I won one of these HTC Incredible S phones recently but it is sim locked and there doesn't appear to be a carrier associated to the phone. On phone boot up I get the HTC screen, then a black screen for a split second and it loads to the Sim locked screen. All the sites I have come across want a provider (which I don't know), so how can I unlock this phone? I have read about S-off, rooting etc which seems a lot more confusing than my Fascinate 4g was. Can someone help clear up the confusion and help point me in the right direction. Thank you!
I think HTCcode.com can do an instant unlock with only the imei
Thanks, I checked out the site but after purchase I'd have to provide the following "the IMEI No,Model,Network and Country" (I haven't bought yet because the network is unknown.
http://htccode.com/buy-unlock
I called HTC they said the phone is European based of the IMEI # but they can't say which provider, yet the phone came with the North American plug.

How can i check if my t-mobile wing (says htc on back) is SIM LOCKED? also if anyone knows any good programs to deal with this, please give advice. Appreciate all the help, and xda forum rocks.
Very Simple
Try using a sim card from a diffrent cell phone provider other then t-mobile and it works then well i guess its sim-unlocked
what ^ he said is a good way to tell. Also most phones bought from the provider are locked, you can go have them unlock it and usually they will do it. (most will wait till your past your contract though).
I just destroyed my HTC EVO LTE.. I was thinking of replacing it with an HTC One, but I have a couple of questions. Most threads I have read on these subjects are on a less basic level, and I need to get a grasp on the basics.
I have been seeing a lot of discussion about SIM unlocking and I am a little confused if I even need to do that. If I get a Sprint HTC One and reflash it to PP, I only need the boot loader unlocked right? If I unlock the SIM thats just for international calls on GSM networks, correct? My EVO LTE was pretty easy and I hear that the One is similar. As far as unlocking the boot loader, does HTC still send you the code through their developer portal? Is it difficult to root and get custom ROMs onto? It would be nice to get the SIM unlocked in case I travel out of country but its not high on my list. Since I am not a Sprint customer I doubt they would give me the code if I begged them.
Thank you for any help you can provide me.

if u wanna flash it to pageplus, u can do that without unlock bootloader or anything. just change PRL and DATA configuration "data profile, HA,AAA"..... also its very easy to s-off and unlock the bootloader, to install custom roms....... i had HTC ONE, i flashed it to verizon and unlocked it to T-mobile too at the same time.....
see this is my post after i unlocked it to t-mobile

After many conversations with HTC and Sprint it appears Sprint has locked out the ability for use of domestic data cards from competing carriers on their sim capable devices such as the HTC One. It is the consensus opinion this should be an unlock-able option to ensure fair competition of market provided the user is not under contract and is in good standing with Sprint/Carrier. This is currently in Legislation and backed by President Obama. There are also over 115,000 petitioners so far.
I am not under contract, in good standing(paid) yet Sprint says they "can't" enable the use of a competitors Domestic Sim, They did not use the term unlock yet a lock symbol appears in the APN settings next to the Carriers APN(Verizon, T-Mobile)when the Sim card is in. Sprint pretended to be helpful. One support agent even gave me the msid and false ##12345# code saying to use the msid then to unlock, how nice. Another Rep discovered My phone has no Unlock MSL as it is not carrier locked. I purchased it, own it, never activated it on the Sprint Network therefore no MSL needed to unlock. I have an unlocked device. Locked "to" Sprint but not "by" Sprint. I have the right to provision data from any carrier of my choosing but how?
Not going to accept that it "can't" be done. It must be possible to trick or bypass the lock. Example: I took my Nexus 7 LTE to Verizon for a data card. Initially the rep told me it would not be possible. I now have LTE Verizon data.
My question here is can we trick the phone into accepting a Domestic Sim? It must be possible after reading so many threads and seeing the genius Dev going on here. It must be possible to use the device at least for Internet Data at least 3G. LTE should even be possible.
1. Force Roaming with Roam Control?
2. International Rom then the phone would view our Domestic(US) card as International?
3. Flash a Verizon HTC One Rom to the Sprint HTC One to trick the phone into thinking it is Verizon enabling the Verizon Sim to work?(using the sim from my unlocked tablet)
Anyone try this with Success?
This may be possible by provisioning through the sim by the new carrier (If they will do it) like with my Nexus 7 tablet. But I am curious to know if the above/or other options might work.

Why is that a bad link
I have looked at the link. It is the terminal emulator means to gain entry that Viperboy has made his tool from. It did not work for me. That is why i started the thread. I am pursuing other means as stated in the Original Post
Didnt take me to any thread, using the chrome browser. I guess it works for you guys.
Anyways here's another thread, I haven't tried it though.

Weird it works now.
Hello I'm living in London UK and I'm trying to unlock HTC ONE M7 black from O2. First thing is than I went to small shops where phones are being unlocked, but everyone tells me that they can't unlock with the code because network operators reject my phones IMEI. So I am wondering if I should buy online unlocking code, and if those websites can get it. Or is there any other way
Hi All,
My AT&T HTC desire 626 got locked to ATT carrier permanently as my brother put wrong code mutiple time with a non AT&T sim. Now even actual unlock code is not working.
I assume this phone is now permanently locked to AT&A. Any solution to this would be great. This is brand new phone out of box in a outside country. I sent it to my brother in Asia to use it but he messed up by putting some unknown code and did not ask me correct unlock code. Any suggestion would be great otherwise this phone now will be dead brick with my brother.
TIA
