Just pulled the apk and can confirm it's not working for us YET!! Hopefully that'll change soon!!!
App installs fine. But it doesn't seem to stream the movies. It gets a little farther than previous apk files. It shows like the movie wants to play but then it goes back to main menu. Then something came up on my notification bar saying drm license required. I tried it both in 4G and wifi.
Hopefully it gets ported to the thunderbolt soon.
I know ya'll got some great dev's over here I've been keeping an eye! Lol

Same here, it was about to play, then stopped, drm license, closest I've seen it to actually streaming something though

Same here... actually started playing the starting movie intro sound then.... DRM...DAMMIT... hope something comes about soon
i can play about 5 seconds of audio (no video) then it goes back to the queue. it doesn't quit. it doesn't give me any error message about DRM.
Don't kill me over the piracy in technical terms of what i'm about to say but can we pull the DRM file from a Evo if it's a file, somehow merge it with the Apk like a Patch? or can we put it on our phone in the Drm location?
Those of you guys that have tried this on the T-bolt... what ROM are you on?
I know for Das Bamf they removed the DRM APK's that may be required to run this app. I think some other ROM dev's did this as well.
Are any of you on a stock ROM no de-bloat or anything? Maybe the DRM APK's that were taken out are all we need to get this running.
im on Das Bamf and get the DRM message
Same here... somebody from one of the other posts is supposedly stock rooted so it's not looking good without some dev work... only time will tell

No luck on VirusROM either. I don't get the DRM error, but it does start briefly then go back to the menu
T-Bolt Rooted Stock Sense, bloat removed with root explorer, same DRM issue. Something using Root explorer i noticed. In the Manifest there is a line of code saying Debuggable = false, if we change that to true, maybe we can have the app Debugg for us and it would help us find out what it's looking for?
i was running thunderrom and i had no streaming, I changed to CM7 and it would actually look like its gonna play. I did get sound but nothing played and it went back to the main menu after 5 sec

It's a HTC based app, doubt Moto would be supported on any device.
Yes, I know I could just install a custom ROM. But I'm just looking for the quick fix. I heard the latest OTA breaks root and makes it harder to root or impossible. Just want to get rid of the notifications for now.
Alternatively, does anyone have the build.prop from the OTA that I could just copy over so the phone thinks it's updated?
It requires more than just a build.prop edit.

What is this, a secret society? If I need to do more than modify the build.prop, then what is it? Would you like me to rephrase the question?
You asked what to modify in the build.prop. I answered your question. No need for the smart alec secret society comment. This is a pretty chill group of people that will do anything for anybody. I for one take that kind of stuff personal and would generally not help out, but I'll be nice this time around.
You have to update, modify the boot.img, modify the update apk, or you can delete the Update apk and lose bluetooth.

Ok, so you're saying that if I want to go back to Derap 1.1 all I have to do is delete the updat.apk but I'll lose BT? I don't have to modify boot.img and update.apk just delete update.apk? I'm cool with losing BT, I don't use it.
I really appreciate the work you are doing MT. I just like the stock themed ROM like what was in Decrap a little better than the green.
Keep up the work though I may come back to Revolt yet! You said you were working on a more stock themed ROM is that still going to happen?

Thanks! Bluetooth isn't a big deal.
Since renaming MobileUpdateClient.apk to .bak it looks like I'm going to get a serious boost in battery life. Since doing this, 3 hours ago, I've only lost 5% of battery. I would usually lose around 10% every hour. Maybe BT has something to do with poor battery life on this phone? I don't know, but it's worth looking into. I hope it's the case.
On a side note, you may want to reboot after update, or do what I did and try to enable BT. When you try to enable BT it will act like it resets the phone sort of like a soft boot. Phone feels lighter too....lol jk.
Hey guys I just got my thrill today. I don't know if there is any rom's currently able to run on this device but I do have the source code downloaded and plan on trying to create a rom but has there been a full back method found yet like tegra2 devices have nvflash?
Best of luck. Waiting for it.

You can make nandroid backups available through CWM, check out designgear's thread
Edit: Oh yeah, and my suggestion for a ROM? I would love a ROM that comes debloated, deodexed and zip aligned (just for easier theming - that does make theming / sharing themes easier, right?), has the speed tweeks/optimizations available for the Optimus 3D, obviously AT&T radio, and if I can dream a little, several more preinstalled fonts, LP or a psuedo gingerbready launcher, and some light theming with some matching backgrounds* and a matching bootup animation. A kernel that allows for OC would be nice to have I guess, but I can't imagine using it to be honest; the battery life is so bad already.
Good luck!
*If you know what colors you're using, I'd be happy to find or create matching backgrounds and/or a boot animation if you want.
If Possible and a big IF considering I have yet to see a device not HTC Branded that uses Sense but Would love to see a sense type Rom IF possible. Also would love an OC kernel considering battery isn't really an issue for me considering I am Always by a power source, that and I sit at home all day lol. Even if I didn't I would probably Underclock and Undervolt for battery Life than OC at night when I got home and wanted to do stuff on the phone.
I am looking through everything for the LG Optimus and I'm scouring the Texas Instruments site to see if I can find something there.

Android Wifi Tether has a new build out, that now supports Motorola Droid Bionic & RAZR. We need confirmation that it works on Droid 3/Milestone 3...
http://android-wifi-tether.googlecode.com/files/wifi_tether_v3_1-pre104.apk
For Droid 3: Everything should be automatic and "just work". If not, let me know.
For Milestone 3: You should be able to get things working by selecting the Droid 3 profile in the settings screen. I would like to get everything working automatically for all the different Milestone 3 variants, so what I would need to do that is:
Model Name: example, Motorola Droid RAZR (you guys are like xt860, etc...)
ro.product.device from build.prop: example, cdma_spyder
Thanks

Do you have the RadioComm edit? Looks like VZW did you Droid3 guys like Droid X with the GB update. It should properly work with the RadioComm edit, or a source built ROM like CM7, just like Droid X... It gives you a far more configurable interface than the built in tethering app. Thanks for testing!
Any non-VZW folks out there wanna give this a try?
Just tested on my Droid 3 tethered it to my tablet and it works great. Running .890 cm7 10/16 build.

I'll try this here soon. I'm getting the VZW screen even after the radio hack, so I might as well try this app. I'm also on the 5.7.894 leak and I wonder if the new kernel and baseband have anything to do with this screen appearing?
EDIT:
No luck here on rooted and debloated 5.7.894.

;( Unfortunately the app isn't meant to defeat measure like this which Moto/VZW has baked into their firmware. I'm amazed no one has turned the radio hack into an update.zip like the original TBH hack, and everyone is doing it manually...

I haven't tested that it works or not but for my ME863 (Milestone 3 Hong Kong version) ro.product.device is umts_solana.
One question I have is, how do I remove its binaries? I noticed after I ran it that my device already includes a "Mobile hotspot" binary, which actually popped up when I turned on WiFi Tether, so I'm hoping they don't interfere with each other...
I see a "reinstall" button but no "uninstall" button. I assume it wouldn't have overwritten anything that was already installed, right?

Great I'll hopefully get that device info in for the next build, if not, should still be soon... for now the Droid 3, targa or razr profile should work for you.
Don't quote me 100% on this, as I am not the lead developer, just the guy focused on bringing Infrastructure mode to as many devices as possible... But, I believe both android wifi tether and the stock hotspot use the same prop entry to let the system know that tethering is on. So, when AWT fires up, the built in hotspot thinks you've turned it on. Tethering should still work properly.
I'm still new to the project, so hopefully I'll be able to help refine things... Hostapd support is somewhat new to android-wifi-tether... Harald and I first getting it functioning on DroidX around new years. I had to step back from nerding out on android for a bit. I'm back now, though... And ready to make a huge impact... When version 3 hits the market, it will be monumental!
Latest build... Sorry, should have put this link here in the first place.

Yeah. I just finished setting up again after flashing. I've noticed a few back end things that didn't work before now seem to be working. For instance, before if I did a check for update it would say check for system update is not available. Now I get the usual no update necessary message. Other than that it seems the same.

Honestly, there's not much difference and if you're happy on 2233, I'd stay there. I'll continue to flash each new leak out of curiosity. A final build should be appearing in the next few weeks, because Motorola has early Q3 as there expected release which only gives them until mid-August at the latest to finalize, test, and gain approval for the update.
I wonder if there will be any differences in the official ICS release and the leaked .2233? Honestly i havent found anything wrong with 2233 yet aside from recovering a nandroid backup of it.

Mostly the issues I have found include things in Motoblur apps or backend stuff (such as the missing System Updates I mentioned earlier, Social Gallery not allowing you to add accounts, and the Device Setup wizard force closes after the initial run through), and I believe some of this stuff has been purposely disabled for these "test" builds. I also think HDCP has yet to be enabled, as running Hulu Plus in webtop mode gave me a black screen that said HDMI output has been disabled. Two of those four things are now fixed in 229, and I'm going to test Hulu Plus in about an hour. It is very close to being a done deal for sure. I would expect a new leak or two in the next two weeks with all these issues ironed out, followed shortly by news of a soak test in late-July, and a final release the first week of August. But that's all speculation on my part.

Not sure why, but after flashing to .902 and updating several times on .2233, I went back to .902 to get this new leak on, and promptly got stuck on the dual core logo. I reflashed .902 -- it went perfectly both times -- but got stuck on the big red dot again. Left it alone for almost three hours, and all it did was kill my battery.
Any idea why the exact same .902 file and procedure that I used many times before would suddenly decide to crap out on me?
Can I just flash this update over the 2233 or do I have to go back to 905 first?
