Google found thread with this name ([REQ]amazonmp3.apk from HTC 1.32.405.6 WWE Stock ROM) on this forum, but link is dead, so I would like to share this app. It is usefull for OTA Desire HD update, becouse update checking system data.
I pasted this back into /system/app/ and rebooted but it doesn't seem to be back on the menu? Are there any other steps required? (Desire HD, stock rom)

Yes actually, it was the only thing I could of. Changed them to match the other apks in the directory, rw_r_r.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

Hello
Some1 made Q-thread about fancy Sense LWP like bootanimation. I was wondering how to extract images from LWP apk. Uncle Google didn't helped . I think it's impossible to get those images from apk. But in some way I get full animation It will be my sweet mystery how I do that. It was quite simple but sneaky.
I've made few versions. The clear one is most smooth coz I could resize images and stretch them in phone without losing sharpness. Also I couldn't make it as slow as LWP because of smooth but it still looks great IMO. You can try to change fps value. So, after long hours of work here it is:
(of course it's moving like original LWP)

Whoa! Can you convert the animation to a working live wallpaper? Like the one that comes with HTC Sense, which doesnt work on other phones?
That would be great!!
I made mistake. It's for wvga not for hvga. I'll add version for hvga tomorrow. Sorry...

Noob to the Evo here... What's the easiest way to change my boot animation? I had a Vibrant before this and it was simple...

Just rename file to bootanimation.zip and push it to data/local. There should be old bootanimation and you have to replace it. If there isn't you can try to search it in system/media or system/customize/resource.
you can push it via adb, android commander or with some explorer with access to root.

To cypis: Please friend, could you also make a live wallpaper for our phones?
HVGA & WVGA are available now to download. Enjoy.
And where? In the first post there are only the pictures, no live wallpaper
And cant find a bootanimation with 800x480, either.

Sorry for previous quote. I thought that he's talking about bootanimation.
I didn't agree to do live wallpaper. I don't have time right now I don't have skills to do this. Don't ask about it. This is a thread about boot animation.
If I'll made it you'll hear about it. 480x800 = wvga

You should have root access option in esfile explorer settings.

Put your new bootanimation.zip into /data/local and it should take this one when booting.

Hey fellow 4X HD owners
I have a question regarding the bootanimation:
The change of the bootanimation itself is easy,
but it seems that there is another "animation" (actually just lg logo)
in front of it; is this kernel related or can we change it?
And related to the shutdownanimation:
The zip of the shutdownanimation in system/media is obvious,
but can I remove it or do I have to replace it?
PS: D4's bootanimation app installs the bootanimation to data/local,
why does the android system search for it in there on ICS?
(I know it's been there n GB 2.4.5 or something)
Greetings and thank you all
Marius
nice to know this
and how can i change it .. because i dont have permission to copy other bootanimations to the system/media folder..
pls help
You need root and then you can replace it either manually or through a various number of apps

since then i cant find the "htc people widget" someone know why? and how i can restore it?
Unless the Viperone ROM uses Sense, it won't be there.

It's not included in that rom. If you want to use it you can pull it from another rom or here:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36946918/HtcContactWidgets.apk
Then put it in the /system/apps folder and change the permissions to match the other apks in the folder. Reboot and should be available to add as a widget.
How can i change the permission?

You can use ES File Explorer or Root Explorer.
Here is a video of how to do it on ES:
