to have root you have to flash CF-root kernel or semaphore 2.5 not 2.7.4
Cf-root kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
semaphore kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112908
then from cwm flash your favor ics rom
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
i am noob at these things..
Is there a tutorial or something??
Will my device goes off?
EDIT:

yes, just choose xxjvo from cf-root kernel thread or flash semaphore 2.5 and it will work
i understand the method!
I read somewhere that SF-root works only with I9000XWJVI and I9000XXJW4.
That's why i previously ask if this work with i9000XJVO.

Thanks! I just rooted it!
Can i install CRT Screen for jvi?
I found a similar thread:

But the windows link is broken and I am also looking to get my phone back to stock for exchange. Is there a thread for unrooting and bringing droid 4 back to day 1?
if phone is running ics it can not go back to gingerbread
if phone is running jellybean it can not go back to ics/gb
links to xml/rsd lite instructions/links and droid 4 utilities
in my list
sd_shadow's [Collection] of Links for Droid 4
after flashing xml file, you need to check android recovery
to see if it still has the root code 'qe1/1'
Sent from my XT862 using xda premium
---------- Post added at 12:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:43 PM ----------
If you see “qe 0/0″ you are running a device that has never been rooted. If you see “qe 0/1″ you are running a device that was at one time.
If you see "qu 1/1" device is currently rooted.

Hi guys,
I bought an Mi5 from China and I need to get the battery replaced for the same. The service center however couldn't make a job sheet for a phone bought outside India. The only workaround can provide is they are willing to give a battery if I can provide them just with an IMEI number for an Mi5 bought in India.
Please help guys!
DM me..
you can change the battery in local shop , Check ebay

Try aliexpress. You can buy 3rd party batteries with some extra fuel. (ie : 3700 mah batteries are available with good user ratings)
Hi everyone, I got the RM3 as soon as it came out, got it from the UK redmagic shop, so with the Global ROM, I know it's only been about 3 weeks, but the security patch on my device still shows March the 5th, is everyone the same?
I'm thinking of changing to the chinese ROM, for the extra features, but I have some questions:
- Do notifications work as normal? Or is it like most Chinese ROMs, where apps get killed as soon as the screen goes off?
- Is it possible to flash GAPPS through TWRP and have them working as normal?
- Is the security patch more up to date compared to the Global ROM?
I't s a great device, but it needs more polish on the Global ROM at least and a proper GCAM port
Hi, really CN version is better than EU version because it has more options and work fine.
Gapps is possible install but Gmail work a little irregular however it is worth it.
About security patch is the same how you can see in the screenshot .
There is info about differents.
