a bit distracting. Just my opinion. I feel the theme would be a tad bit better-looking if the line was simply not there, like with the stock appearance.

in portrait mode the arrow on the app slider drawer tab is off center.
other than that...the wallpaper gallery and the folder fix everything seems exactly the same.
still a great theme.

Lol, send me a screenshot.
As far as the arrow in landscape mode, I'll fix that up as soon as I'm back home. I'll have an update up at about 2am most likely. Let me know if you notice anything else so I can patch it up too. Thanks.
So i have been trying to get a black background that is truly black.
everything i have tried has left a slight hue on the background. back 2 black is not supported or i would have tried that.
is there any way to get background to remain off completely and only light the pixels for the icons, clock, notification etc etc. i notice the info bar at the top is darker than my black background and no matter what i cant get the background to go completely black.
my reasoning is if i make the icons into line art, and keep as much of the screen off wherever i can i can stretch battery life even further. it worked wonders on my gs2. But having a slightly glowing background ruins all that.
I'm not sure whether it's supported, but you can try making a monochrome bitmap-file (.bmp) in MsPaint. At least you are sure this way that the black is truly black.
Have you tried using different launchers? Are you sure the hue is not just your icons giving some 'bleeding'?
thanks, i will give that a try.
its the same with go launcher and touchwiz. its actually magnified on the lockscreen showing lots of banding.
Try this pic. I use it on mine and looks black

My first Note did this so I sent it back. My new one does not do it.
still no luck, apps with black backgrounds look fine.
i tried an all black bitmap and that didnt work either.
is there any way to turn background off and just leave it blank? would that give me a pure black background?
like i said i dont think its a hardware problem since the app backgrounds look deep black unlike the wallpaper. i did see something about the note only being 16 bit and that was causing weird display issues due to scaling or something, blah blah.
its using 24bits
thats right, the note is 24 bit and the os operates in 16 bit currently, right? either way i need to find a way to fix it.
I used a plain black GIF. Works fine for the home screen background, but on lock screen it has barely noticeable dark gray lines in it until you touch it and the unlock symbol appears.
here is the one i made
this black is one color 24 bit png on my note it is completely black at any brightness. let me know if it works. 800 x 1280 black correct dpi blackground

or download "no wallpaper" from the market - simple app that just adds a wallpaper that is totally black. Works a treat.
Try an app called COLOURS by Tim Clark
Are there any AOKP themes specifically for the captivate?
Search the market or xda for "cm9 themes" All compatible with aokp's theme chooser.

ButterCream and Dark - two themes I know.
Feel free to theme on your own and save your art - we haven't many artists here.
I like the color picker in AOKP, but I was surprised that you pick and choose each color separately for time, signal, etc. There is the hard-coded button to recall the ICS holo blue. I would love to see another button that stores a user selected color instead of copying and pasting the hex codes, although that works. And then the wireless signal is a graphic image that you cant change without flashing a .zip to modify system png and the like. I wondered if it could be coded to use a triangle with a fill color based on something from the color picker, and then lay over top of that grey or black bars for the part that should be 'off'. maybe layers arent possible? tho it appears that they are being used, and i have seen overlap of the data signal on top of the wireless bars. right? I know there is a LOT of stuff these amazing developers are working on which keeps them very busy already. These are just some ideas
I noticed looking through some of the code in AOKP gerrit for the theme chooser updates, that they started using variables instead of a hard coded ICS holo blue color. but it seems as if there is no user interaction for that color, its still a hard coded value set in a single location instead of being hard coded in multiple locations. So it is a huge improvement Im sure for themers who have to try to search out and modify every instance of those values. I would just like to see it progress to something where the end user can modify that variable from Rom Control.
It would be even more awesome if Android used a system wide style sheet setup. background, checkbox style, text color, font, font size, perhaps it could even include specs for headers, paragraphs, tables, titles, etc. but that would be WAY more than I am thinking. It certainly works nicely for web design tho.
This would then be something that other apps could also read and implement into their design as well. Then we wouldn't have to create hacked SMS and google play, and tapatalk, etc, etc, etc. to make them inverted or red, green, orange, blue, yellow, etc.
Of course having an option to over-ride those settings is cool too, maybe you want an all orange theme, but you want white on your keyboard keys. a keyboard app could have a selector built into its settings which allows you to follow the system setting or pick your own base color, or go with the developers default choice. There are a lot of great developers out there who make gorgeous apps that deserve to keep their defaults, ie. 1weather. So I am sure apps would ship with their own defaults turned on, so the user is guaranteed the experience they intended.
I do think these ideas seem inline with what google is trying to accomplish with their unified design standards.
I am imagining a day where I can change my wallpaper and then open settings, use a color picker (maybe even one that can pick a color from the wallpaper ... Then maybe choose black or white, or gradient or transparent background. Two steps, and just that simply and quickly my whole system is color themed to compliment. Then using Tasker this could even be automated for work, home, weekends, etc. LOL.
Ok iphone, take that!
This is an idea I have from my experience using themes on my Samsung Captivate. My experiences i describe apply particularly to the AOKP builds for that device and a few others. However the concepts are something which would be implemented at a system level and I think it would be applicable for any Android device, so I wanted to share it here in the general forum as well.

I know I can't be the only one who can't read some notifications in direct sunlight now that the Pie / One UI update has "gifted" us with colored notification icons on the Always On Display (AOD). This article here shows the comparison I'm talking about, under the date on this AOD screen:
https://www.sammobile.com/2018/10/18/always-on-display-android-pie-update-samsung
The first picture has the MUCH easier to read white icons and the second has the awful colored ones. I use The Weather Channel app to see current temperature on the notification bar, and it switches between blue and red depending on the temp. It is a small number by design and when it is in color, it is HARD to read when there is any sort of ambient light around, IMPOSSIBLE to read when sunlight hits the screen!
I cannot find a single theme or setting on the phone to change those from colored icons to white. There are themes that show white icons but when loaded, Samsung's One UI takes over and colors them. I see the setting to change the color for the clock, and that too is not what I'm looking for. The color and date are both in white on the AMOLED black screen, I don't need colored notification icons, this should NOT be this difficult to figure out how to do! I'm using current version on my AT&T Note 9, no root. Thanks in advance if you can shed any light!
Same problem here...couldn't find a solution yet! Let me know if you get one, thanks!
I second this. I want simple B&W AOD like it was at the beginning. The coloured icons on AOD is a very bad idea.
Is there anyway to downgrade AOD app or apply a patch?
Please take a look at the attached pic - this looks awful, very cheap.
Thanks.
Also trying to find a solution to this...on the S10 it's even worse because there is no notification LED. And now the AOD icons are barely visible !
Since yesterday, i'm on CSDJ maisecurity Patch. But i dont have colored Icons on my AoD ? Also have no settings to activate or deactivate colored Icons. May Icons are grey/white like back in Oreo. So i ask myself, is this function maybe limited to specific devices ? Or are you guys on a higher Buildstring then CSDJ ?
*Edit* My (ex) Note 8 has this colored Icons too. But not for my Note 9.

I'm on CSE1 May 1st security patch, which (correct me if I'm wrong) is after CSDJ based on alphabetical order, and still have colored icons. Not sure the patch or software version made the difference, something else must have!

I'm on Galaxy S10 and the April update. I haven't update anything now since I'm traveling, will update on Friday when I get home. However a few days ago I update some apps and now my AOD icons are dark gray for some reason... Can't really see what it is and I have 20/20 sigh. Let's hope for a resolution to this.

Yes your String is higher than in my DBT. Maybe this is the reason why i have no colored Icons. Anyway this Build is absolute bad. Laggy performance on the whole Device. Rolling back on CSDE >.<
I disabled AOD becaus of this. It's stupidy that we can't customize it
Same here. So annoying! Basically Samsung support answered my question saying that for now you cannot change the color. Wouldn't hold my breath though.
