Imho all the v20e roms. for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254359
I have to say lg did a good job with that firmware (its a leaked gb rom from lg). Everything is stable (at least here) and all functions do work. The battery performance way better than in any other rom, even cm7.
..just my 2 cents

I agree to this. And the biggest benefit is that you have better call quality compared to cm7.

Agreed. I use v20e Nandroid provided by Le_rat_Penat in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264721
Everything runs superb and better than all other GB ROMs according to me. Only problem is confusion about which BB+RIL combination works best. I use 622 BB+GBleaked RIL combination and it works satisfactorily. The voice quality is not very sharp as it is with this device since inception but otherwise everything works ok.
Best ROM is subjective since one user will want different than the other.... flash em and find out..
Not ROM development.. hence thread closed.

can optimus 2x use the gx2 rom? Thinking to get one. Any advise?

Different partition layout, different baseband.
ROMs are not compatible.
Thanks a lot. But I don't really find any amazing custom rom for o2x. Maybe too early. Keep finger crossed.

what do you mean with amazing, iam using slicks n.31 rom and this rom is very very fast and stable enough for me, so its a great and amazing rom in my opinion
So is both G2X and O2X having issue with reboot and such?!
Yep, check the G2X sub-forum.

I am getting an offer to exchange my 1 year old x10 with LG optimus 2x.Is it a good deal.Does LG deliever good service and support. What are the pros and cons. How is the audio quality..
Pros:
+ Its fast
+ 3D Performance is very good
+ Kamera is ok
+ Custom Rom support is quite good
Cons:
- Stock Rom is not really good (too slow, high battery drain, old version!)
- LG Software Updater does not work with my LG P990
- Some devices have serious issues like hanging system, unwanted reboots
All in all it is a good device, but there are far too many "monday-devices"....
Which means that they have problems that can't be solved by the user.
The downside is if you do not want to customize / root your phone it is nothing special, since the stock rom is Android 2.2 and there is no software update (which has been promised for late July).
So software support is sadly really bad. On Hardware side I have no experiences, but I heared that getting a replacement device is no problem if there is a hardware issue that can't be repaired.
Nontheless I really like my P990, it has great performance if you install a custom rom. The voice quality really depends on your baseband and kernel versions.
With my setup it is ok. (MIUI Roadrunner, latest Kernel and BB)
I hope this helps...
EDIT:
Relating to the updater problem, this could be interesting for you:

im using CM7 #115 and it's a huge improvement over stock form.
Hi everyone!
Just got the optimus 2x from my brother. Its still in stock rom. May i know from you what's the fastest and most stable custom rom for the phone so that i could give it a try?
Im using miui 2.3.16 + etana kernel with lite battery mod. No issues found.

I vote for this.
but if you don't use any video recording, CM9-Kang by owain already can be used for daily.
it's fast & stable enough if using default config.
I'm pretty happy with what I have in my sig.
However, I would test drive the phone for a couple of weeks if I were you. There have been users reporting very bad battery life that returned the phone and got a much better one.
So personally I would test-drive every functionality of the phone: 3G, wi-fi, bluetooth, GPS, etc and make sure everything is working fine before going for "warranty voiding activities"

Thats also what i'm using right now, also with ironkrnL (80 uv-log-su-rld), Chainfire3D and my own sd-fix. But in cause of the missing hw acc, i posted the cm7 variant
+1 for cm7 kang by temasek (with stock kernel).
I dont see anyone talking about one of the best ROMs with all custom like features with excellent smoothness and best performance....Django ROM with Stefan's or Spica's Kernel....it virtually flies...
try it man....you will know

watch the flag system!
You have to change the filename before flashing, i recommend to NOT use "jrnl"!
And never flash it with touch-cwm, it would kill your system/data partitions.

To me hei1125 does an awesome work with ICS (CM9). His rom is called Nova HD Plus.

i never used etana kernel yet, so i can't tell.
i just know that "setiron" (the dev of ironkrnL) defo knows what he does.
I use MIUI, perfect look and very fast ROM, but you loose your FM-radio.
Good support- every Weekend a new update.
1st choice!

I guess question was about fastest and most stable ROM, not about "stable and fast enough". ICS on P990 is highly unstable for now. I'm using ICS for daily use and i don't complain, but there's always something that isn't working as it suppouse to. So at this moment CM7 isn't only more stable then ICS, it's faster too. Android 4.0 doeasn't even have hw acceleration yet.

Agreed, at this moment CM7 is much more stable and also faster, i tried CM9 but some apps didn't work and sometimes the phone was getting slow all of the sudden not to mention the browser was always crashing, im using CM7 now and its so fast and stable
You can use CM7 and see it flying, but without some of the phone features, like video call (I'm not talking about Skype or viber, just the native one), smart share, divx, hdmi video resize... Or you can try one of stock roms with the great kernels from here and have a full phone.

Thanks for all the replies. Will try out soon. Also, I have noticed that the battery life for the optimus 2x is so bad! With stock froyo last night, after just about 2hrs of some wifi and games, the battery has already gone down to 15%!!! That's how bad it is!
Is this normal? Should I return the phone to the store?
Also, will the gingerbread update and/or custom rom flashing bring about better life for the battery?

DjangoManouche 1.1 is highly recommended with V20q baseband and HP SR3R2 Kernel. After trying out many stock variants, Modaco ROMS, Thanatos and CM ROMS, I finally settled on this one as it has resolved all the issues I had with the phone and gives good battery and network performance.
I'm searching for super stable daily usable ICS ROM for Optimus 2X. And it should be clean of all LG rubbish (like ROMs for Nexus series). Just pure ICS with no bugs. Do you know some? Thank you very much.

Read the thread name mate and then try to read what others have said in the posts....
For your information....that is not an ICS ROM based on ics official sources ...it is one based on v20s gb sources.
Please don't misguide others.

Seriously as soon as the orignal cm10 builds launched I started using them. They are as pure android as you will get.
Running pengus's cm10 for the new bootloader seems to be perfectly bug free apart from HDMI but i use mine as a phone.
They have ported the ics camera to this a s well so no more half built cm camera.
No call bug.
I could go on all day.
The Stock-ICS-ROM is pretty "clean", too ... they learned from their mistakes with putting way too much junk into the GB-stock-roms.
Although there are some bugs in the official Stock-ROM. At some phones, it works fine, but on others, like mine, random-reboots occur, and the phone sometimes BSODs when plugged in any Powersource, no matter if stock-loader or USB.
Things did not get better with flashing DjangoManouche X1.2.1, although this rom is pretty fast, especially when combined with pengus77's Kowalski-kernel
I switched to ParanoidAndroid just yesterday, and I have to say it works pretty nice too ... It also uses the fantastic kowalski-kernel, and is stable as far as i can tell by now.
Edit: PA 2.5 is CM10-based, and thus JellyBean ... but it is an advantage!

For me, the must stable ICS is this:

Hello,
This is my first post,so hello everyone.
I have one question for you.
I need 1-2 Rom's for my Optimus Black.
I tested some Rom's, but I don't know which to choose.
I have 2 conditions:
-Rom Full Stable (all work)
-Android in version over 2.3.4 (ICS,JB, ETC)
Thanks for your help and I'm counting for you.
List for all Rom's:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2268290
Good luck with that!
All ICS and greater ROMs have issues on the OB. I got tired of all the SD card unmounts, loss of touchscreen, and other crap issues and went back to Marvel 9 (GB 2.3.4, with the "There is no delay" patch).
The ROM I've had the LEAST issues with was Marvel 12 (ICS); the only significant issue I ran into was a loss of all touch/swipe input. It would usually happen during an incoming call. I would miss the call, of course, and have to remove the battery to reboot the phone.

Hi guys!
I dropped OB to a N4, but gave the OB with stock to my father.
Last time I came here Huexxx was developing IZS. I saw it came through an end by Huexxx's hand (he got married and had kids if no mistaken).
And since OB is weak on the RAM isn't there any KitKat ROMs out there? Or at least being developed?
My old man deserves more than that crappy stock GB from LG XD
Tnx in advance :good:

If I were installing an OS on a phone, computer, tablet, or any other device FOR SOMEONE ELSE, my target would be stability.
GB offers greater stability on the P970 (OB) than any other version of Android. I played with other, newer versions, and got tired of all the hiccups and glitches.
I can do everything I need to do with GB within the confines of the OB. GB "just works".

I'd recommend Zeus 6.4 or Marvel 9 (again with the "There is no delay" patch: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27486197).
Zeus 7.06, also based-on GB, was rather flakey for for me. Many FCs on certain Apps.
I run Marvel 9 and it's absolutely solid. No complaints. I also played with Zeus 6.4 and found it to be a great performer and stable.

Hi,
I have a LG Optimus Black P970 with Android 4.0.4 and I want to try a new ROM. (my phone started to have lag)
Please recommend me a stable ROM that will have no bugs.
Thanks !
That's hard to say...I believe that every rom has its own failures. Even stock roms do.
I've been using for the past 3/4 weeks the latest nightly of CM10 (01/01/2013) + Mackay kernel 3.2 for CM10 + LG camera ported for CM10. So far, I don't have complaints.
With this, I have gps and camera fully working.
