[Q] Unrooting? - LG Thrill 4G

How if I needed to return the device would I go about unrooting the phone perchance? I mean I have already restored the device once and it did not unroot it so just wondering.

Super one click...but click unroot

Ahh yea right forgot Superoneclick has that option there. Not used to the program would be why, never used it with my G2 or MyTouch 4G (went the hard way on those two)

Will I lose root forever if I go back to stock?

My buttons have stopped working very well, and my hero won't vibrate anymore. I'm rooted but don't want to take my rooted phone to Sprint to get it looked at. So if I go back to stock, will I be able to root again? I've seen some people say yes and some say no. Many thanks in advance.

YES
There's guides on how to root the latest RUU and the latest OTA update in the Development section.

You can always re-root
Okay, I'm confused. Are you saying that I'll lose root forever, or that I'll be able to root the newer ruu if I go back to stock?

Just to be sure you are clear on what will happen. When you go back to stock by running the RUU, you will lose your root. However, you can just re-root after taking it to Sprint.

[GUIDE]How to Root The HTC Wildire "Bee"

EDIT:I have not tested this on 2.2 - I can only confirm that this will work on 2.1
First, install z4 root, located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=446145&d=1290341328
Once installed, click "root" and let the app do its thing. The app will root your phone, but will hang before it is able to restart. Let it sit for a few minutes before pulling the battery. When you turn your phone back on, ensure that superuser is installed to make sure your root was successful.
Please read forums before posting guide thanks

Searching using the keyword "bee", yielded no results about using z4root for the bee. I guess I'm not really sure what you're getting at here...

The Wildfire I rooted was sold by Alltel, and the phone most certainly does not have a sim card slot. What would the phone be, if not CDMA?
If not sure what one you have look on google images since there is a big difference

Is this going to be any different than rooting with Super 1 click? I've already rooted that way, but if this will open up things better, I'll redo mine...

I cant root on ics

I cant post in the dev forum cause im new so i thought id post it here. When i try the motifail root i get the error that it doesnt know what the adb drivers are. I followed the instructions to a T and it said it was completed but when i installed root checker it said i wasnt rooted. ( just asking when rooting are you supposed to turn off the phone or do you leave i on because i just left it on. I installed the drivers but idk what is wrong.) I am trying to root so i can get jb. Thanks for a help. And if im posting thus in the wrong place please tell me so everyone doesnt hate me. Thanks

so you installed motorola device manager to get the correct drivers right? if so just wipe caches on your phone from within recovery (power + vol-up simultaneously with power off) and try motofail2go again. make sure you are doing the bug report button combo correctly. just keep trying
When im doing motofail do i turn off my phone?

Homescreen is where you start the process.
Make sure you have unknown sources checked in settings and usb debugging turned on.
And when the process is successful will something
Happen? Like will the phone reboot or something?

Use the utility in this thread. If you can't get it rooted with this, maybe you should reconsider (no offense intended)

How do I revert back to stock MI3 NO ROOT?

Anyone have the files?
Sent from my SM-N900P using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you have mj4 I don't believe a downgrade is possible
Though you can downgrade from mi5 no problem.
The stock mi3 file is still up at the Samsung update website. I don't remember the link at the moment.

Oh OK thanks bro... I tried to revert once before and it always fails in Odin... Just making sure it wasn't me doing something wrong and that it just wasn't possible

If you're on mj4, you cannot go back to any previous version.

Yup I knew that was previously the case, and was pretty sure there was no workaround.
I hate when they do cap like that to the bootloader.
I'm going to take that as confirmation, as I knew back when mj4 first came out and I was maintain a Knox safe root thread. There were a few issues of people tripping Knox Even on a complete stock uprooted phone attempting to downgrade to run the Vega files.
Just hadn't looked into it since then wasn't sure someone hadn't worked around it.
Though why you would want to go back to mi3 is another question.

Yup, there are a few stock mj4 options (with or without root)
Check the development section.
I personally usually use Odin to flash the full official Samsung mj4 tar.

Just to go Security>Permission control > disable root permission
If you are using any third party root permission managers like SuperSu
Just uninstalling them would work.

Just use the mj5 restore as long as your not on official kitkat. If your on official kitkat then bestbuy is your only option.
