So does anyone know if there would be a way to change the annoying mount points for the internal sdcard and the external
as of right now this is there mount points
internal /sdcard
external /sdcard-ext
I want to swap this two around. Almost all apps are designed to write backups and so forth to /sdcard. I just recently installed a deodexed rom and lost all my app backups, not a huge deal but will become rather annoying to have to switch my backup folders back and forth everytime we flash a rom.
Is this possible?
It's already been discussed

menu, settings, storage, storage location, sdcard.
that works

I've had the Captivate for a couple of months now and am on xda reading everyday (my wife says I'm obsessed) -- I have yet to find the cause/solution for my problem. I've searched and found similar topics, but I'm not sure if they really apply to my issue.
This problem has followed me to a couple of different ROMs. I started with stock Eclair, Serendipity 5.xx, Cognition 4.1, stock Froyo, and then back to Cognition 4.1.1. I don't recall exactly when the issue started, but I think it was around Cog4.1/stock Froyo.
In Android, I can see it just fine as /sdcard/external_SD (normally use Linda manager). I can copy/move files to/from without any issues. If I plug the phone into the computer, I can access both internal and external SD cards with no problems.
Anyway, CWM 2.5.1.3 -Voodoo Lagfix will not see/mount my external SD card. Attempting to mount /sd-ext produces the error:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p2 (*NOTE: I've seen posts with this message, but under slightly different circumstances)
(File Exists)
Error mounting SDEXT:!
If, however, I go to "choose zip from sdcard" and then navigate to "external_SD" it will "go" -- however this is **NOT** my external SD card, it appears to be a separate partition. My actual external SD has lots of folders and files, but the CWM "external_SD" has two files that I copied to it attempting to troubleshoot the issue.
A few minutes ago, within Android, I found that if I unmount my external SD, when I navigate to "external_SD", I don't see the files on my true external SD (as expected), but instead I see the partition with my two test files.
I apologize for this lengthy post, but I am at a loss and don't know what else to try. If this has been covered somewhere else, again, I apologize and would greatly appreciate pointing my in the right direction.
Thanks much!

how big is this partition?
**i think** somewhere along the road you clicked "partition sd card" in clockwork recovery.
use windows: Start> Administrative tools > "computer management" > "disk management" tree > edit/delete/expand/shrink partitions manually.
Checked partitions in Windows. The mystery "external_SD" wasn't a partition. it was a plain folder named external_SD (don't remember creating that folder, but probably did). I deleted the folder. I still get the same message in CWM.
When connected to the computer, the internal storage shows as FAT32, capacity 13.03GB (single partition); the external storage shows as FAT32, capacity 7.6GB (which is correct - also single partition).
Just for the record, this issue doesn't appear to be creating any stability or performance problems. I want to figure this out just because...
I appreciate the help thus far.

Anyone have any other ideas of how to get my external SD card to mount in CWM?

i have this trouble too on speedmod_k13c kernel.
i want to place and store all my roms and patches on external sd, but now I'm afraid to do it
maybe it's need to create folder with special name on internal SD (ext-sd for example), which will be point of mount.
unfortunately, CWM don't echo detailed information about error even

Flashing different ROMs can lead to this. It's always a good idea to remove your external SD when flashing.
Try dumping the contents of the card to your PC with a card adapter, then reformat using this:
http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/sd_formatter20.html
Use the FULL (ERASE ON) setting and leave FORMAT SIZE ADJUSTMENT off.
When you put the files back on, only put the data, don't put any system settings etc back on.
Ok -- I will try this when I get home tonight.
Thanks,

Hi!
There is a way on CM 10.1 /CM 10.2 to swap the external SD card to be seen as internal? The 11extsd2internalsd.txt is working on stock based roms, but not in CM and I can't find any solution for this. I don't want bind methods or swap images.
Edit:
FolderMount has the ability to mount folders which contains subfolders, like entire Android folder - you need to disable Destination folder checks. You can also mount entire partition, but you''ll loose the access to the internal sdcard and gallery will show duplicates as it thinks you have the identical data on both partitions.
Hello!
Is there any method to swap internal storage and external storage (map external SD as internal)?
I see some posts about it, but all links are broken.
I just tried to install Omars rom, but realize that cant see any way to increase 4G of internal memory. This is very little for me and i dont want to go back to my old rom with many bugs but with swapped int and ext storage.
Please tell me any way to do this, thanks!
Swap, I'm not sure but maybe Folder Mount?? You can mount most folders from ext to int memory and it runs really stable. Now I have more than 10GB mounted from ext memory to int and I can see no difference to regular install in int memory.
Is Folder Mount something like Directory Bind app? I used it, but it is boring to mount all the separate folders for all apps.
Is it possible to mount tho whole android/data directory?
Never tried this but it has this possibility.

I am not sure where to post or anything, new here. Rooted, unlocked bootloader, CWM flashed to AOSB latest for atrix hd. everything is great EXCEPT my internal storage is now half the size it was before. 8Gb does not equal 4.93Gb Not sleeping at all so I will be here all night
WHAT DO?
My assumption is you didn't format the internal sd when you went from stock to anything 4.2 and over. 4.2+ roms have support for multiple users and store the sd data in a slightly different location than 4.1 and earlier. Before stuff was stored at /data/media, with 4.2+ roms it's /data/media/0 for the first/default user. I had the same issue with my first 4.2 rom.
First, if necessary, backup any non app data from the internal sd (skip any app cache, just get important files like downloads, music, etc)*
Using Philz CWM, set the internal sd location to /data/media (it'll prompt for a reboot, do it)
Format the internal sd
set the internal sd location to /data/media/0 (do the reboot again)
Format the internal sd
Restore anything backed up
That's it.
I recommend using the internal sd as little as possible and sticking with the external sd as much as possible. It shares the same partition with apps and app data, so anything on the internal sd is less space for apps.
Unrelated, but technically we could us a 32GB sdcard for /data and the internal sd while using the actual /data partition as the external sd. It would just require a bit of fstab trickery and some init script editing....and be a bit slower when launching apps, but we'd have a heck of a lot more space....not sure if it could be done in a universal way or on a per rom basis.
Are there any ROMs or kernels for the G7 plus that's allow for functional adopted storage? I've tried stock and RR, and you can get it to format an SD card as internal if you install one with no partition table, but the file system will not hold "state". All media and files on the adopted storage become corrupted after reboot.
My advise is not to use this function anyway! The only advantage of adoptable storage is that apps can store their data on this storage device. But there are several disadvantages. Many users lost their data and/or have other problems.
Adoptable storage has worked perfectly for me on my G6+ for several years now. I regularly travel in countries where electronic searching is allowed both at airports and by law enforcement. There is no way I will keep data on a phone that cannot be encrypted
I haven't found a rom, but I have found a workaround. If your data is corrupting and being weird, u can unmount the sd card and then remount it and the adoptable storage will function normally for a while after that.
I've tried this, but same behaviors before. And data you put on the SD card will not hold state. It corrupts upon first reboot.
I found this out after a reboot or two but forgot to post an update. I have found that Apps2SD (https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apps2sd-partition-sd-card-link-apps-to-t3122919/)works great on these devices on all the ROMs I have used as long as it is rooted with Magisk. You have to manually set the su.d/post-fs-data.d/service.d path in app settings to /data/adb/service.d to get the mount script to work and use the format sd tool it comes with to split your sd card partitions into two separate fat32 and ext4 partitions. Anyway, there is more help in the thread later on the page count. Good luck!
