I do love it bt I noticed tat when I press the menu button on my fon(Samsung Galaxy SL) to show the options of the widget locker in the lockscreen( add, settings, notifications, refresh themes) I cannot press the back button to close it. Instead I nid to tab on other place of the screen to close it.
Tat dint happen b4 when I 1st installed it. I tried uninstall and install bt its the same. However, when I ran widget locker in my apps drawer suprisingly Im able to close the options menu of widget locker in my lockscreen with the back button of my fon...

Hello everyone -
I'm looking for a transparent lockscreen solution for my cappy. There's a thread about doing this for the Hero/Eris, but it requires a Sense odex. (tried to post URL but I'm not allowed as new user...)
My ideal lockscreen is transparent over the default home screen, so I can still see my standard clock and other home screen widgets. I've tried Widget Locker but I don't like it.
Any help or suggestions?

Could probably modify android.policy to remove lock screen entirely, lol. It's probably a ton more work to enable a sense-style lock.
Or install nolock and adjust your screen timeout to a low number. Pressing the power button would then go straight to your homescreen with full functionality and pressing it again would just turn the screen off.
Hello,
I am new to this whole rooting Nook color thing. I recently rooted mine and have been enjoying the new abilities, but I cant seem to add shortcuts to the "desktop" or home screen and can't add widgets. I searched around for a little bit but didn't really see anything listed about this..
Thanks guys
Long-press (hold) on the home screen. A window to "Add" will pop up. Tap on Widgets and enjpy

Thats what I tried, because I am used to using Android for my phone. But the only options that come up are "Clean up this panel" and "Change Wallpaper".
Not sure why I would have different options than you?
What launcher are u using? Also long press should do it!

Just the stock one. I rooted it but didn't know I had to change the launcher. I am not even sure how to do that >_> haha
Go to Market and download a launcher. Zeam, ADW and Launcher Pro seem to be the most popular. I think Market is under Extras.
edit: I use ADW but they are all similar.
Also if you want examples of how to spice up your homescreen, check out the screen shot thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=860404
Most of them include which widgets they are using.
Thanks I downloaded Zeam and its working great!
So I have rooted and autonootererered. I have Zeam launcher up and running. No issues.
However, when I long press and try to add a shortcut, it just jumps back to the screen. Nothing happens. I can however add icons to desktop through app list by long pressing.
Also, I would much prefer Launcher Pro as I already paid for it for my EVO. However, I cannot seem to change the icons (phone icon, etc) Want to use it for widget purposes, but dont want inactive icons such as phone and contacts sitting on the dock...
Is there a workaround for this?
These are known issues. There are multiple options that can be found by searching the forum.
1. open the app drawer press and hold on the app you want an icon on the homescreen. you will be able to drag it to the homescreen
2. edit your launcher pro settings on your phone, back up and restore on your nook. (search the forum, i think someone has a blank backup or something.
How do we enable wallpaper scrolling in darkys rom?
Thx
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Does this need a whole new thread?
Just sayin.
on your homescreen press the menu button select preferences, the option is in there somewhere
It is not Darky's ROM dependant. It sholud be configured in the launcher options. If you are using launcher pro, there is a setting called Scrolling wallpaper that you must to disable. Menu>Preferences>Appearence Settings. Here you must NOT MARK "Disable Wallpaper scrolling".
If helped, give thanks
Im using TouchWiz with Darky's 9.2 and it wont let the wallpapers scroll. And theres no preferences in the settings menu with touchwiz. Any other way around this?
Thx
change launchers
Touchwiz is the stock launcher in Samsung, isn't it? As I remember the default wallpaper scrolls. Also I remember had changed this setting, but I don't remember , but I did!
Yes it scrolls for all the other launchers and yes it scrolls for wallpapers that you directly set from say filkie wallpapers app. But the Touchwiz launcher which comes with darky's rom 9.2 will not let me set a normal sized wallpaper(which scrolls), it only lets u crop the selected wallpaper in a way where after u do it, it wont scroll. Im not sayin its Darky's rom prob, but I just cant seem to find any setting which changes it to scrollable.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 rooted with towelroot and running stock rom kitkat 4.4.2
I have installed Apex Launcher Pro
- there is nolonger the option at the top of the screen to show widgets and add them to the phone
- to get to the widgets you have to goto apps and then scroll all the way to the right past the installed apps
- then there is only the preinstalled widgets and no option to add / install widgets
My question is how do I install / add widgets to the phone
TIA :good:
ok just incase someone else wants to know
I worked out how to choose widgets
tap and hold down on a blank part of the home screen then select widgets and choose your widget
to resize a widget tap and hold down on the widget and select resize
to remove a widget tap and hold down on the widget and select remove
still trying to workout how to add widgets to the choose your widget section
worked out how to add widgets
- go to google play webstie and type in "widgets for android"
- gives you a list of widgets both paid and free
- install the widget you want and they will be installed to your phone
- next I removed the widgets icons from the home screen as they are on the apps screen if you want to change their settings
- as above goto install your widget and you will see your new widgets listed to choose for your home screen
hope this helps someone else
