Hi there,
I'm thinking about getting me a Galaxy s9000 and am wondering if skype video-calls are possible with it, and if, how good is the quality?

Yep, Skype video is available and it's pretty good actually.
Works well.
If you're on wifi, the picture is pretty darned good, on mine it's better than my PC with webcam using GTalk.
3G gets a bit slow and blocky, but hey, what do you expect

They look great with good reviews. Wondering if the bluetooth will work with our phone for listening to music/answering calls?
Use them at work. Best 20 bucks I spent on Ebay. Freaking awesome.
Comfortable? I see in your sig you're using cyanoganmod 6. I'm using the same rom. Does it work properly with it?
Do the controls work to change songs and does it pause the music when calls come in? I would be using these in the library at school primary with my laptop and phone.
Any cons?
Thanks!

Hello Forum,
i read in an article http://www.androidnews.de/skype-videochat-fur-android-verfugbar-aber-nur-im-htc-thunderbolt that the video function has been enabled in skype but only for thunderbolt devices.
there is a link where you can download the apk.

Exactly! if i do want to use video, i use Tango Video Calls (from market)
a mirror is all you need if the application can use the camera on back, just a bit awkward
That'd be just plain stupid. If you want video calls on the go just buy a new phone with a front facing camera.
have you ever thought about using speaker phone and rear camera ? why is this stupid ? I might use video calling once a month, I dont need front camera

Probably one way or the other .

I saw a SamsungIM in the SGS 2 system dump..
Tried to install but can't connect.
Guess this should be a whatsapp like or maybe a facetime like ?
Nervertheless, concerning talk with video, should be ported even for 2.3.2/3
if it is true, we don't need to wait for skype video.
That would be cool, if/when, it is pushed out for the TB.

Well.. You are right but... I would still like Skype video..
I was reading somewhere, some time ago, that with 2.3 we will have video on Skype.. Obviously they are not in hurry because of fu..ing Apple..
So this with G Talk would be really nice for "strat" of video messengers..
Hi everyone. I have installed Tango but when I make video calls the front camera doesn't work, anyone know why? On Tango's website it says that it works for the Galaxy S. Don't know what to do.

Using cm10 and flashed another kernel?
Hi all,
As asked in the subject, is the One better than the OneX, regarding call recording?
I have a OneX at the moment and I remember I had to follow this guide to enable call recording:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663642
While that approach worked, it was hacky and a little sub-optimal.
I read there were devices that had a much more integrated support for call-recording in custom kernels/roms...for some reason the OneX never made it to that point, however.
Does anybody know where the situation stands for the One?
Does recording work out of the box? Should I root/patch?
Thanks!
Yes it is. Sound is good in every aspect of this phone. Probably the strongest part of the phone.

So you say it works out of the box? That's great!
And is it two-way (recording both outgoing and incoming voices during the call)?

No.
As far as I'm aware, and I've searched high and low, two way line recording isn't working on the non-rooted One. Yet.
No no no no!
I meant that it should be possible with rooting and similar ways, should have said that. My bad, sorry.

Ok, so rooting is needed. No big deal.
But with that, do we have two-way call recording support (not talking about the apps, that I know where to find)??
Any source where I can read more about this related to the One?? I tried to look in the forum but I didn't find anything...
Thanks!
No clue boss , I don't record calls, I swear a lot. Not a pleasing playback.
