Overscroll glow - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is their any way to select the colour of the overscroll effect in GB i.e select a colour from a spectrum of colours? No worries if not....just curious really thanks

Either modify it yourself, or look into themes. It can definitely be done.

In CM7 there is an app called theme chooser in that for different themes you will get different colors but if you are not on CM try this!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829
UOT the best theme modder around!!
i don't actually remember where the Overscroll option is.... but im quite sure that there is an option for overscroll effect infact you can mod every single icon of your Android theme!
MUST TRY!

You can use any one of the themes available here, and then use rom kitchen to modify the colour.

[THEME][4/3/11]Custom Icons, Settings and Boot Menu

I was inspired to further customize my phone and made my first set of icons. Be kind, this is my first attempt, I wanted the menu on my phone to have the same look and feel of the SuperDark/NitroDark/NitroComb themes, which I love. Thanks to thatdudebutch and nitroglycerine33 for the inspiration and everyone else who themes.
I did not make the images from scratch, I took the images right out of the framework and photoshop'd down to greyscale to try and start with a nice even baseline then added in color in with blue glow to mimic the glow of NitroHoneyComb. Let me know what you think. I don't know how to make a flashable zip yet, but I will share the .png files with anyone who wants them. A zip is now available for download if you like. THIS ZIP IS NOT FLASHABLE YET. IT CONTAINS THE PNG FILES ONLY. I'm working on making a flashable version soon.
Added new icons for boot menu, and matching set for the settings menu also. Still NOT flashable yet, png files only.

New modified icon set for the settings menu, I pulled the raw images from here (http://gnome-look.org) and added the colors and effects to match the theme Glowing Blue by Gunnermike, these are preinstalled in his theme. Check his great looking theme here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1022278). If you like them or have suggestions for the next set let me know.

just so those forum browsing can get a better idea of what you did, you might want to say "settings icons" instead of menu icons

Good point, thanks, I updated the title.
Cool icons, definetly go well with dark revenge... I take this opportunity to ask my noob question: how does one go about replacing menu icons with custom ones?

There are a number of them within framework-res.apk in res/drawable-hdpi folder that can be changed out. But some apps will pull images from their own apk's and others will pull from the framework. So when using a particular app you might find that 2 of the 6 menu icons are themed the way you want unless you hunt down each one from all of the various apk's. Check nitsuj17's sticky on how to go about swapping images in an apk.
good day.
Thanks for the quick reply, and pointing me in the right direction, sounds like I have some reading to do.

Awsome icons I have been looking for menu settings icons to match the theme that I am currently porting. These are almost perfect as you can see they match the exsisting pop up menu settings icons already in the theme...Great Job!

[Req] CM7 Theme Chooser Multicolored GingerSense

i recently stumbled upon some flashable zips that change the framework for sense roms to look like a mix of the sense notification bar with the gingerbread stock battery and data icons, in multiple colors. i really liked how these themes looked but unfortunately they aren't for cm7. i get tired of the basic flat black notification bar with a colored icon on it, so i think these would be a refreshing change.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13470333&postcount=2
heres the link im talking about. are there any themers/devs that would be interested in porting some of these to cm7's themechooser?
There is already one for theme chooser & its better than the ones you've mentioned. That themes name is iNexus and iNexus Matte. Look in the android theme section

I think I've missed something. Are these themes just gingerbread with coloured battery and signal icons? Surely there are plenty of themes that are recoloured gingerbread ie cyanbread, purpbread, matted blues etc or is there more to these themes you link to that I'm not seeing?

there are plenty of just recolored gingerbread themes, but none that have a non black notification bar, thats really the only difference. gingerbread is a plain black bar, sense is a gray bar. its like the mattedblues theme, its a gray bar with colored gingerbread icons and a battery percent mod. Just looking for something thats not plain black and allows for more color options than just blue.
I see, have you tried the UOT kitchen?

Twframeworks.apk is just the main parts for the phone nothing to do with the launcher. Every rom except AOSP and MIUI have it, its in the frameworks folder next to frameworks.apk. It baisically has wat you need to mdify anything you notification screen can do. Like the call options when ur on the home screen o music player when ur on the homescreen, aswell as the main tabs like wifi, bluetooth, gps and 4g option on the top. Well wat you need here is pass wat u modified in frameworks.apk and jut copy all the images that have the same name and xml in the drawable folder.

[CM7 Theme][WIP]Unnamed Theme[Need comments]

Hi guys. This is my first shot at theming. My goal for this theme is to create a colorful yet minimalistic look with the ICS feel/layout. Most of the icons will be directly from ICS dump itself but I'll be editing the colours and hand-edit some images from ICS using GIMP. I will not be finishing up the theme so soon mainly due to major exams but I'll be doing some theming in between studying lol and when I feel that it's the right time to release it, I will.
I've only themed several elements so far:
- Scratched Statusbar (slight transparency)
- Wifi
- Signal
- Battery
- Airplane icon on statusbar
- Notifications pulldown
To do next:
- the rest of the status bar icons (gps, bluetooth etc)
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Yeah I forgot. HDPI only.
2nd Update 12/11/11
- clear notifications button is now a nicer trash can (as compared to stock cm7)
- toggle power button selection color is now cyanish-blue
- notification pressed is now blue
Update: 12/11/11
- notifications pull down got a facelift
- changed statusbar icons to not-too-fanciful-but-still-colorful icons
- font colors on status bar and notifications pulldown gets a more brighter cyanish-blue color instead of the darker ICS blue.
- notification panel icon background added. colorful!
I'm considering doing up an icon set as well. Here's a preview.
im first on this one? Looks sick!

Yeah, that's on my to do list next. Don't expect a release so soon though.
Sad "HDPI only"
But it looks good.
i'm all over this theme if you reconsider the HDPI Only part. MDPI gets ignored way too often.
ps. this theme looks sick. nice job!
Change the battery and I'm in. Looks like a good start
I'll consider the possibility of MDPI after my exams. Take note that the majority of what you see, especially the application icons are from LunarUI. I might consider using R3D X's icons in my theme but of course I'll have to ask him first. I'll mainly theme the UI elements (eg Pop up windows, sliders, menus etc).
I've already got an idea for the colours for the battery but no time to execute my idea just yet lol.
Nice theme. RAINBOW for the name? Sorry for my english.

Does changing theme affect the notification dropdown?

It's been on my mind for the last few day. You see, I use nitrogen resurrection rom which came with theme chooser. Right now I change the theme to Ice9 theme with theme chooser. Everything looks wonderful except the notification dropdown. It looks different from the one in the screenshot of the theme. I hate the one that come with the rom so I really want to change it badly. Is the theme supposed to change the notification dropdown but somehow my phone isn't affected? or maybe it doesn't work like that?
If the theme is supposed to changed my notification dropdown, what should I do so that the change is effective?
Thank you for your attention, whether you answer me or not. Any help will be fully appreciated.

The notification dropdown should change when you apply a new theme using Theme Chooser (if the theme that you apply change it, normally all of them)...try applying other theme
Yeah that answers the question
