Hey guys,
So, I am using the LG P990 2x on Cyanogenmod nightly build number 149. I am trying to see what your battery usage is like for all of you and what you do/did to get a high power drain or low power drain. The screenshot was taken at 1% battery remaining and I have also included the list of apps I have installed (will include it shortly).
Can you post yours? Maybe some of us can diagnose why the battery drain is so high.

My friend uses optimus 2x and it cant handle much, charged it for once... what about simply posting
Wifi
Display time on,brightness, auto rotation
Wifi/data time on... A lot of lg bloatware i saw on it. And it will be deleted soon.
2 hours display on, no heavy games or something, not much browsing,
Took 50 % battery.

Right. I will post that. I'm at 9 hours usage on my phone, without it being fully charged and my battery is still at 72& with me using the phone I regularly would. v10e firmware. I will post the screens you want.
Ok, on v10E ROM with the same usage (wifi keep alive on all the time) I got 1 day and 3 hours out of it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to provide a screenshot as the v10E gave me a SOD and I had to take out the battery and restart. Maybe spart parts would show me the last battery time.
Useing it only as phone. Wifi for 15 min. and around 1 hour of calls. No games etc

Hello,
I am new on this forum and in the Android developper community, and here is my first application:
aLauncher is a launcher widget for applications, contacts, bookmarks and playlists.
I came with the idea of this application when I realized, after using my phone for a while, that I was out of space on my home and that my Application Tab was a real mess. I then decided to create a Widget that would allow to sort conveniently my stuff without losing time to find and launch an application from an overcrowded list.
Also, I wanted to be able to gather in the same place applications, contacts, bookmarks and playlists that belong to the same "realm" (my often used applications and contacts for work in one place, my favorite games and music in another...).
aLauncher is a widget to address this.
It displays 4 icons in a row on the home screen, each one giving access to a fully customizable launcher (default to: Phone & office, Internet & Navigation, Games and Others).
Each Launchers comes as a screen with 3 tabs. Each tab has 16 free spots where you can freely add application shortcuts, contacts, bookmarks or playlists and move them around (so to say, a Launcher has the look'n'feel of the application tab, but behaves like the home screen).
It also supports gestures: you can tilt your phone to navigate through tabs.
Here are a few screenshots: widget on home, opened launcher and dialog for adding an application (as you can see, it supports English and French locales):

}
2 versions are available on the Market:
aLauncher Free is free but the number of shortcuts is limited
aLauncher is full and comes for 1,39€ (currently $1.99)
I'm waiting for your comments and suggestions!
ps: a few early users from a previously released beta experienced crashes, this is now solved!
Hi puppetdroid
just a suggestion , on your first picture {left} it shows the music symbol listed for games. I suggest you change the Icon to a more game type icon.
Also , Have you got them Pictures but all of the text is in English??
Thanks!

Yes, I agree for embedded icons: I wanted to use only built-in icons from Android but none is good for games. Anyway, it is customizable: you can change name and icon at will
About text, default text is in English or French depending on your locale, and labels can be edited freely!
The start of my LauncherPro collection. I will take icon requests within reason, however I need the app on my phone to update a .xml, so paid apps may be a problem.

Thanks, glad you like. I updated the OP with some cyan icon screens. Suggestions for icons to theme or for improvements to existing icons are welcome.

Thanks. I'll look into the list next time I sit down to do icon updates. If any of those are paid apps, I may need help getting the stock icon to work with and getting activity names. Will pm you if needed.
Edit: I need to update my screenshots too.....
Purple icon pack added.
Green_Black icons pack added to the market, screens added to the op. I'm in the process of renaming the other icon packs and doing some more polishing on existing icons.
Hey man, great work! Love what you doing to spruce up the LPP. I dusted off this launcher once I started seeing that themes were being utilized. My favorite icon is the superuser, way to rock it old school.
I opened my app drawer today to find you covered just about every app with that last update. Might as well add a few to that request list (at your leisure of course):
Bank of America
Gscript
Widget Locker
Wired Tether
Zedge
Thanks again Dont Panic!
Pink_Black icons added to the market.
@Nandrew: Added to the list. Thanks.
Added Blue_Purple Icons to the market.
Is it possible to have the battery meters in the phone be more accurate than every 10%, or are all Motorola phones display battery levels for every 10% (except for 15% and 5%)
when i feel that my cell battery is running low and i need to step out i just simply plug in the charger, power off then power back on. Phone instantly jumps 30% or so.
I use Battery Indicator from the market. It is a status bar icon, not a widget (which I like better since it can be seen from every screen, including the lock screen) and the 1% increments work perfectly on the D4. The free version is just a black and white icon but the pro version can be skinned.

I will try this battery app. Its annoying to see the 10% incremental change. Its hard to recognize which app is consuming what.
Thanks

I've been using Battery Circle since the day the Droid 3 was released.
are there any apps that replace the battery icon?
The information on how the D4 indicates battery charge is here: http://code.google.com/p/battery-indicator/wiki/OnePercentHack
I checked it, and the indicated file does indeed work to show 1% battery increments. I am considering making a widget for the D4 that shows the battery in 1% increments based on the content of that file. Would you all find that helpful?

I, for one, would be very interested in this.
Simple Battery Monitor Widget
I have tried a few apps from the market, but although a few support the Motorola 1% trick, they seem like overkill to me, and for something so simple, I don't really want to pay for it. All I want is a very simple widget that shows 1% increments.
Here's what I have in mind:
Also, I am looking in to a way to provide a service through the app that will broadcast 1% increments through the Android system. It may require root, it may not even be possible, but if I can do it, it would mean all apps would receive the 1% increments as long as the app is installed.
Either way, the project will end up hosted on GitHub under the GPL. If anyone is interested in helping out, I'll put it up on GitHub ASAP and we can work together on it.
Ideas for other features:
Add toggles for Wifi, Network Mode, Screen Brightness, Bluetooth in the App; instead of using built-in themes, make some kind of simple "theme file" so that it is easy to make new themes; add an optional notification in the drop-down; ICS support.
I'm using Gauge Battery Widget. It supports 1% reporting in
- status bar icons
- charts
- widgets
More details about app at http://www.gaugebatterywidget.com, you can download it from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hubalek.android.gaugebattwidget.pro
There is an app in the market called " moto charge" that will read 1% on stock rom. It Does not work on asop or ics roms.
Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk
The app "Minimalistic Text" also displays individual percentages, it's just a widget so it doesn't display in the notification bar but it was the first app I found to display the exact percentage, and it's free.
This is my first post so I can't link to the page, sorry.
I use badass battery monitor and it shows by 1%

with titanium backup, you can download it from play store.

not seem to affect performance but increases battery life
someone else can check?

This would be true if that post's OP had kept tabs of the various solutions found in the first post(s). The way it is, if you want to learn new methods, you have to read the entire thing and hope you don't miss something. To be exact, the only thing we need is someone who volunteers to gather the useful suggestions in there.
Although I still think it helps to have a specific thread for info gathering about battery solutions, as it would (hopefully) limit suggestions like "freeze/uninstall some stock apps", that add nothing to who's trying to follow the suggestions.
Removing com.lge.internal will **** up everything...

You have 2 solutions :
1/ Just put in Battery settings / Application Chrome "Not allow background data" for close Chrome quickly when minimized and not keep Chrome in background.
2/ Simply use the Chrome fork "Kiwi Browser', it's a Chrome fork enhanced :
- You can install extensions like a Chrome PC version (yes "Block Origin" baby)
- You can choose to close automatically Tabs / Browser when minimized or use "Quit"
- You can choose just a single home page at starting (like Chrome PC Version)
- You can apply a Dark Theme
I have tested Chrome 99.0 version and Firefox 98.3 on my Pixel 4a running Android 10 and found that for speed Chome is better, its faster than Firefox. But for battery life Firefox is better, Chrome drains almost double the battery used by Firefox. I will be personally using Firefox from now on. Its not slow by any means, its super fast, but its just that Chrome is even faster. I prefer less battery drain.
As you can see from my screenshots below, Chrome used for 1hr 3mins drains 5% whereas Firefox used for 2hr 5mins drains only 3%. Its not scientific test by any means, but I used both in the same manner.

- Firefox is open source
- Firefox or another browser like Brave are not linked with GMS/Google services from your phone.
- Firefox grant extension, so you can reduce drain by installing *Block Origin" for clean / light browsing usage data.
- Finally Firefox is the latest braowser not depending Chomium, Firefox is based on Gecko.
Yes there a lot of advantages to using Firefox, also for this reasons.
