Well any way.
In my opinion. If you count by valve time it would be a TF 2 comparison.

Or rather Duke Nukem Forever time, they started the development in 1996 and released it 2011.

I totally agree, they need to hear us. You got a good piece of hardware here and if you want to wipe out the competition, you just have to deliver...still not gonna whine about the phone because its a hell of a phone for me and I don't regret having it...
I just hope they deliver ICS though, I won't care if they dont release GB if ICS is up and running on the phone
If the GB update solve all the current issues, I dont think it would take much time for them to deliver ICS, but still it depends on LG it they wants to give us ICS.
we will get ICS when Gellybean comes out, lg works on a different year.

Firstly, "HI!".
These Gingerbread ROMs aren't all SDK. Some of them are AOSP which means the source code for Gingerbread that is available. This isn't however a Nexus One flavour of the code which is what most people are waiting for (me included). Soime of the AOSP stuff doesn't fully work due to lack of drivers etc...
Still good for some people though.
No, we don't have enough whining threads. Let's make some more.

Well, if you want the official gingerbread, buy a Nexus S. Barring that, sit back and wait until it gets released for the N1. Pissing and moaning about it here will get you nothing. And wow...*****ing about a ROM that isn't fully optimized enough for you. Entitled much? I guess I must have missed the gingerbread ROM that YOU put out that was 100% optimized and running top speed. Those devs that have already put out ROMs deserve a freaking beer, not a whine-fest from you.

Google doesn't owe you any updates. You bought a working phone. Just because they do offer updates doesn't mean you are entitled to anything. If they never put out a gingerbread rom to the nexus one that's their right. They owe you nothing.

Yes, that is a bit disingenuous to say that, considering one of the major selling points of the Nexus One was that it was the flagship phone, and should expect to the first dibs on updates.
I have no resentment of the nexus S getting GB first, but seriously, they are dragging it on.

Most of us are rooted and running CyanogenMod7, and from the problems I read about from the people on unrooted phones, I wouldn't care if Google ever release a OTA, I'm happy with Cyanogen's builds, and I've never had issues with speed, except when I was on stock which was about three hours.

They owe "us" nothing. We bought a phone that was working, had an OS, and the only selling point of it was - it's a developer phone, easily rootable and customizable. Nobody ever said anything about updates, you didn't pay for them, and if you think you did - think again until you understand it completely. They happen? Thanks a lot. They don't? Oh well, such is life. They're delayed? Sit tight and wait.

It's true that they don't owe us anything, and it's their right if they decided that they are not going to update the nexus one. What I think people are complaining about is Google said about a month and a half ago that the OTA will be happening in the coming weeks. If they are going to take 2-3 months to push out the update then maybe 'coming weeks' probably wasn't the right choice of words, coming months is more appropriate.
I really don't like how Google handles all these updates, specifically how they chose to stay quiet about this issue. They said it'd be out in a few weeks, if it doesn't, why don't they give us some insight on what went wrong. A simple 'We found some bugs that would take a while to fix' and I'd be completely satisfied.

I paid a lot of money for my 2 computers too. But Dell and Microsoft don't "owe" me free updates either. Aside from that one time.........
Wait no, Google has never been too on target with their release dates.
There are still two major bugs that have to be fixed to my knowledge. The random reboot bug and the SD card vulnerability bug. Until these two bugs are fixed, 2.3 will not arrive on the N1.
News regarding the coming firmware update for the O2X.
LG Denmark confirms that the update is ready by next week or next week again - that is week 23 or 24.
- "The update is imminent, and are ready in one to two weeks, " says LG's Danish mobile manager Morten Aagaard to Mobilsiden.dk.
He explains that the update is currently being tested on all operators' networks in Denmark to ensure that it works one hundred percent - the same testing is currently also being performed in other European countries. When the update is a joint European release it must be released simultaneously in all countries.
"Therefore it is hard to say when exactly the update comes. It's fair enough that people get angry, but the update must of course also just be working, "says Morten Aagaard.

Well, it is still the newest statement from LG that we have at the moment.
But in general, I think every manufacturer should have a "I will believe it, when I see it" section. HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson to name a few. The list is long
haha, thats right, but iam lucky with my slick n.31 rom, very fast and stable, got no freezes or something.Iam anxios, how the devolopers will improve the new LG rom ^^
They probably are not sure they actually located the rebooting problem. Since it is (almost) impossible to reproduce the reboot they need such a long testing time, with no indication at all it will fix things lmao...

well. im not having any reboots...
what i want is gingerbread
I think we can believe them, that they try... it can't be easy to identify, and cure such a random thing... we should let them test it... no one would be satisfied if the just released a patch which won't help be patient people, LG knows he has to care, unless people won't buy their future stuff... they'll fix our problems
They will try it..and when they will see the first reboot or second then its time...!Update is ready reboots is working fine!let the update be released in the whole world... LOL
lets hope not to face something like that again for some fellas here with reboots problems...!
Here's a thought for LG, network operator's testing will only go so far to "break" the firmware.
IMHO, send the test firmware to the top 20 most chronic "battery pullers" on this forum. If they can all run it for a 2 weeks with no problems, it would certainly be a big improvement in stability.
Good news. If without any solution, probably, we need to change to use another mobile.

Had to sort out my Brothers HTC Desire last night, reinstalling everything after a repair.
It was embarrassing seeing how fast installations were.
Apps downloaded, installed and the phone was instantly ready to go.
My O2x on the other hand grinds to a halt when installing anything. I updated 4 apps last night and my phone was pretty much unusable during the downloads and installation.
After the apps were installed it still sat there for a good 30secs at 99-100% CPU usage.
The phone was stuttering and unusable until the Processor settled down.
I remember when I got this phone I was telling my brother about the Dual core processor etc. This may sound good but it's useless if it falls over when doing the most simple of tasks and gets outperformed by something running half the power
yes, a very annoying bug, welknown by everyone - except LG
very embarrising for LG
Yep, a pretty good cockup by LG. Custom ROMs don't have this 'feature' though.

The fix will be out before end of March next year, maby. As soon as we (LG) sorted the reboot and BSOD issue we (LG) will start working on your problem.
So in two weeks a year from now we promise you there will be a solution, if not sometime in spring 2013 for sure.
Althou we (LG) can't promise anything.
If you buy your telephone after summer 2013 you will be able to upgrade it to Gingerbread straight out of the box. Congrats!

There is a patch that Paul has made a week after the phones release.

And here is the explanation why this happens.
Explanation
Note the date of the post and mind that the phone was released In Europe In the last May weeks / begin of April.

My other concern was would Flashing CWM Recovery affect getting official updates OTA
I'm sure someone has said before that LG updates fail if you have a custom recovery
If they're a standard update.zip then they should still install on ClockworkMod recovery.
i dont get it, am i the only one without any sort of lag when dling/installing apps ? it just does it, and pretty darn fast too.
what the hell. and im on STOCK, no performance patches or nothing, only rooted and some stuff frozen. v10B
I have a lag as well. Like you just rooted with some apps uninstalled.
I kinda accept it though. My thoughts are that FSecure is scanning the install and therefore that's what's causing the problem. It's worse if you update say 4-5 apps at once.
TBH I'm not worried. I'm the kinda guy who just leaves a PC installing and hass a cup of tea. Same difference here really isn't it?
It's not F-Secure, it does it with that removed.

In Germany, LG gives this possibility to all customers, if you ask them. They do it because they don't know, when GB will be released for the 2X.
But it's only for Germany, I don't know, if LG makes this in other countries, too. Maybe you should ask LG.

I am very skeptical about that!!
They won't even give us a brand new device as a replacement here! So, I don't see why they would give us a BRAND NEW AND MORE EXPENSIVE device as a replacement! :/
But then, no harm trying..

Strange they would change your phone due to not having Gingerbread, as the replacement also doesn't have Gingerbread.
If CM builds were further along, I'd probably consider it.
But the O3D has nearly the same hardware than the Nexus Prime, so it'll be one of the first CM9 smartphones.
