I'm having a very strange issue with my SGS. I have ONE's 8.3 ROM and the device is functional. But, when i shut the phone down i can't turn it on. Every time I shut it down and then try to turn it on by pressing the power button, de loading circle image show up but a few seconds later the screen turns black, and cycle repeats forever.
The only way I am able to turn the phone on is to connect the usb data cable to the phone and an pc usb port where the phone has been connected before (any other port won't do), afterwards the battery starts to charge (even if full) and I can turn the freaking phone on.
Things i've tried:
Changed ROMs (CM7, MIUI, One), changed Kernels, wiped battery stats
Please help me as this is a very strange problem.
PS: is my phone is in that infinite cycle, i can enter in download mode but not in recovery
If you can enter download mode then try flashing a stock ROM via Odin.
i already try it and have the same problem with stock rom
I think your proximity sensor is not working anymore.
A friend of mine got a similar problem.
His phone won't wake up after having a call.
He only was able to turn it on by connecting it with USB or AC.
I also think you have to send it in for repair.
I'm sorry mate, but that's my solution
Well, maybe someone got a better one.
but my sensor its working perfectly i think inst it... :/

some times my phone will turn on light and turn off continues 5 secs .i am facing this problem in original and custom roms some times .when i reboot phone it will normal. can any one help me regarding this problem ?
Hi,
Have you checked if a rogue app working in the background wasn't responsible for this ?
check to see if the phone goes into charging mode and off charging mode all by itself, even when not even connected to the charger cable. if that is the case, I have the fix.
So when the phone wakes up and makes a charging sound, see if it really thinks its in charging mode and off again.
How about wipe to factory setting, than check and test.
So, I posted this on facebook group, but maybe there is someone in here who can help and isn't part of the group, so i'm posting here too .
So guys, i have a situation here, i was charging my phone, everything was okay, then it started to rain and started to lightning, the next day, when i took my phone off the charger, it wasn't working, it wasn't turning on, then i brought it to the support, they said everything was fine and even the phone was turning on, but not getting out of the logo screen, they didn't know how to enter in S/W mode, so i took it back and now the phone is with me, but it doesn't wanna turn on, even in the S/W mode. Then i ask you guys, there is anything i could do? If there is, please let me now, or do they lied to me ? I didn't want to get rid of my OB that soon. PS: I was using CM10.1 with ZeroGravityKernel.
The phone now turn on sometimes, stays awake for 30s and then blacks out .
I'm able to enter S/W mode but can't use Smartflash, it takes a least 2 minutes to use it D: .
what do you mean by only 30s? Like the battery dies after 30s or it just turn off?
Before sending your OB to service again change the battery instead it might not function well anymore due to the lightnings.
wait, Using smartflash you don't need a battery! So if your phone still turns off after 30s... it's actually the phone itself then...
try an "active boot" :
remove the battery, hold power key, then plug the charger until the logo appears. if the airplane mode was OFF, phone will boot, then reboot and will display the battery missing mesage. you may activate the airplane mode in a very short time before this occurs. from there you'll see if the phone stays ON or not. If not, that means this is a software or hardware issue. if it stays ON, that means there is a problem with the battery itself, or a charging issue
Hi, I have a problem with my Galaxy S3 Mini, the issue is that the phone was discharged, went out and did not turn over. When you get home and connect the charger it came on and also the loading screen. After ten minutes or so, left the battery charging icon and then off again. since then, the phone will not turn on, I can not enter the download mode or recovery mode if I connect it to the computer does not recognize it.
I installed Carbon Maclaw Mod 4.4.2
What could have been and what can I do?

My Xperia Z will not boot; the red LED flashes three times when I attempt to turn it on. I have tried resetting using the power button and volume up (most of the time it does not produce a response, but if it is plugged into my computer it will, where the LED will only turn off for maybe two seconds before coming back on), I have tried unplugging the battery (I have done this multiple times and on two occasions left it unplugged for over a week), I have tried flashing multiple different firmwares through Flashtool (they flash successfully but the phone still does not boot) and I have tried charging it for days and even a week one time with different chargers, but it still refuses to turn on.
This issue first occurred after I replaced the antenna flex cable and the buttons/microphone flex cable due to accidentally breaking them whilst replacing the LCD. I think this issue may have started because the battery was only on 7% when I disconnected it to replace the two parts, but I fail to see how this would discharge the battery so much? I am willing to purchase another battery if I can be certain that it will fix this issue.
Unlike some on this forum in other threads I have read through, the Sony logo does not come up at all, the screen is black the entire time. Also, when plugged into my Windows 8.1 laptop the computer tries to install drivers and says that it does not recognize the device "USB device not recognized" "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it". When now attempting to put into flashmode connecting it to a USB 2.0 port the phone does not respond for five seconds, then the LED flashes green then red immediately after, before the LED goes off again, then the firmware is flashed (successfully). Attempting to put the phone into flashmode when connected to a USB 3.0 port will only result in the LED turning red.
Thanks for your time, this is really frustrating me, and any help would be greatly appreciated
Help please, anyone?
Sometime i wake up and my phone is turned off , when i try to turn it on it flashes 3 red lights , charging would make it turn on , so 3 red flashes is from battery and since you can successfully flash frimware than it is not bootloader problem , it is either battery or something else is destroyed inside your phone , first try another ftf

Thanks, I have tried two alternate ftf files with no luck, but I will try a third and see how that goes Yeah, it's okay if the current battery is faulty and buying a new one that will fix the problem, but I don't want to waste money if that isn't the problem
Do you have 12v car charger. Try to charge with it. Helped to wake up my phone last week after too much drain to the battery
My phone was not entering flashmode just before when I was trying to flash a different ftf file, so I wondered what would happen if I disconnected the battery, and then tried it. I first just connected the phone without the battery and got a solid blue light from the LED. Then when I tried entering flashmode without the battery connected it worked! So since I can successfully flash ftf files without the battery connected I'm assuming the issue is the battery, or could it possibly be the part of the motherboard which the battery connects to like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/help/hardware-fix-xperia-z-charging-booting-t2760911 ?

I do have one somewhere, but I think it's broken The issue must be related to the battery or battery connection now, so I need to figure out which of the two it is before I take any further steps to fix it?
So I ordered a replacement battery and when first connected the phone would not turn on. After charging for a little while the LED went red, and the phone now vibrates when I attempt to turn it on and also when I try to reset it. So the vibrations feel correct (it vibrates once when turning on, once when volume up and power have been held for five seconds, and three times when volume up and power for ten or so seconds), but it still refuses to boot. I have tried three different chargers for extended periods of time, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery multiple times and have flashed a different .ftf file, but all to no luck. My Windows 8.1 laptop computer still says that the USB device is not recognised and nothing seems to be progressing
Is there anything more that I can do from here to try to fix it? Anything would be so greatly appreciated
Bump :fingers-crossed:
Mainboard may be broken.
I had this problem after flashing a wrong recovery but the symptoms were the same. I sent it to a repair center and they changed my mainboard and it worked fine so it could be possible that you've broken your mainboard in a way. (The reparation bill was paid by the warranty *horray*)
I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say.
Off topic: yay, it snows!
Hello,
i have ufo rom (I have 1.32 version rom but phone was 1.34 ) and ultimate kernel on my phone for few months now. Yesterday my phone discharged and from that moment I cant turn it on. I plugged it into charger and just orange LED is shining. If I try to turn it on while on charger phone vibrates once and LED stop shining. Display remains black, no other response from mobile at all. I also tried the trick with plastic tape and battery ( because of CWM) but it doesnt work. Also I cannot boot into recovery or anything like that. I also borrowed another desire 500 and took fully charged battery from that phone but it doesnt work either. If I connect phone to computer and then turn it on, again it just vibrates once and nothing else happens and windows recognises it as some type of CD ROM. I really cant help myself, I have read lot of articles but none of them helped. So thanks in advance!
Hold the power button for 20 seconds. Maybe turns on.

nope, just vibrates once and no other reaction.
up??
So no one has any idea why I cant boot phone??
You have to go back to stock rom. I had the same problem, vibrating 7 times. Added instructions on how to manage to boot and links for the original HTC rom files. In the general thread see my guide
