as title says, how exactly do I tell if my phone is sleeping or not when my screen goes off? I looked thru settings, apps, manage apps, and looked at each app permissions. some say "prevent phone from sleeping."
hope its not a dumb question.
download spare parts from the market and check battery history and select "partial wake usage"
hope this helps
I've been getting a notification very frequently that says "searching location" and then a little while later says "location found." Is this normal? I have location set to high accuracy. I guess it isn't that big a deal, I just find it a bit annoying.
I think this has something to do with the moto app. Haven't figured out which part yet. But I got the same thing happening. Think it's normal

Does anyone know how to disable this notification?

It is probably the command center thingy widget triggering it.

I get it as well without that widget and using the Google Now Launcher.

Yep, the native launcher is completely blank. No widgets or apps on that launcher.

Any idea what the app name is in the app list? I'll disable it and report back.

Yeah, I know what he's talking about.. But there's no entry for "command center" in the apps list (Settings -> Apps -> All) where you can disable it completely. Hence why I'm asking him if he knows the entry's name, so I can disable it.

Actually my bad - there was an entry for "Command Center" and it was already disabled. So to answer your question, disabling the command center does not fix this "Location Found" issue.
If this issue hasn't been resolved yet - Next time you see the notification, long press it in the notification drawer before it disappears and hit app info and it will show you what app it is. I'm not sure if you can disable it though
What the heck does this error mean and how do I fix it. I get it when I try to update my credit card info for Android Pay, and also when I try to authorize accessibility for several of my apps (like my password library, Tasker and the like).
Please help, because I am not being allowed to use some very useful features because my own phone won't let me
Do you have Lux installed? Anything that draws over your screen screws with that kind of thing (I had the same error yesterday).
I don't know the exact answer, but perhaps this will help narrow it down:
Settings/Apps/cog top right > Configure apps/Draw over other apps - this lists the ones that have the permission to draw over the app you're using.

It's not an error. It's a feature to prevent tapjacking.
What is tapjacking protection and how do I turn it off/adjust the settings so that I can use the features.
I mean really? An anti-hack that keeps the user from controlling his own phone? That's sounding like iOS, not our beloved Android.....

Ahhhh, that may be it. I'll disable or turn it off and see what happens. If that's it, I'll be a very happy camper because I've been wrestling with this for months with my other apps. Temperature is up because Android Pay is now added to my list.....

you cant "turn it off". what you can do is not use the apps that draw over other apps, but thats really up to you and whatever compromise that decide on.

I mis-stated my point. One of the guys said it might be Lux, and another showed me how to find the list of apps that are "drawing over". I'm going to disable the apps that are doing the deed, not the functionality that is integrated in the OS.
Thanks everyone. I'll get back if I'm still stumped, but it sounds like you've helped me......

Example: You're trying to enter credit card info into Android Pay while you have a screen dimmer app running. The dimmer app dims the screen by drawing an overlay. When you're entering the info, you're actually interacting with the overlay. A malicious app could record the touches and capture the info.
Hi,
I've just purchased my first Mi phone and am quite new to MiUi. I am trying to use 3rd party apps for SMS (Truecaller) and Dialer (Drupe), but in the case of SMS, i dont get any notification whatsoever and in the case of the Dialer, the phone rings but I don't see the call screen until I open it manually from the notification.
Is there some specific setting I need to enable? Or is it simply not possible in MiUi?
I have already tried giving the app permissions to the apps manually, but it doesn't solve the problem.
Thanks in advance.
Welcome to MIUI xD
U MUST check and change permissions on each app you install for correct work. Set permisions, set app to run in backgroud, change "battery saver", add to autostart, and so on and on.
Thats why i installed LineageOs insted of miui.

I have tried changing all the permissions but there seems to be no improvement. Is there something I could be missing specifically or some way of deleting these features from MiUi? I dont see a stable enough ROM that I would like to switch to right now.
All my apps were "Do not optimise". I changed all of them to "Optimise" just now. This settings can't be find anywhere, I used an app called "andropods" to get into these settings
optimized apps won't get background updates

Go to settings then search optimize. Shows up instantly. But you need to know how to spell optimize.

Optimise is spelt with an S in UK English and a Z in US English. My phone has it with an S, so he has spelt it correctly.
