CM7 Drain Battary 1% every 5 min? Help - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

CM7 Drain Battery 1% every 5 min?
my first time installing, i love the rom 7.0.3 stable but the drainage is crazy, any tips or recommended kernels.
with wifi on with wotts app in the background am draining 1% every 5 min
after calling for 1hr 20 30% battery is drained
any tips would be appreciated
thanks

I would go in settings -> CyanogenMod settings -> performance -> ok -> CPU settings and make sure that Min CPU frequency is relatively low. The other thing I can suggest is to look into SS4N1.

Open up Settings -> About Phone -> Battery Use and click on the graph. Now compare "Awake" to "Screen On". If "Awake" has much more blue than "Screen On" then you have a background process not letting your phone sleep and draining the battery. I have this same issue.
Check out BetterBatteryStats, it'll help you find out what is exactly draining your battery.

How does this work . I mean after i know which processes are using up the battery how to I deal with them later??

I'd you find a rogue app then remove it and look for an alternative

[Q] Battery usage issue: battery cronology and force close

Hi, i have an issue about battery drain here in froyo with official rom and speedmod kernel.
I notice a 4% per hour in stand-by drain.
If i check with *#*#4636#*#*, under "battery cronology", watching network usage i find something strange...
the most used application , more than email and everything else, is called "0".
When i try to click on it, watching details, i have a force close.
Is there something i can do ? i wouldn't wipe all data to check if i resolve...
Thank you
The same for me.
I have a big battery draining when the phone is on stand-by. For example this last night, i fully charged it, and in 12 hours the battery drained a 10% without using it, with juicedefender installed and configured to auto on 1 minute every 15.
I think that i dont have the gallery sensor issue, but my battery drains more than i think is normal, and i have the "0" under network usage, and get force close when clicking it.
It's the same for me as well..anyone knows what the '0' is??
I'm on JPA build.
same thing happen to me.........try to off your data plan and it will save lots of your battery juice.........unless u are really checking email on your phone of course this doesnt help!!
is it normal to lose 20% charge in standby within 4 hours? i have almost everything off and it still drain my battery like crazy. Sync is off, data is off, wifi policy is sleep when screen is off, gps off, bluetooth off. Anything you name it i have it off. I have "spare part" installed and looking a the stats i don't see anything else eating the battery life. Only thing i see under other usage. is "Running (33.9%)", "Screen on (9.3%), "Wifi on (100%)" "wifi running (61%). Could it be the wifi on at 100% eating my battery?
same problem here
if data is ON overnight, battery drain is very high, like 20% in a few hours (5-6h).
if data is OFF, battery drain is almost 0 (zero)
in iphone 4 when my data was ON overnight with 3G and PUSH turned ON, battery drain was somelike like 3 or 4%.
Something is terribly wrong.

Drain while standby

my note is draning 1 percent every 10 minutes
when in standby
after downloading cpu spy i discovered that deep sleep was 1% and 200MHZ was 84%
it has something to do with it?
also in battery usage
android os is 57%
any fix?
by the way
im running ics stunner rom
The Note's battery is a POS... If you want to partially solve it you'll have to keep both wifi and data off.
i kind of found a way now deep sleep is on
but what do you mean POS
Have you changed anything in the last days? Installed any suspicious apps, or changed any settings?
If you found the problem now, then maybe you can also calibrate your battery just in case it "lost" some performance. To be sure!
Use Battery calibration or wipe Battery stats in Recovery, Anvanced menu (after you fully charged your device).

Mediaserver drain

Anybody have problems with Mediaserver draining battery? The drain is at about 23% (kept awake 2h 30m) and I haven't listened to music on my Galaxy at all. The "keep awake" (and the drain) seems to increase only when I keep my screen on. I can see this by refreshing the battery stats every 5 seconds.
What should I do?
Running Slim ICS 3.8 with default kernel
Use Bettery Battery Stats (search in this forum, it's free for XDAers) to drill down the application that causes this.

BIg battery problem

HI to all,
i have a big battery problem with my p880,since i put some custom roms 4.4 on my phone i have huge drain of the battery.
1.I tried several roms and i had the same problem every time,my battery loses 1 percent per minute.
2.Sync and location are off.Brightness is on 20%.
3.i installed juice defender and deep sleep battery saver,i put the apps in hibernation using greenify.
Whatever i do,the battery literally melts down,i am not exagerating literally its 1 percent per minute.

lower the cpu speed to around 640 mhz or so. it works like a charm (in my slimbean p880) and i get screen on times like 4h30m. also install pimpmyrom and tweak it to lower battery consumption
If only there were a way to make logs of what drains battery...
Oh!..wait a minute...
BetterBatteryStats -> Kernel Wakelocks

Terrible battery drain cause by "video2" kernel wakelock

I'm hoping someone can assist me. I can't seem to find much information regarding the "video2" kernel wakelock.
I just charged my phone to 100% over night. I have only used it for about 19 minutes and the battery is at 75%.
I am rooted, on the latest OOS - stock; running xposed and magisk (latest versions)
I have forcedoze and leandroid running and I also use wakeblock to limit some wakelocks.
I use an app called WLD (Wakelock Detector) - to show me what wakelocks are being used and I see one in particular that is "video2". What could this be?
video2 shows 3h 28m x1244 in WLD
PowerManagerService.WakeLocks shows 6m 20s x407
All the other kernel wakelocks are under 1m
leandroid should be turning off my network settings when the screen is off, and only turning it on hourly for 60 seconds to get the occassional notifications if there are any and then turn off again.
I am normally connected to WiFi and my location services (GPS) is turned on as well, but as I mentioned, when it's not in use leandroid should be powering them off.
I'm trying to figure out what is using up over 25% of my battery only after 19 mins of use. When I go into settings to look at the battery I see the following:
Screen Usage since full charge - 19m
Android system - 4%
Phone Idle - 2%
Android OS - 2%
Cell standby - 1%
Screen 1%

Thanks for the response, I exported all the logs from BBS. I ended up charging my phone to 100% again and then just left it doze for a bit and once again it eats through the battery idle.
I hope these logs help.
I am uploading screenshots from my phones battery and the BBS screens.
I have left my phone idle since yesterday. SOT is only 3 mins and I'm down to 61%. I would really appreciate any help I can get.
Well, I assume for those who had a look over this thread, you were as baffled by this issue as I initially was.
After a lot of trial and error, I believe I resolved my issue. To help others (in case other users run into a similar issue as I), I will write up a detailed summary of what I did to fix the issue and the apps I used. For now a quick summary.
I would like to bring up an interesting fact, and I'm not sure if my scenario is just an anomaly, but it turned out that the reason I was having this issue is because of having "doze mode" enabled in the developer menu. Apparently this setting conflicted with the battery saving apps I run such as forcedoze and leandroid.
If you use custom apps to save battery, make sure you disable force doze on your OP3T. I did a few other changes on my phone, but after disabling this option, I saw an immediate difference in my phone battery when it was idle and screen off. I only lost 1% battery in about 5 hours, whereas before it seemed less than 1 hour.
