ICS for the Velocity released today!

Telstra has finally released ICS for the Velocity today.
Maybe this will help with further ROM developments. Just need to find actual file as it was an OTA update.

And how do you know that? Do you have any source?

Confirmed. My OTA working as we speak... well kinda, stuck on HTC screen on reboot. Had to pull battery and rebooting into GB.
Sense 3.6 says the little update screen
I assume that i will need to relock bootloader?
I sware there was a way to take a screeny with sense? forgotten how to do it.

Can anyone pull the OTA out of the phone and upload anywhere?

Do you have unlocked boot? Did you need to relock?

Whomever is getting these OTA upgrades b4 you update save the zip file to computer, once you install it, it gets auto deleted. Im sure a DEV will be greatful

with Winrar on Windows, you can split one big file into small ones.
BTW, which HBoot version you are using?

Go to the screen you wanna capture, hold down power, hit the home key (bottom left), release both, and ur good.

yup know how... though it only seems to be 210mb.. does this seem small?

Just received the OTA update notification 10 minutes ago.
I'v only had an android for 1 month, and only rooted last week, so essentially i'm a total newb.
could somebody confirm that I won't have to learn how to 'relock' my phone to update ICS OTA?
One last question: Will updating to telstras ICS rom prevent me from unlocking/installing a custom rom later on?

Telstra HTC Velocity Ice Cream Sandwich OTA files

I updated my HTC Velocity on Telstra (Aus) and before I applied the update, I took the .zip file off the phone, and uploaded it to Mediafire(in 15mb parts)
I have no doubt that a Dev will want this.

Not too sure, it is worth a try after I finish upload.
Had to start over as Mediafire was taking too long!
Uploading to my server has done 50% already

I'm on the VJRaider ROM which is based on the Telstra one so I'm not sure I need to go back to stock anyway, but as I'm travelling it will be a couple of days before I can play...

Try renaming the zip to PH139G.zip and place it in the root of your SD Card.
Then restart to HBOOT.

Hmm, renamed the zip to PH39IMG.zip, locked HBOOT and then let it flash it that way.
No success however.
Going to muck around with it, see what happens.

I tried also, and a few other methods, all i got was a bootloop at best! lol, worth a shot.. now im downloading the initial stock ruu for Telstra, then gonna try that way.. il see how i go. Any successes please keep in touch.

Yeah, I had the same end result. Any chance of getting that RUU uploaded somewhere other than filefactory once you've got it? That's the only link I can find, and I'm doing this off my phones hotspot lol.

flash supersu for root, I'll include root in later revisions with tweaking; I really wasn't sure what to expect with this the first time

Loaded the rom and love the feel but I'm getting tons of screens with Chinese so hard to do anything. Am I just missing something?

I'd have to translate it by hand; I'll do it at some point but for right now I'm focusing on 4.4

I just installed the update from the link he provided and it worked just fine. Came from the latest build for the Pure X. All you have to do is download it and sideload it via adb. Google Sideload update if you are not sure how and there are a lot of tutorials up.

Not even exaggerating in the few mins I have played with it, I immediately notice it is speedier plus the new quick toggles for bluetooth and wifi are going to make things much simpler.

I'm currently updating via recovery...I'll run the test for you once I get booted up...It's taking a while to flash the zip.
FYI, If you can't get ADB to work (like myself), you can update your phone with this OTA.zip via stock recovery. Once you get to the android guy laying on its back, hold power and then press volume up to get all the recovery options. From there you can choose "update from sdcard."

Can you post MD5 checksum?
@tjarvis did you receive this ota directly on your phone? Trying not to get stuck in a situation where I have to revert back to a stock image to upgrade to the official update. Release notes indicate this is probably not the official build that will be released to the public since version numbers differ.

i allready check with Quad Rooter Scan and its possitive the mobile had the 4 vulnerabilities.....the only solution is go to cm13 ....for the moment when the patch is out go back to stock. I hope it will be soon, the news is everywhere so Qualcom has to do something.

I got it too, it's official. Couldn't install it because I was rooted, removed stock apps and installed TWRP.

I had a tough time because I couldn't find the 6.0 system files. Are they available anywhere?

I've also been getting nagged about a security update. I'm rooted so I've been ignoring it. If it's important I'd also like to see a version that's flashable while rooted.

Put it on your internal storage and reboot to recovery. Select apply update from sdcard (or something like that). This will only work if you are truly stock with no modifications to the system partition.

Thanks, I was also thinking about that option in recovery if it will work, but never tried so was skeptical.
One more thing, if I update through this route then will my stock phone will turn into 'modified' one or will remain stock? Will there be any problem in case some OTA arrives?
