Hi everyone, i'm having a hard time with my i9003 phone. All my music is saved my 32 gb micro sd card (Kingston), at first when I want to listen to the songs everything will work fine, then with time some songs may get corrupted or unplayable.
I get a message like "the player doesn't support such kind of file" or sometimes the mp3s get messed up I mean I can listen from 00:00 to 00:10 without problem then at 00:11 there will be a major skip to like 00:30 (in the original song) while it's still written 00:11. I did a low level format on the sd card and now formatting it back on windows for FAT32, a lot of people experience the same problem, how to fix it ? Thanks for your help
PS : I tried every kind of methods to put the songs in the sd card (samsung kies, usb storage)
Anyone experiencing the same problem?

Hello.
I am trying to copy-paste my quite extensive mp3-collection to my Galaxy S. Its about 6GB.
The problem is that I don't want to use Kies as it mucks up all my ID3-Tags...at least it did the first time I tried it.
I just put the phone in Mass Storage mode and tried to copy-paste the Mp3's to the /music folder on the external SD. When I tried to let it copy all together I disconnected the phone properly (safely remove, then disc. from the screen) and let the media scanner run...it didn't find anything. When I connected it to the PC again I saw that the /music folder was empty and the /Lost.dir folder was 6 GB. So the files probably ended up there somehow.
Afterwards I tried copying the folders with my mp3s one by one, disconnecting the phone after every one and letting it search again and again and it worked fine for the first 3 GB...after one more copy paste it lost the new folder and wiped half of the rest which were working fine by then along with it.
I also tried doubletwist and WMP, same problem there.
I'm running Froyo.
Thanks for reading. Any ideas?
When you say you have tried WMP, have you sync'ed them to the card as you would do a mp3 player? It has never failed on me in the past so not sure what else to advise.
Also you may have a corrupt SD card or a fake? Make a backup of the files you have on it at present, then format the card, replace the back'ed up files and try again. There are allot of fake cards sold on ebay and there are some programs about that give diagnostics on cards so might be worth running one to see the genuine capacity and/or to see if there is any corruption.
Yep, I tried syncing as with a normal MP3-Player. Its really weird as it does this only with music and it also does it retroactively...it has lead me to believe that theres some kind of problem with the media scanner.
The card is bought off ebay, but its original Kingston...it was sealed up and everything. I formatted it yesterday just to be sure...didn't bring up any errors...I'll take a look at those programs you mentioned though.
Thanks.
Hmm... If it's only happening with music it might be worth checking to see if there is any DRM on the music files as well. If there is any you'll need to run them through a convertor to remove this.
My music files all AAC+ moved to external SD card .
New Folder on SD card named SONGS and placed all music in that folder via USB mass storage mode .
But all my music is DRM free .

Hi guys,
this might be really noobish question, but I hear a lot people talking about partitioning their SD card and I dont really understand what that means.. I tried to search, but all I could find were a ways of doing it rather than what it really is.
Now the issue: I have SGS with 32gb nokia class 2 SD card. So far I had only one issue with the card and that is when I put video files on it (no matter what format mp4, avi, mvk and so on) there is always a point in the video, when the it shows a lagy squared-like screen and skips like 1-3 minutes of video which really bugs me :/. Also, sometimes when I put flv files on it, they just stop after playing for some time (lag) and only audio goes on with video stuck.
I never had the problem when putting the files on internal SD card, they just play along..
as for the partitioning, should I partition ? Some simple definiton would be helpfull What are the benefits/risk of it ?
thank you very much !!!
the video lag and the skipping maybe do to the fact that your sd card is class2 or it's ajust an older model don't know for sure i have a 16 gb class6 sdhc and i'm playing 720p video file downloaded from youtube and mkv and other stuff without any lag borrow from one of your friend an sd card and see if there's any difference as for partitioning your card i don't see the point in doing that

Click to collapse
well I dont think that would be the case, because it handles saving 720p video from camera and than playing it without problems. The issue is not lagging, its more like skipping the part of a movie or, when playing flash not finishing the movie...
do you think I should try to return the card ? Because I really cant use a card for movies and thats pretty much everything beside music I have it for..
For some reason everytime I try to transfer tv shows or movies to the phone, both internal or external memory, it won't transfer and says that the windows explorer has stopped working. Every single time this happens no matter how many times i try. And it only happens for some files. Other files will transfer perfectly no matter the size of the files.
Another issue is that when I do transfer the files, even though I have used some space it will still say that the space is the same as before.
I'm on windows 7 64 bit.
Any ideas how to fix?
weird problem your having... how big in size are these tv shows ?? do you have an external sd card... if so plug that in to the pc and copy them to that, then back in the phone and move to phone memory or leave on the external card...
or you can just stream them from your pc, using built in 'allshare' app or a range of others found on the market
Each show is about 150-175 mb. The issue is that some shows will completely transfer without any problems. I've transfered 4 GB altogether at once but other shows won't do it. But then other shows will not even start transfer but immediately say that windows explorer has stopped working. I've tried transferring to both external and internal but they both give me the same problem.
This also only seems to be an issue with videos as I've never had any trouble with music.
No roots, lagfix, nothing, just stock 2.2.1
Sounds more like a problem with your computer. Try copying the shows that give you trouble to a memory stick or something to test.
Wifes phone been playing up for a few weeks so i finally had a look at it for her reset back to factory as she had nothing on the phone itself backed entire sdcard up to pc then gave new 32gb card for storage for music and such.
