Hi everyone,
OK I need some advice (I'm still a n00b at all of this).
I changed my build.prop to be a HTC PC36100 at one point early in the spring so I could watch Netflix, and all was well... now that Netflix is open to all, I'm having another problem... I can't get Google+ to show up in the market place for me... to me this is odd, as I thought HTC PC36100 was the Evo, and there's no reason that it shouldn't pop up, but it doesn't....
So I'm not 100% sure if this is a build.prop issue or if I need to tweek something else. If it is a build.prop issue, what should I change it to? I'm running NookieComb_0.4.1.3_OC (not sure if that makes a HUGE difference or not)...
again, any help would be greatly appriciated by my n00b-ness...
danke,
JT

Just an FYI, I installed it and a bunch of stuff I couldn't find in the market before is there. ( I doubt it though )

Let me know what you think, I've had problems, so use at your own risk ( I should have put this earlier, I hope it didn't hurt anyone, as always back up first )

Cool.. Just loaded it on vegan beta 5.1. Seems to work just fine. Don't know if I see any more stuff, but never really had a problem finding things with the other ones.
I do notice that the appearance seems crisper. Like maybe they are using a higher quality. Or, maybe not.
Still the same for me. Stars still truncated. Missing apps still missing.
The new apk is about 600 MBA larger than earlier one.

Just for fun I went ahead and did the market fix again. Didn't need to but I saw the earlier post and was curious. I never could get it to open after the first reboot. Had to reboot again. Then once it started working I have noticed more of the "android.process.acore" errors, and server errors then with the older one. I will be rolling back to a previous version myself since this doesn't seem to really make anything better.
I wonder if there should be an updated GoogleServicesFramework with this?

Kind of wonder that myself. Did you notice any difference in the look? Like a higher res look for the fonts? Or was I just seeing things? That would sort of make sense for the size difference of the file I guess..
And I thought I was doing good. LoL dag nabbit

Works for me
I'm running vegan 5.1 with pershoots latest kernel and here are my findings thus far. I backed up market with titanium and installed the update, immediately opened market. Everything looks to be there, I searched for a few things and installed one or two. I looked for adw and couldn't find it, I did see its themes but not the app. Rebooted, loaded up market no fc's, until I tried to roll back to previous version to look for adw because I am almost certain it was there before. Interestingly I did see appbrain which I've never been able to get before. Never tried market fix, and did not notice any image improvement. Anyone know for certain what to look for to see if it actually improves previous market? I'm going to try and fix my market now and will report back if anyone's interested.
I installed via the apk (there is also an update.zip available) and all working well. No reboot or clearing Google Services Framework required.
I had previously preformed the well documented market fixes but could never quite get the entire market. Everything appears to show up now.
I'm not sure it is complete I can't find a few things. But then again I found a bunch of things I couldn't find before either. Catch 22 yet again.
anyone else having a problem with 'Media Volume' not working after this update? The rocker doesn't work, I tried to go in the settings (I had to unmute and turn the system sound back up - no dice), I even tried to play a video and turn up the sound using the software controls within that program....nothing works.
How do I revert back? Where is the old .apk located?
....also had to turn my wi-fi on with each reboot, which is new.
Running Vegan5.1
I think it would be most helpful if you guys actually listed the names of the titles of the apps that you either DO or DO NOT see once you have tried this. Just might help in the troubleshooting aspect. For what its worth.
ckelly,
search xda for market or vending.apk and you will find many versions to play with
Volume corrected on reboot #2.
Wi-Fi still needs to be manually connected..
@sixvolt
Since this appears to not improve things, you must have had even less apps show up than we did and this update brought you to par with the rest of us. Everything is relative
Hey all,
First off, I'd like to say i posted this question on evil's NXsense rom thread already, but that thread is pretty dead. I was just wondering if it was possible to regain the nexus one desktop dock bluetooth audio capabilities again.
the only thing i found after searching was this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5721627
can anyone confirm this working?

Try it for yourself... just download a Froyo ROM and pull the apk out of it, then install it on your phone with Sense and see if it works.
just tried, i pulled the clock.apk from TheOfficialNexus1 rom, and installed it. so now i have the stock nexus one clock app, but it doesn't trigger the dock to pair with the phone. any ideas as to which apk(s) it would be? i'm determined to figure this out. any ideas as to how to find out? im currently flashing TheOfficialNexus1 rom on my phone and using a task manager to see what new task pops up when i dock my phone.

I have no clue, but thanks for checking. I'd bet that it's a framework issue. I'm not a coder, but it would be cool if someone made an app that triggered the HTC Desk Clock on docking... it's much nicer than the stock one.

Found this on the net long while. Can't rmb where, and I didn't make it. But it works!
but i was playing around a bit with the framework and I managed to achieve the same result without the apk (result as in the deskclock coming up when charging), but still no audio.
so... after a couple days of cooking and testing, i still haven't managed to get the dock working on the nxsense v1.26. however i did find some info like http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=ke...334736426c8b33;hb=android-msm-2.6.29-nexusone
Maybe it's in the kernel + all the files listed at the beginning of the code? if there are any chefs willing to help teach me a few things, i'd like to start cooking for the nexus one. just need a helping hand to get started. i've had past cooking experience with winmo for the kaiser, but thats about it.
Hi there, I searched the forum for this and couldn't seem to find anything on it, and this had like 20 views and not one reply in the general Q&A section, so here goes;
I have a Droid Bionic on Verizon. I used Pete's one click root app and it worked great. I then loaded the Liberty rom as it was touted to have the best battery life. I love everything about the rom EXCEPT that there seems to be no visual voice mail with it. I don't want/need some fancy overly complicated vvm app like all the ones I found in the marketplace, so I was just wondering how/if I can get this resolved.
I tried downloading the Verizon VVM APK (I just Google searched for it) but then when I opened it, it popped up a message saying that my phone already had VVM on it and to use that one. I'm stuck.
I also just received a new update to my phone OTA, called 5.5.886.XT875. I'm on Android Version 2.3.4, if any of that matters.
This weekend I tried loading the UNLEASHED rom and the BLURRED rom this weekend, but one didn't have a camera app (BLURRED) and the UNLEASHED (which I'm using atm) is just slow and glitchy and I don't like it. I really wanna go back to Liberty but must have vvm for my line of work.
So, does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is there a way to contact a rom developer directly that I'm missing somewhere or something like that? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I think the dev spends more time over there.
i rooted my kindle, and so most games i download work now. But all Voltage Inc. games wont. They all pop up a web page saying they know I'm on a kindle. I've fixed it so they cant see my kindle is rooted and my id is shown as a fake one, but it still catches im on a kindle.
Is there a way to hide or change it so my Kindle just shows up as an Android phone to apps?
Would some terminal emulator code work for that?
Also, i cant for the life of me get my background and lock screen to change.
I'm using ADW launcher and tried themes for it but no difference.
I got my kindle as a present awhile back from someone who said they got it from a pawn shop (lol) so i don't know if that makes a difference. Its a second generation one, i figured that out when i was trying to mess with the ADB for ways to change the background... anddd at some point with my messing with it, its decided not to let me pull the notification bar down anymore and when i turn it horizontal the screen is black like ADW doesn't readjust.
Please help i know i should be happy with how far I've gotten but its too much fun to try and mess with it, you know? Modding is a little addictive.
don't be too harsh on me if you think i deserve criticism for my noobness.:crying:

First off,no one gets harsh for noobness here. We all help each other.
And now about your question. I would suggest flashing a custom ROM like CM instead of Amazon OS. But if you want to keep it stock rooted, try editing the build prop.

You sir, deserve a cookie
And to the OP, I remember a while back that there was an app for KFHD users that would allow us to change a setting temporarily to get different Play Store apps to work with our devices. I'll scrounge around and see if I can find it.

Hi there, easiest way is to change your build prop. This requires root and you don't need to flash roms etc but I recommend this if you want the "full" android experience. Ask me how to change build prop first if you are interested. If you change the build prop you can spoof your apps into thinking that your device is a different device. However it is quite safe ONLY IF YOU DO IT CORRECTLY. hope this helps!
Hi Everyone,
I'm really new to developing and using Android Studio.
I wanted to ask for advice on something that has been bugging me. When I press the green play button to send the app to my phone, it doesnt work if Module settings/project structure/Build Tools Version/ is set to 24.0.1 (as it was by default).
Instead, I have to change it to 23.0.3.
Can anyone shed any light on why this might be? I dont really understand what these settings even are so stand very little chance of figuring this out!
All help much appreciated
p.s im using a Galaxy Note 5
Do you see your device in the device selection window when you press the green play button?
If you don't, you may check on the Module settings/Flavors/Min Sdk Version/ whether it is beyond your phone Android OS version. If you're not sure about the number, you can check on https://source.android.com/source/build-numbers.html.
Hope this helps you.
