Ok, I guess i'm going to move back in to Revolt.

Thanks guys! Anything to figure out how to squeeze a little extra life out of the battery is good. I haven't been running ATK lately because I didn't think it was necessary to kill running apps with the new android version but I may have to rethink that decision.

So much more battery life
"On the way to an Iconic Revolt"

Didnt know people still used ATK... I stopped back on my original Droid with 2.2 came out

Another great program to use us Autostarts off the market. Its well worth the 99cents and time for set up. I've had it through four android phones. Basically it lets you control what apps start based on system events and triggers. Love it!
Sent from the edge of sanity from my Revolting LG Revolution 4G.

Using atk and setcpu. I wiped my battery stats when I changed roms last night at 6pm, just got my low battery warning 3pm the next day. Almost a day with much use, as could be seen by the amount of posting I did
The 1.4 ROM is very nice

New "best" Android music-app --> Songbird! :)

Hey folks!
Just have (unintended) found the new Songbird App in the market...and impressed as I am, I thought it would be worth sharing the news (while hoping that not everybody here knew the app before me?!)
Coming from PowerAmp, I´m really overwhelmed by it´s functionality and look and feel (not that straight Iphone clone many of these other musicplayers are)...just try it yourselves-- https://market.android.com/details?id=com.songbirdnest.mediaplayer&feature=search_result
...one thing: the baby hasn´t an EQ...I hope they will integrate it with the next update, than it may be a great warrior to throw PowerAmp from it´s throne

Nothing wrong with PowerAMP - I thing so. Currently, I use it and is the best for me.
I guess everyone likes something new. A lot of people like the changes.
Besides, competition creates development

Absolutely nothing! I´m just not really touched by the design...and the very important difference, beside what spalm has meantioned before, Songbird is for free!
Hmmmm still prefer winamp to the rest. Prefer the Widgets and lockscreen. Hyperdroid rom has nice music quality so don't need power amps eq. Worst comes to the worst ill just use dsp

I checked the application.
It's simple, clean and looks good. I do not know how to download the cover - is it even possible in this app. Small personalization options. For me, there are several things missing in it. But it is a good alternative because (what brooon has already wrote) it is free
For me still the best is PowerAMP

Try it out, and tell me things that will make me better. If you think it is good than please rate it, and leaving a comment saying so on the market. If you think it sucks, than please send me an e-mail or PM about why you think so. Thanks!
Tried it. Couldn't get it to do anything though. When I press it it doesn't tell me anything. Other than that, unless its just me, I would suggest making it into a widget. If it were a clock widget that you could press to hear the time (for those sunny days where its hard to see the screen) then it would actually be a pretty handy app for this and other phones with smaller low resolution screens.

I just don't understand. Cm7 tiamat 1.1.4 smartass v2 newest radio and matching ril, no wifi and background data turned completely off. This is significantly worse than any other rom including stock. Any ideas?

Charge to 100 percent then delete battery stats.

I've calibrated the battery twice since installing CM7 in the past 4 days. I am even underclocking with Incredicontrol at -75, but to no avail.
HMM Android system is chewing through battery.
I'm not really sure why.

Ooh God no...
Mine isn't even in the list.
I don't know if it will help as I just downloaded it today but this app https://market.android.com/details?id=com.freeb.automm seems like it should help battery life because you can customize how much memory goes to background applications.

@Scoobysnacks Are you using Cynogenmod or MIUI? I'm on MIUI and found that Android System and Call Standby always seem to be listed in at the top of the battery use processes (much more than Display). Whereas for Sense ROMs, Display is almost always at the top.
try a modified kernel , like tiamat
Oops sorry didnt see you already using it. Make sur you use 1.1.4 and not .5 because that kernel has battery problems you could try stock cm7 kernel as well
Sent from my Blade using xda premium
same here, android system 40%, standby 36%.
im on miui.us 1.11.4 and tiamat 1.1.5
Currently Mobile standby 47% and phone idle 45% for me. Android system not in the list.
CM7.1 and Tiamat 1.1.5, so it can't be the kernel or the ROM. Did you do a full wipe?
Try running logcat on the phone and seeing what messages are in there, something seems to be keeping the phone awake a lot judging by the blue stripes below your graph.

battery life?

just got a droid 3 trying to figure out the best ROM for battery life? anyone got some input?

Yes I think he means Steel Droid 3... Also, just to make sure, you DO have an XT862 right? I've heard the Steel Droid ROM will screw up an XT860. Just being thorough.

Ive never tried SD but both Monster and Liberty worked well for me.

This is very light use (some texts/tweets/angry birds/randomness) but still it shows theres no real standyby leak on Liberty, and ive seen similar performance on Monster.
All goes to show that at this point all the major ones are basically the same. You'll even see decent battery life from the stock ROM (5.6.890 update) once debloated.
Thanks for mentioning that, Savior057. I busted my XT860 by trying to flash Steel Droid. If your phone is an XT860, there are no ROMS available yet (except the Stock Chinese ROM (SBF/XML that can be flashed via Fastboot) - but I wouldn't flash that unless you absolutely had to! There is no stock Bell XT860 SBF/XML flash available yet).

I tried both SD and Liberty. This is the result of my experiment.
I tried SD 3 first. It had a very good battery life. Then I tried Liberty Gold. It was not good so went back to SD 3. Now, a couple of days ago, I flashed Liberty 1.2. the battery life is much better than SD 3. 24 hours after charging, I still have 60% left with moderate usage.
I hope this helps.
P.s: I also tried Monster 12. I was not impressed.

Thank you. I spent a lot of time on it. I am glad others can enjoy it besides me.
I'm really like the look of it. But something I'm curious about...looking over the CM7 themes, it seems like you guys don't like battery indicators that actually say how much percentage is left.
Any chance at all you could throw in a percentage meter?

I actually like the exact percentage. But depending on the cm7 kang you use you have that as an option. As for all the t mobile devices i have used we had that. It is a cherry pick. That is the only reason I did not include it. I will look into it and try to add the 1% fix into the next update.

Oh. What option do I click under CM settings do I choose? And I really do like the battery indicator, I just like to be able to have a quick glance at exactly how much battery life I have rather than guessing based on what level the battery level indicator is at.
Edit...figured it out! Thanks for the heads up!
