is it normally slanted down in the front part? and hard to press? i have a capdase case which really makes it a bit harder to press the power button. is this normal for the HTC IS's build?
I finding it frustrating aswell!
All i got from HTC customer service was that's how it is.
I'm kinda used to it, but it doesn't click enough.
thanks for the reply, so i guess that's they way it is built. good to hear that nothing is wrong with my phone, but bad that it's just that way.
I would of liked more of a feedback from the button....or bigger..ohwell

same goes for me. but other than that i'm finding the phone excellent. hope they get the s-off to work, but not rushing since stock is pretty good.
I have issues waking up the phone with Capdase cover too and also the Headphone doesnt connect properly sometimes due to the Capdase cover again
I have found that if you push down and toward yourself (understand) it is much easier to press, tho a little awkward to begin with

I can't say I have a problem with it, and it's not like I have need to press it very often. If it were easier to press then it might get pressed by accident.
I often go looking for the ON button on the wrong side of the phone. Lack of physical buttons makes it hard to distinguish top and bottom when I pull phone out of pocket. It is only day 3 so plenty of time to get used to things.

I had the phone for about 4 months and still get the top and bottom mixed up when I pull it out my pocket.

I use an app called no lock from the market. It disables the lock screen and you can wake the phone with the volume rocker. Less wear and tear on the volume rocker.

Thanks for bursting my bubble. I have no hope of getting used to it now. LOL

I popped the back off my Nexus 7 and noticed there's an extra button hidden in there. It doesn't do anything noticeable but maybe it can he given a use?

its the google in case of emergency button. pushing it will cause your tablet to turn into a IPAD.. Push at your own risk...
Lol

I looked at it closer and noticed it is a reset button, it doesn't do anything when pressed and I'm not gonna hold it down to find out if anything happens. I don't know if it's supposed to reboot it or factory reset it.

I'm thinking a hard reset lol
This has been mentioned before. Its a useless button.
It was supposed to have been the hardware reset button but the components on the PCB were not added to allow it to function. If you look at the rear cover adjacent to where that button is, you'll see there was going g to be a small hole. I guess Asus had second thoughts that people might get the mic hole and the reset button hole mixed up and figured it wasn't worth the hassle.
If you really want to enable it, look at the N7 schematics (in another thread here) and add the parts to the board.

I have already pressed it, held it down, does nothing while turned on and off, not sure what it is for.
Boot to CWM, Advances, Key Test, then press

Pressing it reduces screen separation.

I've received my black HTC One this morning and I'm happy!
However coming from the one X it feels as if the power button is quite recessed and hard to press. Does anyone else have the same problem? Can anyone post photos of their power buttons from the front so I can see whether it's normal?
Thank you guys. I appreciate your help

Mine was the same, apparently it's normal... i'd call it a shocking design flaw tbh.
I know they didn't really want anything 'sticking out the phone' but as it's the only way to switch the phone on it's a huge over sight if you ask me.

This is not an issue of sensitivity but does any one else think the hit area for the back and home buttons to be really small.
Sometimes I find myself swiping around the area just to make sure I hit them.
As an aside is there a way to keep the capacitive buttons lit while the screen is on. I think this would help me deal with the issue.

I'm with you on that one. Many times I have to tap around that area a few times before I actually get it to register.

Hey everyone. I never owned a phone where you can't pull the battery but I was wondering how do you a reboot or battery pull on the Moto X?

Holding down the power button on a phone like this usually works and if not power button and down volume is typically a true hard reset. It's not quite as powerful as a battery pull as there is still potential for it to not work but you have to really break it for that to be the case.
Hold the power button and down volume buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds does a simulated battery pull.
