From last couple of days, I am not able to see any wifi networks on my Nook. I tried flashing MIUI, CM7 and stock firmware but no success. I even tried airplane mode settings given at forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/18630-wifi-not-working
Please help!
Try forgetting all remembered networks and then rebooting.

As I flashed CM7 and stock nook, I do not have any remembered networks. I tried creating a new one, and removing it, but it didn't work.
Flashed how? To eMMC? If so, follow the instructions here and do it again, Use the latest version of CWR (3.2.0.1): http://mrm3.net/nook-color-how-to-install-cyanogenmod-nightlies/
Yes, on emmc and its not my first time flashing a ROM onto NC. I own a Nook since January, and have tried various ROMS such as CM7, MIUI and HC.
I installed CM7, went to wifi settings, I didn't have any remembered networks ( fresh install), I created one for my home network, rebooted, then removed it and rebooted again.. Did I miss anything?
Download android assistant and see if you have airplane mode enabled in the app
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk
No. Airplane mode is not ON.
Try doing a clean install of nightly 200.

my solution:
Same thing happens to me with n177. I have to wipe everything (cache, data, system) and reinstall. I then run titanium backup with my wifi working. When it crashes, I restore the wifi access points, reboot, and it works.
(I don't have to do the full install once I restore the working backup)
Good luck!
So now I installed n200, still no wifi..
Do you have a backup of when you did have wifi working?
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk
Unfortunately no
can you see a list of wifi networks just can't connect? or no wifi at all?
I dont see any wifi networks at all.
same problem
I'm having the same problem. I was on nightly 201 but am using rom manager to restore to an earlier version. I hope this fixes the problem. I will download the latest version (203) and try that if this fails.
---------- Post added at 01:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:36 PM ----------
The restore to an older version did the trick. Then I lost it again, and then erasing the wifi connections as another user suggested also brought it back.
Now i'm other problems so I'm going to upgrade to the RC and see what happens. I found this other thread that suggests that perhaps the wifi being on after putting the NC to sleep caused this problem.

That is not really an upgrade. The nightlies are way ahead at this point.
You are right. I'm running 203 now and no problems so far. :-D

I was having the same problem after n201. I used ROM Manager to restore a backup of the version from 09202011. Then, when WIFI was working, I downloaded and installed nightly 206, because someone else here said WIFI worked with it, and it does. I'm having no problems with anything now. I just wish someone could help me get HBO Go and Hulu Plus to work!
Nothing really worked. (May be I screwed up)
So I restored system and boot images, Nook went into boot loop stuck at nook color logo. Took it to B&N where rep did a factory reset, obviously wifi didn't work, so we couldn't go through the registration process. This was sufficient for him to replace it with a new one..
Thanks everyone!
I'm having the same problem. I updated to 202 a few days ago and it stopped working (wouldn't recognize any wifi networks, and there are plenty in the area). Updated to 206 just now and still no wifi. It must be a CyanogenMod problem because I had the same problem on my Desire but yesterday's nightly fixed it for me on the phone.
Edit: deleting one of my saved networks forced a re-scan (even though I had selected scan numerous times) and it suddenly saw all of the networks in the area.

Hi everyone.
So, this is my problem:
http://images.orkut.com/orkut/photo...9E7ePr_8Am1T1UHiPgwGpeh7tb_Dn59t24Hsb_ZWU.jpg
My wi-fi is turning on by itself after i manually turn it off. And even when i set plane mode the wi-fi is still on. At first i thought it was impossible and i was dreaming but no. This is really annoying me, my battery won't last a day with my wifi always on.
If anyone could possibly help me with this problem i would really aprecciate it! =(
Oh and i already tried wiping all user data and tried flashing other roms as well. I tried shadowmod and cyanogen too. currently i'm using the froyomod 2.7. All have the same problem. I really don't know what to do.

Do you have any 3rd party power saving apps installed? For example, I have an app called "Network Switcher" installed, that given certain conditions, it turns on or off 3g and wifi. I have it set to turn 3g and wifi off between 11:15pm and 7:15am if the screen is off. (this helps save a ton of battery while I'm sleeping)
Your screenshot doesn't look like a clean stock ROM, so even if you did wipe data, it looks like you installed some stuff. Did you do a complete wipe back to stock, and it's still doing this?
No, i don't use any apps to save battery or manage my networks. And yes, everytime i install or upgrade to a new rom i wipe all data. I haven't tried using the 2.2 stock rom to see if i'd have the problem there too. I'm currently using froyomod, i have always used modified roms and i'd never had this sort of problem before.

So when did it start happening? Did you notice it after you installed something? Or after you flashed your current ROM? Did you have anything installed before that may have been saved to your SD card using apps2sd, and it somehow got "lost", but the setting remained?
If I were you, I would flash the stock 2.2.1 SBF (get it here: http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone221), and reflash the latest FroyoMOD on top of that. First back up all your app data using TB though, and restore afterwards. That may be your only hope.
I noticed it after i installed Froyomod 2.7, but i don't think it was the rom since nobody else complained about a problem like that. And i haven't installed any different apps than the ones i've always used.
Thank you for the advice! I'll try to flash the SBF file right now, and i will also erase my SD Card, just in case.
I'll let you know after it's done. Thanks again!!
Unfortunately i did everything as i was told and nothing worked, the problem won't go away. Guess i'll have to use the 2.1 stock rom. It's better than having my wi-fi always on. But thanks for the help!! =)

Turns out you're not the only one... see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1064823
They did not have any solutions that worked for them either though. Sorry.
Yes, a few people had this problem as well, but nobody said if they got to fix it or if it stopped.
The most annoying thing: I went back to 2.1 stock rom because i thought it would stop, when i installed it was ok but after a few hours that i'm using the rom the problem started again.
This really sucks. I will never buy any motorola products no more.
Anyway, thanks for your help. It's really good to have helpful people on this forum.
Turning the airplane mode on will not disable your wifi... only the radio(antena).
The question is: does your radio works normally?

Yes, everything is working normally, only the wifi that won't turn off.
Ok... there are two free apps on the Market that might fiz your problem.
1) Wifi Fixer
2) FXR Wifi fix and Rescue
Try it and let us know.

I had already tried wifi fixer before, didn't work.
Tried FXR and didn't work as well! Honestly i'm giving up.
I will sell this phone as soon as i get the chance and i'm never gonna buy a motorola ever again! -__-'

Dont give up yet... have you tried flashing the GOT 2.2.1?
Try this and flash CM7 over it.

I tried CM7 and had the same problem. I think it might be a hardware problem because i tried everything. :/

Hi, I think the problem is coming from the ROM.
First you should wipe cach/data. I mean factory reset, then download a newly fresh Open Recoveries, and do the flash ROM again and place it into SD card (remember to delete the old one: Nandroid and Open recoveries folders and update.zip file). THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT.
Here is the link of CM7 ROm but very light. it si good for MS than ever:
http://www.mediafire.com/?hdymcqvueo8opm9
Below is the google apps package:
http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/GV5OSDAN/Gapps_CM7_new.zip_links (including Gtalk)
I use it and it works well.

Have you installed a wifi tether app? Mine did this on builds recently, I fixed it by uninstalling the app and flashing the build again. Hope this helps.

but, can you show step by step.?
He asked if you installed a wifi tether app? That is either a yes or a no.
He says if yes try to uninstall it ( which means uninstall a wifi tether app if you installed one) and reflash the rom. That would be um just reflashing the rom. To see if that fixes it.
If you say no to his did you install a wifi tether app then don't bother with his suggestion. That is what he is saying.

Albundy2010 is right, I think what chris said is already step by step. "uninstalling app" and reflashing the rom.. there's nothing more to it. You are flashing nightly roms, therefore you SHOULD know how to flash a new build *I really hope so!*

I have install the wifi tether app. then turn on WIFI, it like done continue scan points of wifi and my phone hang.
next uninstall wifi tether app, reflash the ROM. and now! Not better...
Use a root file explorer and check your available memory under \system. If your memory is too low when flashing a new ROM, bits and bobs associated with the kernel are not flashed resulting in wifi failing to initialize.
This happened to me before (had only 40KB) so I moved a couple of apps from \system to \data reflashed and problem solved.
With the size of the ROMs continuing to grow, this will be a problem with the limited storage on our N1's.
Why are you guys even installating a wifi tether app in anyways? The nexus one supports wifi tethering stock. I have not ran a stock rom in a while. Am I missing something here?

because ago, when i used ROM stock, my phone happen hang, some times
Bit of a puzzler, I can't work out or find anywhere or suggestions why this is happening
Running CM10.1 on a Samsung S3 i9305 LTE since I got it about 6 weeks go. Rooted and running CWM recovery with zero issues, runs CM10.1 perfectly
I thought I'd give other ROMs a try that offer more customization than CM10.1 and supports overclock kernels and JKay frameworks
Tried the following so far, all with the same results. They are all i9305 ROMs, with i9305 kernels. So no mis-flashing
LiquidSmooth
Ripper ROM
rXtreme
The Galaxy Project
Pandorium
Installed Pandorium first and very impressed with all its customization and installed perseus with jkay framework. Spent a while reinstalling my apps, contacts, sms backups, etc, etc while connected via the house wi-fi ... not a single issue
Disconnected the wifi, no data connection. hmmmm, tried everything, reinstalling APN settings, flashing different modems, nothing worked. So spent a2-3 hours stressing I had lost my IMEI and killed my data connection
Reinstalled CM10.1, everything back as normal. Data connection woring as before .... weird
Spent sometime flashing the above ROMs, each and every one exhibit the same issue. All flash perfectly and run from wifi quite happily. Not a single issue, disconnect wifi .... bang, no data connection. In fact totally lost it, no apn data, nothing
Reinstall CM10.1 between each flash, everything working perfectly. data connection back
Between each flash, factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache
Each ROM installed perfectly and booted perfectly, BUT I lost my data connection each and everytime ..... until I reflash CM10.1 ad then it all works perfectly normally
Any suggestion would be gratefully appreciated why I lose my data connection when flashing anything BUT CM10.1
This is the wrong thread buddy!!! Use search before you ask something.

Q&A...
Solution
I've had the same problem for quite some time and thought it was because of the roms i flashed, though through searching for a while i found that it was a simple setting.
There is an app called Twekker that provides you with the APN settings you need and how to apply them to your phone. Install it and follow the instructions. The same instant i pressed save settings i got a stable 4g data connection.
I know it's and old thread, but it showed as top result for me on google. I hope this is helpful for someone.
I found a solution on youtube. You just boot into recovery and flash 2 modem zipped files. It will restore your imei and you will get your data connection back. Im not at home to give you the link but email me at missing shotgun @hotmail.com and ill send you the link.

Because I'm not allowed to post to the appropriate thread in the developer forum, here my experiences with the latest CM-10.2 from August, 27th 2013 by C-o-M:
Upgraded device GT-P3700 from Android 3.1 Honeycomb (maybe some new user finds these instructions useful):
1) Rooted device by applying root-original.zip using stock recovery.
2) Applied latest code.google.com/p/tab89cm/downloads/detail?name=Clockwork_Recovery_6.0.2.7_GT-P7300.zip&can=2&q=" using stock recovery.
3) Wiped cache, data partition, cleared, dalvik cache, ran factory reset using CWM.
4) Applied CM-10.2 and appropriate gapps-jb-mr2-noneon-20130824-signed.zip using CWM.
First, I noticed a minor thing: The cyanogenmod boot animation is a bit strange though; it seems broken the first few moments, that is there seems to be a wrong display mode set that distorts the image, or maybe the orientation is wrong. Whatever, it does no harm to general functionality and the screen restores itself shortly before the home screen is being loaded, and shows the correct logo animation.
So far, everything works fine except GPS (apart from HDMI out which I can't even test). I can use fdroid now which crashed on stock. And everything is very smooth and snappy now. I've tested WLAN and bluetooth, no 3g so far (but other user reports claim it works fine).
It would be nice if the GPS could be made to work. I'd like to use the tablet as an offline navigation system sometimes. GPS is reported to be enabled, but no satellites are found.
Otherwise great job, thanks a lot!

I don't think there's any risk of bricking while flashing this rom. Just make a nandroid if you are worried, and restore it if the bugs aren't worth it. If you are going back to ics, you will have to move all the files from /sdcard/0 to /sdcard, but that's easy enough. Going back to any 4.2.x rom is no hassle at all.
Other than HDMI, is there any other issues with this rom?
Saw some people have problem with APN...with on/off the aeroplane mode will solve it i think..

No calls
Everything seems fine except I can't make or receive calls (GT-P7300)
As soon as I can press Call it hangs up. Can't receive calls either.
Data over 3G is fine, and I can send/receive SMS messages no problem.
Grabbing output from logcat, everything seems fine except for this:

Which is the only error I see. I'm not trying to use Bluetooth (it's turned off).
Anyone else with this issue?

-when open setting>interface>quick setting panel>tyle & layout..
then press "back", its FC & written "unfortunately, setting has stopped"
-call in & out is not functioning.. does we need to do someting to make it work? (Like installing modem on ics rom before)

I've finally figured out how to get the calls working on my GT-P7300 / P5.
I used the latest 10.2 from C-o-M, called cm-10.2-20130912-UNOFFICIAL-P5.zip, installed it under CWM 5.5, rebooted (no flushing of cache). Let it upgrade the apps (let it take me through the latest register for Cyanogenmod stuff as well). SMS and data working, still no calls though.
Found this forum post.
I downloaded the file called CWM_I9103XXLQ3_Modem.zip and installed it under CWM 5.5 again. Rebooted (again no flushing of cache) - and it works!
That forum post has ZIP files named after the baseband with "ENABLE VOICE CALL" on the end as well, and although I downloaded the one specific to my modem version (P7300XXLQ6) I didn't need to install it to get the calls working.
Hope the above makes sense and helps other people!

Thank you! I've just flash CM 10.2 and i found out that is the smoothest rom i've ever flash (Rom stock, 4.4.2 Nameless, Omni) . I also have an issue in making and receiving phone call . I'll try fix it

Everything works OK...
haven't tried gsm calls but i do not need this feature.
Anybody with "Screen is on while Sleep" problem try "com.afilon.sleepbutton" app from Play-store to put your tab to sleep
So I rooted fine, installed SS fine, and even got x-note installed on a rom slot. So good news there!
However, whenever I install knoxraid or azure, the wi-fi will freeze. I can't turn it on or off. However, when I first flash the roms, the wi-fi is on and will even allow me to attempt to enter a password for my wi-fi...
Then nothing. It freezes, and will remain grayed out when I restart the phone. I've tried searching all the forums and I haven't found anyone with the same problem. Could it be a problem with my modem...?
Anyway, thanks for the help guys!
I have no issues running xnote rom.i was running knoxb and didn't have issues neither. Maybe bad flash

I re-downloaded both roms twice, reflashed both mutliple times, installed in different rom slots, and deleted and reinstalled rom partition. Still no wi-fi...

I had the same issue with flashing. I'm a pro at this. I do all my wipes and I'm generally a good troubleshooter. I think it's a combination of various things that we've done with our devices because not everybody experiences the same things. I did flash Incursor in the stock slot and it's running beautifully. I have had zero luck in flashing on the rom slots. Wifi is always broken.

I've already done many system wipes... still nothing. I'll try installing over the stock slot and see how that works!
I installed over the stock rom slot (after making a backup of course), and the wifi connected. However, I restarted the phone and wifi now will not turn on again. So back to square one.. I've even tried reinstalling safestrap again, along with different versions. Still no wifi!
Edit: I do have wifi on my stock rom. Could it be something with the baseband?
any solutions to this? i tried Dynamic rom (1.2.1) and wifi doesn't work in either a custom rom slot or stock rom slot. at first boot it will turn on after trying for a while, and even let me connect. then after a reboot its off and can't get past the "turning on" screen...
however, xnote works fine with wifi turning on just like stock...but i'm having issues with gear notifications on xnote and want to try Dynamic...
