Hanging With Friends - Xoom Themes and Apps

Looks like Zynga finally released this for Android. However, support is only for 2.1-2.3.3 devices. Can someone pull the apk from their phone and post here? Has anyone given this a shot on the XOOM?

I used Bluetooth File Transfer to send it to my Transformer (using the Send Application option), and it installed just fine. Scaled nicely and works as it should. I don't have the apk handy, but as I said, it's easy to transfer if you have an Android phone.

Netflix on nexus

NETFLIX--I tried to stream a movie running froyo and get an error below. Can someone confirm this does not work or can someone trick the system to see if we can get it to work.
Netflix requires Silverlight (a microsoft technology) that the N1 doesn't have. I've heard that Netflix is working on making an app for android, but until then you are out of luck.

[Q] Iphone video wont play on my Aria

My Wife just sent me a video from her I phone and I cant view it. What do I do?
Tell your wife like i told mine. Set your Iphone on fire and get a [email protected]*% Android. Problem solved.
.
Most surely the iPhone uses a recording coder that aint recognized by your Aria. h.264 mayhap? Use a video conversion tool or select another format in the iPhone.
Ran into this as well. I haven't messed with it since right after I got the Aria, and am going on memory here, but here's what I did IIRC:
download the file to the Aria from your email app. Use a file manager app to browse to the iphone video file (I used astro at the time) and rename the file - change the extension from whatever it was (.mov I think) to .mp4 Try playing the file in the stock media player.
I had mixed success with doing this...not sure if it's due to varyiing settings being used on the iphone sending the video, or the means by which it's sent, or something else.
Final solution was to get my wife a Captivate

Honeycomb Music player available

Droid Life has posted the .apk for the upcoming Honeycomb (Android 3.0) Music player. I have tested it on the G-Tablet (running TNT Lite 3.12) and on my Droid 2 and it works great. Please keep in mind that not all features are working yet...it is still a work in progress.

Yeah, I had problems downloading from my Droid 2 as well... I had to connect to the PC as Mass Storage and download it that way instead.
Here is another link

I bet the streamed music has to do with Googles purchase of simplified media. I used it back in my iPhone days and it allowed me to stream my whole iTunes library to other computes or my phone.
Thanks for sharing.
Have you guys looked at Audiogalaxy? There was a post today about it. You download a free app from the market, setup a little tiny program on your pc. Tell the pc program where your music is and stream away. I am using it and it works great... I just used my Facebook login with it and it worked..

With this audiogalaxy is it possible to have music on my droid and send it to the gtab? and like remote control the music PLAYING on the gtab from the droid? cant seem to get any program to work the way i need/want it to. tried twonky but it wont recognize the gtab as a player when using the droid app on the droid. main goal is to be able to pretty much control music on the gtab while its plugged into speakers from across the room or anywhere in the house.

Lapdock, full resolution RDP?

Hello Everyone,
I have had my Droid 4 since launch and have been pretty much too busy for customization until now. I was able to get it rooted and everything thanks to the help of these forums, but there is one key feature I am hoping for that I have so far not been able to find a solution for anywhere here or at droidforums or with general Google searches.
I have a lapdock for my Droid, (stock Gingerbread but rooted) and I would love to be able to open a full resolution RDP session to my Windows 7 computer at home. I found that some people were able to install and run a Ubuntu image ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1509836&highlight=lapdock ) however they still needed to access the GUI with a VNC client. As long as the GUI is accessed with an Android VNC app, when you use the app full screen on the lapdock it just interpolates the image (as it is running at the Droid 4's resolution of 960x540)
I know there was success with the Atrix with webtop2sd and installing applications like rdesktop to the Webtop environment itself. Has anyone tried this with the Droid 4?
If there are any other tips or tricks to get a full resolution RDP session running in Webtop I would greatly appreciate them. It also looks like once we get a ICS rom with HDMI support that it would probably work fine too, as it looks like Webtop 3.0 just gives a full resolution tablety interface instead of the desktop one, which is fine since all I want is full resolution RDP and if Android itself is full reolution it should work fine with an Android RDP client.
Thanks in advance,
Legomaniac
Stupid question, but have you tried a remote desktop app?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xtralogic.android.rdpclient
i use this and it works fine, but i'm not using an docks or cables. Oh and there are free apps, i've just been using this one forever

I am well aware of the fact that there are RDP clients for Android, I have one installed and use it when I am not docked with the Lapdock. The problem is that all Android apps that are run fullscreen with the lapdock get interpolated from 960x540 to 1366x768. This produces a very fuzzy RDP session that isn't conducive to getting work done.
As I mentioned above, the Atrix community seems to have had luck with getting an ARM version of rdesktop running in Webtop. I am just hoping there is someone in the Droid 4 community who has had luck in the same area.

I have not tried this with a docking station, but .215 ICS leak's webtop works in higher resolution than mirror mode on both my TV and projector.
If you can't wait for the ICS version, I recommend installing the leak. I did and now this phone is all I wanted it to be. I'm not even going to bother installing the final ICS version anymore, because it'd only be risky in case they decide to block some features (especially important for me, being a European user).
Wait, so the .215 ICS leak supports HDMI out and works with lapdocks?
If so this is probably exactly what I need.

It supports HDMI with webtop 3 for sure, but don't have a lapdock myself for testing. Since lapdock is just HDMI + USB, I don't see any reason why it won't though!
Well, last night I installed the ICS .215 leak, and I must say, I really like Webtop 3.0! (plus ICS is just way sexier than Gingerbread)
Thanks for letting me know about HDMI working with the leak Sjaakbanaan. I had read somewhere in the forums that HDMI wasn't working, but i'm guessing that was quite an old post from when the very first ICS leak came out.
I love how apps change into "Webtop mode" which is essentially just their tablet layout. Being able to use all of the Android apps at full resolution on the lapdock is just awesome. I have a Microsoft Bluetrak USB mouse with a micro adapter that I just leave plugged into one of the Lapdock's USB ports. It is amazing! I am going to be using this setup on campus all through this year for taking notes and viewing slides in class (plus maybe some Facebook chat, lol)
Now the only issue is finding an RDP client for Android that doesn't need me to hold down the mouse button to move the cursor on the remote session. (since most So far I have only tried Teamviewer, which isn't actual RDP in the first place, i'm guessing there is a client somewhere in the Play market that is optimized for mouse input however.
Does anybody know of one of the top of their heads?
Thanks again Sjaakbanaan!
You're welcome!

I usually use an app called 'Remote RDP' for real RDP connections (it has a free version), but don't remember if it has the exact input mode that you like. On my Prime I usually prefer Splashtop (built-in version) instead of actual RDP

Transfer MP3s from PC?

Forgive the cross-post, but I'm trying (and failing) to transfer mp3 files from my PC to my new Galaxy Watch 3. I know I can use the Wearable app, but I don't want to duplicate the files on my phone and then upload them to my watch. Also not wanting to do it through bluetooth, which will take forever.
I want, but can't find the simple "Music Manager" wifi function as seen in the vid below and the Samsung support articles:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3v54WyNbQg
https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00078019/
https://www.samsung.com/hk_en/suppo...er-music-files-from-iphone-to-gear-s2-s3-fit/
I've tried the Teleporter app, and it's never worked for me. I even tried out this crazy solution using the Tizen Studio:
https://www.reddit.com/r/gearfit/comments/5pww1w/music_transfer_with_no_samsung_device/
from which I managed to upload an mp3 file into my watch after launching the device manager, but my watch's music program couldn't recognize the basic mp3 file (though I saw it in there using a file explorer).
How can they make it this impossible? Why can't we just upload files straight from our PC?
What am I missing?
As there is no way of physically connecting the watch to the PC (unlike the original Gear watches of years ago), you are stuck with the only real way, as painfully slow as it might be, using the wearable app. I don't think Samsung envisaged people loading 1000's of music files to a watch, maybe things will change now they are adding more storage.
Maybe you should contact Samsung support directly.
As you are using an iPhone your choices are also more limited. unless you finally work out that "Music Manager" solution you mentioned, but that only seemed to be compatible with the S2/S3/Fit models. Maybe Apple have blocked it in some way as sadly they have form for things like that.
I guess you will just have to bite the bullet - maybe do it in batches!
