Everyone that is making roms/kernels we can get together on here and discuss development. (others are more than welcome as well it is a public channel) We can learn from each other and even maybe setup contests that have no actual prize except bragging rights (first to release something, first to get a feature working, who took the biggest dump that day etc)
We have the channel, it is empty almost always. I am going to start leaving the channel open on my phone because to me this is a good idea. Just want to make all of our phones the best they can be. This forum is really starting to take off let's do what we can to keep it moving along.

Open and close

They keep closing the threads and we'll keep opening.
That's right. Keep the masses silent until they rise up and revolt. Good strategy. Ask the Roman empire how that worked out for them.
Miss you DJ.

Yeah dont worry about xda...you can follow dj on tweeter and he has his own website..go dj profile or one of his thread and youll see tweeter account. Xda moderators has strict rules guidelines that they must follow avoid any lawsuits etc...
Dmonsterprod. I believe is the twitter. He's a great dev that actually answers questions and helps people without smug comments or the need to be superior.

[Q] development stalled?

It looked like devs were jumping on the Bionic at first, but now it seems there is nobody working on new rom development.
I have tried unleashed and it is nice, but was really looking forward to CM7.
Goto IRC, and the channels for Bionic are DEAD.
Anyone have any news of any new rom dev going on at all for the Bionic?

Go to AndIRC #bionic
And Team Liberty has been working hard on our ROM... Although its still a week or two out... I do release test build on IRC though
Its not always dead in there. But I have to agree its not hopping like the Charge channel.
I think the locked bootloader and lte radios have a big part in things being slow. I'm willing to bet it will pick up soon enough
Edit.. and note my above statement is for freenode #bionic. I've yet to be to AndIrc.... headed there now

Thanks kejar, I was downloading your latest 39 build and you must have cancelled the page when my download was about finished, because it said complete on my end. I formatted everything on my Bionic and tried to install the 39 zip for it to only tell me it was a bad zip.
No biggie, I made a nandroid
I'd say the biggest problem is this: devs don't get paid for this and the bionic is $600 off contract. Alot of them have families and jobs/careers outside this - actually I would say most do.
My best advice? If you like a dev and want to see him give the bionic love, reach out to him. Start a donate thread.
For the time being, Unl3ash3d is doing me good. Looking forward to Liberty and CM7.

^^^That right there hits it on the spot... This is a free service and most people don't contribute to the devs so it takes more time for things to come around... But sometimes this is the best way because it produces the best results
I agree, I have donated to most of the devs. I had thought everyone donated to one of the cm7 devs.
I don't ask for anything for free, that's not my point.......
My point is, dev has stalled on Bionic.

Liberty and CM7 are coming, and probably Eclipse soon.

I've had 8 android devices in a combination of phones and tablets. What they've all had in common is threads like this. It's still very early in the game. Development will pick up.

Who do you follow on Google Plus?

I want to give Google+ another go - who do you follow that makes it worth visiting in the absence of any of my friends being on there?
Even though I love the way Google + works, none of my friends are there. Having said that I follow, Google, XDA, Shen Ye, IGN, and some other unknown people which Google thinks that they are interesting
Follow your devs, Android news pages and check the what's hot section. Google+ is full of sane people and there are almost no idiots.

Can someone please explain the difference between the "following" circle and any other circle? Is it meant so I can add people that I don't know?

"almost no idiots"
Relatively. It's still the internet, though.

I just signed up a few nights ago, but i haven't done anything with it yet. I'm not even motivated. I'm not a big fan of social networks. So signing up was as far as I got, but most people I would consider following are already on XDA, and redundancy is something I'm trying to do away with in my life.
So, we'll see.

I use it to follow people like Leo Laporte, and other random tech people I can't seem to remember now...

I used to have a good IRC. To hang out in called aosprom but it's been a long time shut down to the best of my knowledge but we talked about development. With the rom and just in general fun too but I need a new IRC that does the same things
Tl;Dr I need a good IRC that talks about development and fun
