Have this problem for 3 days already. Tried to flash to another ROM and it doesn't help. Googled this problem, looks like is a ton of complaints from people experiencing this problem but I can't find any actual solution. Can you help please? I'm tired of this already. Did a factory reset too and it didn't help.
Help please.
Yeah, had this issue some times with the new market.
Yesterday, when it happened again, I just cleared market app data and re-tried.
It worked.
Don't know if it'll last though..
Yeah mate, looks like it helps in some cases. But i tried it many times and it didn't help. I found a solution that deals something with "gmail" and "GoogleMail", but i don't know how to make a @googlemail e-mail.

So you've also tried deleting "Download manager" app data and "Google Services Framework" app data?
Are you using the new market too?
Hmm, [email protected] bugs
edit:
Maybe you should try this one too!

I have tried old and new markets, including latest 3.1.5. It doesn't help. Also i tried to clear Download manager app data. But I haven't tried deleting google services framework app data. I can't try it now because i don't have access to the wi-fi.
I think if your advice will not help i'll flash stock GB ROM.

Try wipe cache and fix permissions using CWM
SoulTrain, do you mean "wipe cache partition" or "wipe Dalvik cache"?

did anyone get this fixed?
I'm also having the same problem, I been searching forums for two days trying to sort this but to no avail. I've cleared caches, installed updates, used a diff version of market app but my apps still are stuck on the "starting download..." screen..
I'm on stock Rom on sgs2, Tesco mobile UK.
any help would be appreciated, thanks
Android Market needs the Google Talk service to download and update applications. Without Google Talk, more downloads from the market ... I think
try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773272
do you use droidwall or something?
@ batahulu, don't think that's my problem, I don't think I've deleted any files by mistake and my Google talk workable fine. thanks tho.
@Dr.wtf., no not using it. I am using lookout and avg but I turned these off and tried too thinking it might be some firewall or sumat but still nothing... I don't know what more to try as I've done nearly everything I can find short of a factory reset. thanks mate
i had this problem long ago whaen i was in amertis ROM....... i tried many things like clearing cache, reinstalling the rom, clear data, even changing google account......but unfortunately it didnt helped..... then googled it and found that its a "CUSTOM ROM" problem.....
then after changing the rom it was fixed......
so my suggestion is that keep trying different ROM....
Goodluck
I've the market stuck on starting download only when I buy a paid app. Strange the free ones download just fine.
Samsung Galaxy s2 android 2.3.6
Yeah exactly the same here, two paid apps are stuck while at the same time I can download free ones.... I tried to download on pc but still not working
Taz..
I had the same problem,...
another rom was my only way to get it working...
I signed into Google wallet on the pc and put in my credit card details again, Google then sent me email asking me to confirm my date of birth and would you believe about 2 hrs later my market started working. Before this I only put my details in from my phone and think that may have been the problem, I think it may be worth a try...
Taz..
Push from Google Play
I've got a Motorola XT720 experiencing this problem as well, and I've tried all the wiping-related methods to no avail. However, I found another workaround that doesn't seem to have been discussed so far.
If I go to the Google Play Accounts web page (sorry, no link - new user), I can use the "Install" button to remotely command my phone to download the app.
It works for a couple tries, then I have to reboot, but at least it gets me somewhere. Hopefully this method can help others too.

I tried this again after a fresh wipe and new sd card with reformat. I can't downlaod the audio volume hack from the market. I get download unsuccessful each time! Please help. I'm running touch flo 3d latest build.
So I think this issue is because its a paid app ? Is this in all future hero builds or just a temporary issue? And when is YouTube hq be going to be possible
i'm getting the same thing with AndCam3D. it won't let me download, says "download unsuccessful", yes it's a paid app but i've DL'd paid apps on this rom (JACxROM love it!! ^_^ ).
Has anyone found a solution or a cause of this????
aight, so i've rebooted, toggled the wifi a few times, toggled the 3G, cleared the market cache, cleared the Dalvik-cache in the ext2 partition and i still can't get an app to download from the market. the thing is it's a paid app and every time i try to download it it just says download unsuccessful and i don't want to pay for an app that will never download. lol. i've downloaded paid apps on this rom (so i know it ain't the rom) but for some reason this one won't dl. i've been going at this **** all night. nothing. =/
any help in any way would be greatly appreciated.

why don't you try contacting Meltus (it's his app I believe, right?) He may be able to help you out with it.
Good luck
Please help. I'm running the stock rom, and the android market apps keep failing to install. No matter what I do, even if I factory reset, it works for a little while then stops. Is there any way to fix this? It is really annoying and I don't know what to do. I've tried searching the forums, but all the suggestions don't work. Please Help!
Stock ROM, meaning JF6?
Yeah, sorry, thats what I meant.
Im having the exact problem on my captivate...no fix yet, except it works on the i9000 froyo firmware for some reason.

Is it force closing once it starts to install? If so, I ran into the same problem and going in Manage Applications and clearing the Market's cache and uninstalling updates helped me.

Yeah, I tried that. Still didn't help. Then I ran across a post suggesting going to Manage Applications, make sure to filter all, and go to Download Manager, and clearing the Cache and Clear Data, and that worked for me.
2 days ago, my SGS suddenly cannot install app from market.
After download has reach 100%. App just won't install.
Tried downloading a few other apps to test, same result.
I've restart the phone for a few time.
Take out sim card, battery and memory card.
Off 3g and use Wifi.
Clear market cache.
My problem still exist after doing all the above.
Can anyone kindly assist? What is wrong with it.
Thank you.
log onto Talk and see if that helps, other wise clear the market cache
And you can't update apps either?
and recalling your last succesfully and first unsuccesfull installed app?
last time i had this problem, i had to go into the 3 button Recovery Mode and then hit Wipe Cache
I had this problem too. Make sure to clear all Google product caches, not just the market. The worked perfect for me.

Sadly, it doesn't work for me.
thats really ODD, Wish I could help you. Only other advice is do factory reset. I had the problem but It was due to me not flashing a CSC file when I updated my rom.
Stupid question, but is there anyway to factory reset an internally rooted nook? I don't even really want to reset it, I just need to make my primary email something else so I can sell it without having someone have access to my email account through android market.
Thanks.
I had this problem too, except I used a friends backup to flash my new one, and tried the factory reset option, which just rebooted the device, and nothing else..
I ended up having to reflash it with a clean ROM..
What about removing gapps data and cache and then flashing gapps again? Just thinking out loud here.. no guarantees..

I read to do that in the net, too, but as weird as it sounds, I can't find google apps in the list of apps in my manage applications section of settings.
There's no 'gapps' application. You need to find market, gmail, Google framework, etc..

Sorry for the dumb response with the gapps thing. I went ahead and cleared the data on all those google programs, email, gmail, market etc. Anything else I need to do? I really don't know what you guys mean by 'reflash'. Sorry... but thank you!
Ok, good news guys. I got both "email" and "gmail" to completely forget about me. Bad news , the option to clear data on the market is completely greyed out. So I can't seem to get rid of my data on there, and it stills allows me to buy apps on the market. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the help so far!
EDIT: MAJOR problem!
I tried putting in the Clockwork recovery IMG and the new version of the stock os, but it seemed to boot normal. I tried rearranging the files, but now when I try to book the NOok up, card or no card, it does nothing . Did I just brick this ?
Certainly not.. format the SD and burn the cwr img again.
Just check that you do it right, it has been explained thousands of time on the forum.

Hi guys,
I have recently downloading the new Cyanogenmod for the Milestone, and although its a pretty good mod, I haven't been able to download things from google market. I have installed GAPPS when it was required, and I can navigate the market fine, it even picks up my bought purchases. However, when I click on download,it says that it is downloading but the bar doesn't move. I;ve reflashed and rebooted numerous times but that doesnt seem to have fixed the problem. I was wondering if any of you had experienced the same thing and if so, how could I fix it?
I have plenty of space on my phone and my SD card too so I can't see where the problem lies.
update, I have looked around a little, and it may be a problem that I cannot connect to googletalk server. Anyone know how to resolve this?
Also, switching from wireless to 3g to 2g doesn't seem to help either.
Having the same problem with my X10! Will show updates for my existing apps but when I click on them to update it just states that they are downloading and they never update! I have power cycles the phone, stopped the update, installed the Google market updates and tried again, still the same result!
I have a rooted X 10 with 2.1.
Anybody else having the same problem?
totally weird, but everything seems to be in working order now. I didn't do anything at all either.
I had to connect to flashtool and reload the os to get it working again!
Tried finding just the market .she file but wasn't sure which one was the one that was messed up! Didn't want to make it worse so just flashed the whole OS

i faced the same problem too, i've been coping with this for about 2 months on CM6 and now it's kinda getting in my nerves. I can't download from the Market and it's annoying when i want to download some apps in a big hurry. I see that i'm not the only one facing this problem, but may i ask for help here? what can i do to fix this problem? you have my thanks
Did you try flashing the OS again or reloading the CM6 ROM? Mine has been working fine since I flashed my OS again.

Wipe data, then flash the ROM. Google Apps you need to wipe both cache partition and dalvik cache AFTER flashing the ROM.

I used to have this problem after extendend periods without a wifi connection... it seemed like my purchases would only download on wifi, whereas free apps would d/l on cellular networks
I do have Market problems from time to time, being unable to download. I've try pretty much everything but nothing helped, except: waiting! If apps fail to download constantly, they'll do just fine the next day ...
It seems that the Market has internal problems that cause this. Also I have this behaviour once in a while: viewing "my apps" in the Market will sometimes (!) only show me the Google Apps (Maps, YouTube, etc.) and all the ones that I purchased but *no* free apps at all.
Same again: waiting some time will restore the original (and correct) list.

I think that might just be the limitations of the Gapps we flash. I get those same issues, but a simple reboot fixes everything, nothing to worry about!
