Apparently they released the JH2 again but including a SPL fix, so people already on JH2 will need to flash back to JG8 or something, then flash forward to JH2 again to get the new SPL fix
I got JH2 the other day. Yesterday my phone was going retarded, freezing and losing signal when it never had before. Seemed ok last night and today though I haven't spent much time with it today.
GPS was totally out of whack last night, sitting still and my location was jumping all over the place. Google navigation is unusable. Checked compass in GPS essentials and it was fine but in nav it just spins around and can't get it right.
Youtube widget changed. Now shows most viewed on the main bar but video and search buttons are not functioning properly. Right now it only shows the search button. If I search or launch youtube then go back the video button will be there but neither thet nor the search button will work. Wish I had just left it alone.
did you get the update with the spl fix?
and was your 3 button mode working for you before?
if not does it work with the new update?

Just update dude. Everyone is experiencing various issues regardless of the firmware. I run 3 to 4 times a week using endomondo and the GPS tracks my route almost flawlessly. A few hitches here and there but nothing horrible.
My 3 button combo wasn't working at all and I was already on JH2. Had to do the registry trick to get Kies to flash the new JH2 on my phone and now it works. Upgrading to the new JH2 is the best choice to make, especially if you have plans on using a few mods.
I highly recommend the battery mod available on this forum after you upgrade. The SGS stock battery indicator is horrible and inaccurate, and I rather not waste my homescreen space on a battery widget.
Ya, did the update a few days ago. Three buttons work now and my gps doesnt think im in japan anymore (ya it was that bad) anyway definitely worth the update.

My 3 button mode worked before the update, I haven't tried it since. I haven't rooted and not sure yet if I will, will see how official 2.2 goes first.
Still losing signal though. Yesterday the girlfriend tried to call me and said she either got a busy signal (WTF) or it just went straight to voicemail.
Today I tried to make a call and had to redial two or three times because it kept losing signal. Def a problem with the phone and not anything to do with reception in my area. Only phone calls though, never lose signal when using data or market ect.
Guys, I'm a bit dense on this subject so please be kind.
I have JH2 on my Galaxy. I can't remember if I updated to this version via Kies.
So far, the 3-button recovery problem has not affected me. I haven't rooted Android (since I don't need SU rights), I haven't yet unlocked the phone (no need) and I haven't attempted any Android system updates. I guess I could be called an average user. I haven't tested the 3-button issue.
What circumstances could arise down the road, which would make it necessary for me to do a 3-button recovery? In other words, is this a problem which could affect all Galaxy owners?

I updated to JH2 prior to the SPL fix inclusion and found it to be better than JG9...smoother and less lag issues. Just make sure to backup everything.
My phone is still on jg9. It never had the three button issue it always worked for me. If I upgrade to jh2 how will this affect me?

how do you do this hack, i wanna put my bell rom back on the phone, i flashed to 2.2 froyo and wanna go back to bell rom now.

I havent been able to update to JH2 from JG9 (trying to use kies but thats a prize in itself) but I have in the past gotten where I would try to call, and as the call dropped while still dialing it would tell me the radio is off. Or it would tell me im in airplane mode etc.
Now for the last 24 hrs I have yet to be able to make a call, although datta and texting works perfectly fine, every time I make a call it says my radio is off. And the same problem when someone calls, they are lucky if they get a fast busy signal.
Im talking with bell to get a replacement in store, if not I have a 'insurance' plan that'll give me a loaner etc while they ship it out.
Any update on whether your phone is still dropping into Flight mode?

Can you remember if this started to happen after updating a specific kernel or when you came from CM6.0? Have you tried reverting back to your last known good NAND? Have you attempted to revert back to complete stock?
no i bought this nexus about a week ago and when i first got it the first thing i noticed was that wifi wasnt working
it had lastest cm 6.1
so what i did was i went completely back to stock
wifi still didnt work. EPE something? then FRG33, and then FRG 83
so i just went back to cm 6.1 with wildmonk kernal.
the weird thing is that wifi sometimes works..like rarely. but as soon as i lose signal.. and i let it sit for few hours then i wont get connected
im most likely to get error or force close..
i cant even see my networks on the thingy..
i tried like 10 different apps tried like 4 diff kernals 3 roms ..still no luck..

you shouldn't worry about ip version
90% are v4 anyways

What is the signal strength on your network showing?
i can not see anynetworks
i cant detect my neighbors either.
when i click enable wifi it says scanning then just turns it off by itself
or when i try to go into setting while enabling it freezes for few sec then gives me force close
tried fix permission
when i ran logcat
it said something about

Sounds more like a hardware issue, rather than a software issue. Did you contact the person who sold you the phone, it could be that's why they pass it off to you. You said you flashed other roms and had the same problem, every rom has different kernal versions, so it couldn't be a kernal issue, I would return it to the seller or contact HTC about a replacement, they will still respect the warranty on the phone.
i bought it off craigs...i could contact him but idk if he will like.. change it back..
cause i traded my g2 for nexus one plus extra+cash ..
since i dont use keyboard, it had one dead pixel, and loose hinge..
could it really be a hardware issue?
when you open the back cover do you guys have little stickers on every screw drives that say "VOID"
cause when i open the back cover there is one sticker on top left corner
but dont have void stickers on right top corner and middle left.
im guessing he opened the device? so no replacement from HTC?
cause i did some research and it looks like lot of nexus one users had this problem
and other android users.
is there a no fix for this?

theres only one screw with the void sticker. when you reflashed to stock, what did you use? try the PASSIMG method. make sure you wiped before changing. other than that, it is probably a hardware fault. try wiping just in case if it does work. if not, call htc up
did everything even went back to 2.1 with that method. and went to 2.2 2.2.1

Great news for those Bell customers who have the following Android devices: Samsung Galaxy Tab, Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Incredible S, HTC Desire Z and the Motorola ATRIX… you all will be getting an upgrade to OS 2.3 Gingerbread this Summer. However, it seems that the Tab will be receive 2.3 today and the Galaxy S Vibrant will receive 2.3 sometime “Early Summer”, while the Incredible S will be graced with it “Mid Summer” and finally the others are pegged for “Late Summer”. Nice work.

Good to know... i wonder if i should restock to froyo then and run kies on my tab to see if i get the update....
I have stock JJ7 and I still get the message that this version of the device cannot be updated when I connect to Kies ver 2.0.1.11053_99 so I would be too quick to restock.
But I see if I follow the Bell link there is a version _99_3 so I'll try installing that. I always worry when I update Kies that it will stop seeing my devices....

Ahh, thats good to know...
If i hadn't done my upgrading since January, i'd be inclined to try.
There was a thread thats been around since January asking for the stock JJ7 version of the tab... I got it, but haven't tried to use it... If you ever do restock (clean out your tab to original factory settings), any chance you would be able to do a rotobackup?
If not i understand... its a lot to ask.
I remember you from the galaxys forums, our GalaxyS phones died nearly the same time. .. lol..

My galaxy S did come back and I'm running stock Froyo on it How do you do a Rotohammer backup? I really like my tab the way it is set up now but saying that is probably the kiss of death or something

issues with video playback after official rom upgrade
I upgraded my bell galaxy tab to the officiHi,al gingerbread rom last week and now I have an issue.
The built in app used to play most of my videos in the player but now after the upgrade no videos seem to play in the app. I have tried third party apps but they seem to choke on videos that played fine before. Does any one have any suggestions or has any one else experienced this after an upgrade to gingerbread? It definitely sucks!

You did? Haven't heard of the official updates yet (plus being on custom i haven't tried yet).
Any chance you could tell us the version of the GB rom from Bell?

So as soon as I heard the news that there was a date set for the galaxy tab upgrade with Bell I just kept connecting to Kies.
The info for the rom is:
Firmware version: 2.3.3
baseband version P1000MUGKF6
Kernal version 2.6.35.7
build number GingerbreadUGKF6
Please let me know if you would like to know anything further. As a note I did have issues after the upgrade. First it appear my security software was causing issues and the unit would turn the screen off and not come back. Removing avg and lookout fixed this. Then I had issues with some apps like music but deleting data under manage applications corrected that. Same thing with email app so I had to delete data and re setup. Only real issue now is lost codecs it seems in video player it seems.
Finally there are some new apps like pulse news and sketch memo.

Judging by your posted build number you are still Froyo (2.2.x). Gingerbread is 2.3.x. Unless this was a typo on your part.

I'm guessing its a typo as the build number indicates gingerbread .

Hi sorry about the typo on the build. In regards to 3g I recently started having service issues but after this upgrade the issues are less frequent. It could be a coincidence as they told me there was a network issue but even right after the upgrade it was better. No phone app unfortunately. I have not tried copying the videos back but before I was able to play these videos without conversion. I am going to try any ways. Thanks for suggestion. I am hoping to hear if anyone else has the same issue.
im having problems with my 3g on my phone its a samsung galaxy s 2 gt i9100 and version 2.3.3
it keeps turning on and of randomly for no reason some times it just goes of and other times it actually deactivates itself. ive removed juice defender which i thought was the cause but its still switching on and of randomly somtimes it will last for a hour or so other times it wil go on and of every 5 mins.
sometimes i can simply switch the data mode on and of and that works but most times i have to reboot the phone and everytime i reboot it the internet is back on.
what could be causing this its driving me made as i use my phone as a router most of the time. i know its not the network im on because it happens in every country i go to on a new sim.
is there a simple solution is it a android fault or samsung fault?
anyone have a solution to this as i really like my samsung phone but this problem is really annoying.

I don't own a 9100 but a 9001 (SGS Plus). The 2.3.3 firmware for my device gave me the exact same issue. I solved it by updating to 2.3.6. But you would need to ask someone who is more familiar with the S2 which ROM ist best as I don't know those.

thanks for the reply now how easy is it to update the phone it says there is no update avalibile when i try to check for updates.
How easy is it to do this rom thing and flashing id need a step by step guide id rather just be able to update it with the click of one button.
i assume you havn't rooted/flashed before? if not, either get into a decent wifi area and update your phone through the settings (that worked for my friends galaxy ace) or see if theres an update through samsungs own software "Kies"
personally i think the 3g issue seems to fall on samsungs side of things but i could be wrong,
no i havent rooted or flashed before. When i try to update in the phone info check for updates it says there is none im currently in the uae is the update done by the network or by samsung. Ive never used kies either. Ill have a look at it i thought kies was just another form of wifi.
I received my Android 10 update and have a strong password to get into the phone. After the phone rebooted the keyboard will not come up. I made sure the Samsung keyboard is on and do have the same third party keyboard as before the update. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I was able to use a bluetooth keyboard... but looks like i have to use the stock keyboard for now.
I use nothing but SwiftKey and it worked fine after the update. I vaguely remember seeing someone mention the same problem I the beta community though.
Oh great, bugs? Figures. I got the notification for the update earlier today from AT&T. Good thing I wasn't on wifi or else I would be on this boat too.
