I just noticed that the browser homepage setting does not work anymore. It keeps starting with google.com even if another homepage is set.
Deleted the defafult homepage in setting and input a new homepage but still loaded google.com.
Does this have to do with the GPS/Location? Is there a way to fix this?
Not sure if this relates to a file related to "Location" installed recently for using with the Google Map/GPS. Does anyone know if this relates to the google.com default home page on the browser? It'll get ignored if if another site is set as starting home page.
Does anyone know, is it possible to delete a system file to master reset. It was working before.
Also noticed that everytime when going back to the browser, it will open a new window re-loading to google.com, so if I go back to the browser 5 times, there will be 5 browser windows opened to google.com

Opera Mobile 8.6 is my default browser, but when I click on a URL in an email the link is opening in Pocket Internet Explorer.
I did fix this once before, many months ago, but the change seems to have reverted itself.
I think it was a registry change. Can anyone remind me how to do it?
Thanks.
use gsfinder, set html and htm file associations to open with opera or try letting opera be default browser however if you stream video it wont work since opera might be set to default browser
Strange. I made the change using Advanced Config and it didn't work for me. The HTM and HTML file extension weren't set to IE previously and email links were opening up with IE. Now, I've set the associations to Opera and the links are opening up with IE.
Does anybody know where the associations for opening up a browser out of an email is actually set or possibly what I'm doing wrong?
Aready solved

Hello, since a couple of days i've been experiencing problems using iGoogle on my opera browser... The problems started after upgrading my phone from 1.37 rom to 1.93, but they're probably unrelated to the rom.
I can access the google page, but after entering my email and password to login to iGoogle or gmail something strange happens: I am directed to a completely blank page, with 1 word in the top-left of the page "Google". Nothing else. Also, a small icon of a lock appears in the address bar. The address bar displays an url starting with https://.
One time i got an error message saying i had cookies disabled, but when I checked in the Opera settings it was enabled, and i never changed this... so this appears to be a problem with Opera not allowing cookies, since google wants to place a cookie when you log in.
Does someone recognize my problem and know how to solve it?
Some other people have the same problem, see here.
I have the same problem. It started a couple of days ago, and I didn't change any settings. This was before I updated to the 1.93 rom, so I should think it's a problem on googles side, and not with the phone.
I'm still able to access gmail with Internet Explorer (but the light version for mobile phones).
i sorted mine out .solution here

It's a different problem to the one you had coopigeon, and the solution that worked for you doesn't help here.
I think omnivore and jaeger are on the right track that it's an Opera issue in how it's interacting with the gmail servers, perhaps relating to 1.93, or some new settings google are now using??!
It used to work or me, and now it's not working for me (after I upgraded to 1.93) so I'm stuck to using IE for e-mail checking
Yes it's different, because I use a mail account set on IMAP for gmail and that works perfectly... I don't even want to use the browser gmail, cause the WinMobile account stuff is good enough for me.
The problem is indeed related to the way the Opera browser interacts with the google page. I have now tried something:
I typed the entire url in my desktop browser... and voila, there i was on iGoogle. I guess my new diamond is not as shiny as my old desktop pc ;-)
The long url i get when i try to log in on starts with https, which means it's a secure connection, and apparantly Opera can't handle it. Either placing cookies is disabled in the software (although the settings say different), or the browser somehow can't redirect from the https secure page, to the normal http page.
Are there programmers here who can look into this? You'd be a great help, cause I'm addicted to my iGoogle with 10 different news-sites! RSS feeds don't even come close...
So I edited "27c65cbd_manila" file so I could use Skyfire as my default browser from the internet tab(globe). Now whenever I launch Skyfire from the "launch browser" tab, the homepage would not load.
(It says something like "can't find URL /home" or something along those lines.) However, if I launch it from the "programs" tab, everything works as it should.
I'm thinking I should edit something else, too because the file was created to support Opera, but I have no idea what. Can someone advise me on what to edit?
Anyone? No one has set Skyfire to launch from the globe?
Hey guys, I have a couple of problems with chrome on One that you might be able to help with.
Before I go into that, does anyone know how to transfer my bookmarks from chrome (google) to the stock Android browser?
Chrome problems. Firstly, sometimes when browsing forums, some of the posts come in normal text and some in tiny! That is very frustrating, could it be a bug? Secondly, when I touch the address bar, sometimes it selects all of it (which allows me to go directly into searching something on Google and is awesome) but other times it doesn't, which is annoying. Can this be remedied?

Through the HTC sync app there should be a setting to transfer your bookmarks from the desktop but I think the only way to transfer bookmarks on the device is copy/paste them from chromes internal folder over to the stock browsers internal folder. It's worked for me on past devices so hopefully they didn't change it and a quick search should give you the directories for both.
The forum text size is usually due to settings on that forum, it'll happen in almost any lightweight browser.
The address bar highlight always works for me unless I touch where there isn't text or move my finger during a long press, maybe reinstall chrome to make sure it's the latest version without any bugs?
Thank you for the comprehensive and helpful reply! Do you know a way to automatically sync my bookmarks on the computer (chrome) to the One stock browser? You know, for those 'I'll bookmark to read it later' moments
If you go into Chrome settings on the phone, then click your Google account and just turn everything on.

Oh, sorry. Umm... I never tried! If you're signed into Google with Chrome (desktop) is it not in the list of bookmarks somewhere?
Howdy,
I have the Galaxy Tab Pro SM-T250.
I have downloaded a webpage to view off line (.htm)
When I click on the .htm file HanCom Office tried to open the file & failed. I turned off that program & cleared it's cache. The Launch by Default section had a grayed out Clear Default button for that program (as many of the online guides suggested I click the Clear Default button)
Under Default Applications for the entire device there is nothing under Clear Defaults
When I try to open the .htm file after stopping the HanCom Office application, I receive a pop up window which reads "Unable to find application to perform this action."
I do not have a box pop up asking for an application to open the file. If I did, I would have Firefox do it.
Thank you very much!
Actually most mobile browser are not set to open local HTML files (since it's an unusual behaviour on a mobile device). To solve your problem you should use a specific application from Google Play, like Offline browser.
Also, if you're using Android 4+, you can save web pages for offline navigation directly form the default browser, although you can open them just in the browser itself.
