I thought Bloo sucked.
The new free version of bloo that the dev released is actually pretty good. Its being updated a bit more regularly than the old one as well.

I AGREE
moto droid!
So you guys giving answers I assume you've tested all three droid/cliq/bloo?
It'd be nice if someone can do a comparison. I personally have Babbler and the Droid Facebook app. I like the native facebook app but I use Babbler for the lacking features in the native app. Mainly being able to upload a video and being able choose what album a photo gets uploaded to (I suspect that with the native app photos will always be uploaded to the "Mobile Uploads" album and they're not going to change that).
I've never seen the Cliq Facebook app (and didn't realize it was different, I guess it's tied down to the whole MotoBlur thing?)
So yeah, if some has had a chance to test a few of those and could do a comparison that would be awesome.
Hi,
i played this weekend with a couple android devices and i liked the contact app on the samsung galaxy tab. is it possilbe to get it on the desire, or is it special made from/for samsung?
cant find it in the market...
What's so special about it?I've never seen it

i think it's the same as in the SGS...the contact application is very nice..it allows you to swipe right or left in order to make a call or send a sms.. i think if there is a way to import this in to DHD it would be very nice
and i also like the style and layout, but will probably look very tiny on the small display of the dhd.
but i like it. better than the htc one....
Its basically like the iPad's contact app, in landscape mode it shows the contact list down the left side and when a contact is selected it fills the right hand side of the screen with the contacts details. Is that what your after?
yep,
i also like contapps, like the portrait view with the name under it, but unforunately it sorts the contacts only by first name and i would like to have it with last name...
Im not a massive fan of contapps, however i can see the appeal. i would definatly like the Tab's contact app though, and i think with the DHD's 4.3 inch screen, it would work pretty well.
right now contapps is buggy, but i like the idea, the design is a diffrent story, but maybe they enable themes...i like the facebook integration in cotapps more than with the standard dhd people app and facebook for thc sense, because, this f**** always messes up my contact pictures...
i just would like to have the "updates" from facebook not the pictures and anything...
but i think the conact app from the galaxy tab is only for samsung...its not a open app for everybody....
Off, u can always override pic of contacts in edit mode, htc sense.
-- sent from htc z using xda app
yes i can overide it until the next sync, than i have all this nice facebook pictures back from facebook for htc sense or twitter for htc sense...*bullsh..*
i am looking for a goot contacts app who still does integrate stuff like facebook and twitter but let me choose what to do. like in contapps, i can choose which picture gets overwritten by the facebook one...twitter is not yet integrated, but i like the foursquare integration too...
i even looked at sony eriscson xperia 10 today, the integration of the networks look better there, but i could test if it does the same overwritting like htc facebook.
Had a unpacked (preproduction) Galaxy Tab rom laying around from my Galaxy S days (Way.. back) Here's the contact app from it, I assume it doesn't run on the DHD, but who knows, maybe someone can make it work
I don't know how to get it running on the DHD. If you have questions, please contact the Samsung or HTC Helpdesk

Hi team,
Nice app you have there. I like the way you advertise it on your website.
"Dude, I’m so
bored with my mobile
contacts…"
"Try contapps,
it’s free!"
Lol... keep up the great work.
EDIT: in dutch your app and company name sounds a bit funny. In dutch "kont" means "ass" .The pronunciation of "cont" is the same as "kont" in dutch, so in Dutch it sounds like ass apps
I suggest a fusion with a company named "kick" for the dutch app market

You're right. I was a bit to quick. Probably because I assumed beforehand that it cannot be installed.
anyone tried to push it via adb? might try it when i get home
any1 had any luck?
Just trying contapps, very nice i have a few suggestions which i think would work nicely
Using contapps too, but I don't like that I cant sort the contacts by last name and it shows me a lot of the items twice, like home and work address, birthday and so on, I think it's because, I have all my contacts in phone and synced with google too. also would like to link the contacts with other social sites and an overview of it in the info section

looks nice, but why aren't you using http://developer.android.com/reference/android/accounts/AccountManager.html ?
Asking for login/pass with internet permissions will be suspicious to many users, especially when it's unnecessary for what you're doing.

Looks nice, though as ZanshinG1 pointed out, Account Manager would be a much better way of using the Google account.

Better than Newsr? How does it compare?
I quite like the look of this, but I'm really loathe to buy a Reader app when it's only a matter of time until Google themselves release one that's optimized for tablets. I haven't bought Newsr for the same reason.
If you release an ad supported version then I'd jump all over it.
We just released version 1.1 with integrated credentials support - enjoy!
Again, thanks for the input

Maybe we will release an ad version. But we would rather not bloat the interface with ads. I dont think google will release a good reader app for tablets, the browser one is no good and the one for phones isnt really great either in my opinion. Thats why we thought of doing one that looks the way we want for our selves..

As it works now, the news wont get marked as read. When you sync it purges the news and downloads new news. So you can decide, tell us how you want it and we will make it work like that.
Newsr is a small investment and very good. Actively developed. Even if Google releases its own Reader app that you prefer, you will have gotten your money's worth. What I really want is a scrollable Reader widget which allows me to select which feed or label I want in the widget.
I like the look of this Honey Reader. When it sorts out the login Account Manager issue, I'll give it a whirl. Price is fair, too. I think people forget they can still do 15 minute try and return for no cost if they want. It's important that we support a development community for Droid if we want it to become as robust as Apple's.
Edit: just realized the account manager issue is resolved. Off to try this now.

Hi all
I'm arriving from Android & Blackberry phones.
Both have a Twitter client with minimum push notifications showned on top and other feature like nick suggestion, picture preview on TL etc etc
I can't find something similar on the Windows Marketplace... even if I have to pay for it but I want a full featured twitter client
I have tried the official client, birdsong, Mehdoh but nothing is a REAL 2012 twitter client
Any advice ? I ready to pay the app... but if a free one exist
Thing is Notification System is not there in Windows Phone. Its all done via live tile but it has its own limitation.
SO if you been trying to find something for notification it is not there but Live tiles Most of what you saw do support it.

Windows Phone allow app to run in background
Mehdoh is able to send notification even if locked but Mehdoh is not push so the delay is not so good for DM and mention
Maybe an app with tiles update will be great but can't find a great one...
I can't image that WindowsPhone community do not have a good Twitter client ?!?
Pretty sure there are other threads about Twitter apps...
Anyway, rowi is one of the best apps, and will get even better once 2.0 hits the Marketplace.
Carbon is also coming very soon and looks to be a great app once it hits the Marketplace.
The Marketplace is still quite young, and while there are some nice Twitter apps, I don't think there is anything just quite yet that goes above and beyond like some apps do on other platforms. There is also not a huge need for a really robust Twitter app since the phone already has a lot of Twitter functionality built in.
Thanks I will check
Can't this be what you need?

Agreed. Running Rowi RC & its fabulous but you'll have to wait a little while until testing is complete & then it will be released to the Marketplace. It's worth the wait.

After testing many Twitter client I have just spend little money to buy Rowi
http://hiddenpineapple.com/rowi
2 versions :
Free with AD and no push & no notifications
2,99$ with no AD, push notification
Available on the Marketplace
Everything that exist on other mobile phone, auto-completion on mention & hahtag, list managment and filters etc etc
One thing that is "new" than others is the line just under the last tweet you have read, so you know which tweets are new
Mehdoh (currently in market) is quite good.
Rowi is good, I'm hearing upcoming release is excellent.
Carbon is currently in development, hearing good things about this app as well.

Any widget created through Meta can be customized and automatically updated, or updated on user interaction.

★ Create widgets from almost any website element
★ Parse graphs and images
★ Extract statistics and information from authorized sites
★ Configure widgets (background, alignment, etc.)
★ Automatic updates

Status
The app is currently quite stable, but we still prefer to call it a beta. So please, do write to us with suggestions or bug reports!
Play Store

Yep, the webkit renderer is pretty awful. We are working on it, there are a bunch of optimizations out there and they will be included.
In the meantime, please rate the app and comment - at this early stage good ratings have a massive impact on an apps success. And success means more features, faster
Thanks in advance.

Minor UI changes to increase compatibility
Any issues with the update?

Would strongly recommend adding an activity with a tutorial for people unfamiliar with how widgets work.
A lot of your users will download and see nothing clickable in the app tray, then uninstall. (Had this problem with one of my apps)
Hmmm... I'm not sure those are our target audience.

As long as you're comfortable with the issue reports and low ratings from that audience downloading it, sure, you can ignore it.
I'd say it's wrong to assume that falsely correlating app drawer and downloaded apps makes a user you don't want.
First impressions arguably count the most for an app.
Now that the lifehacker review is old news, those will stop. Anyway, with the widget constructor coming there will be a different way of adding things entirely.

Regarding low ratings. We make like 15 apps. And i can tell you that the low ratings coming from complete morons just cant be avoided. Check this one out from this morning:
1*
Has potential. This app is very powerful, I'm sure, in the right hands. Unfortunately, many people won't understand how to use this widget. It took me a few hours of just messing around to get what I wanted. The content selection is horrible (arrows, really?), and the automatic) list prediction is also horrible for the sites I tested.

Arrows really? A couple of hours? List prediction? If i was emperor of the universe i would have the guy shot. And then shot again.
Then theres this guy:
Why have a free version? Free version is useless. No auto updates. I guess devs think this will make people buy the full version. All this does is frustrate me. Make it time limited instead of crippled. I can live without it.
