Is it normal for android phones to send a text to every person who got the message someone else sent you? Lol. I know blackberrys showed the others but I never had a phone that messaged everyone else when I was just trying to respond to the original sender.

It's been a while since I changed this on my phone. Try this.
1. Open the Text Messaging app
2. Menu > Messaging settings > Thread group conversations (unchecked)
I think that's what I did to respond individually. If it doesn't work, just set it back.
Hahaha. Funny story. I discovered this "feature" a couple days ago. A buddy of mine sent out a beautiful pic of the scnery with the question "where do you work?" And I went to reply to him with a nsfw pic, and it went to everyone on the list. Including his mom. Some hilarity ensued.

Very simple. And 1 word says it all. Search. And if you say you searched and didnt find anything, I call BS.
I'm posting here for a tutorial, not told to search my friend..a personal walk thru is what I'm asking, thanks

And im informing you there are already ones out there. Why the need for double posts on the same thing? There are actually a few of them in this forum. Or you are admitting you are too lazy to search and want someone to do it for you?
If that's the case bro, I could post 50 times a day wasting my time telling people to search instead of taking a few to assist an individual.
Btw running your kev froyo noti bar, truly love it man..keep it up. Can you make it where I swipe up to temp hide it, an bring back? Just an idea, may be a problem if people don't know where it went or how to get it back...lol

Thats the problem. People dont take the time to search when the answer is already there. The time yuo have taken to reply each time to me, you could have already found the answer.

I have deleted the stock messaging app and installed Handcent. Whenever I receive a text message, I receive two notifications. The first is the stock messaging envelope icon, followed by the Handcent icon. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Wrong section. Also, I thought even the Handcent Market page tells you that you need to disable notifications in the stock messenger.
Yeah, wrong section, but just go to settings in the stock app and disable auto-retrieve.

My apologies. I will try elsewhere. But, fyi, I cannot change the settings in the stock app because I deleted it.
why delete it, just leave it and turn off the notifications for that app.

It has already been deleted. Otherwise, I would turn off the notifications in the stock app. But I cannot open the stock app to turn off the notifications because it no longer exists in the app folder.
Okay, um, extract the MMS.apk file from whatever rom you're using (adb or root explorer) and copy it to /system/app. Then open the apk from /system/app and install. Then open messaging and change settings. Hope it works!
It's simple 3 step process...
1. Search
2. Read the forum rules
3. And, POST in the right section...
Hey forum cop's, this Guy came looking for help. I don't think he needs to be told its the wrong place 4 times. When did linuk/forums/XDA become more about putting people in there place and less about just helping?
If you reflash you should not lose anything.
But same as others have said with putting back the stock app or just reflash the rom you ate using should do it. As long as you have not changed.

Dude - it's not about helping or not helping... people have always answered questions and went out of their way to help out. But this basic stupidity (some might call it arrogance) of not reading rules, guides, wikis - which everyone out here has put in their precious time to develop and update, is unacceptable. And over and above that, this guy has posted this question in two different places... what do you say about that?

everything below the THIS (aka the signature) Mine starts with "TRusselo" and ends at "things!" and has nuts in-between!
If you are using the tapatalk app then it doesn't show sigs, which is an abbreviation for signature.
Thanks guys. Seeing as how I use mobile app 99% of the time, it explains why I have never saw it. I'm guessing it is set up through my profile page?

If you are going to reply to a quote make sure you are typing out side of the quote or it all gets lost. And like I said before, there are 2 sigs. The one on top is the app sig, that only shows up if you posted from the app, the one on the bottom is the site sig and always shows up.
I use the app most of the time also I noticed this a while back when it would say , "sent using a samsung I897" our whatever the default app sig is, so I turned it off and all you see is my site sig, or on the app just my posts.
Thanks. I thought i was outside the quote.
i appreciate the insight.

Thanks for the video. Friday's almost here!
I didn't realize they put the power button on the top left. That's a weird spot to put it...I do like that they put the proximity sensors on the left side of the front. That is a major design flaw on my s3 at the moment (every time I'm on a phone call and I try to swipe down notifications, screen will turn off since it registers my thumb.)

This was the same problem with the EVO 4G LTE. I'd always end up tripping the proximity sensor when I swiped down the notification bar during calls and what not. I like the new position, and it adds a little more industrial aspect to the overall look of the handset.

Yeah, just fixed that. That was my fault. I meant if you want to know more about the phone, I'll be happy to answer questions. I've been typing a lot today. I think it's time to take a break from the computer.

explicit, how is that battery holding up?
Also, it might be a network issue, but my LTE would have trouble with incoming texts that are more than 160 chars. So I would receive the 2nd text first, then the initial text would come in second. (When one long text gets broken down into 2). I was wondering if the One did this too.
