[Q] GingerCruzt installation problem - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, after I rooted my phone and installed xrecovery I tried to install GingerCruzt, but no luck.. No matter what I did, after the installation the phone boots until that colorful sony ericsson logo and then loops at it. The only way to recover the phone is to restore my backup after that. Any idea why this happens? Thank you very much for your time!

[Q] Recovery backup and restore

I'm on GingerDX at the moment and I've lost the ability to boot into xRecovery but I can still boot into CWM. I want to try restoring a backup to see if it fixes the problem but is it safe restoring a backup with CWM originally made with xRecovery?
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
You cant do that. Just use seus and restore your phone and install xrecovery

You know, I could just install another ROM and the problem would be possibly fixed but I'm asking just for future use.

Yeah. Cuz most roms have xrecovery preinstalled so that might fix the problem

Man I had the same problem once when I installed srom v2 long time back... well I wasn't able to figure any way out and the last thing I could do was flash stock x8 ROM ftf file using flashtool.. maybe you could try the same if you can go into flash mode..

Try pressing the screen on Sony Ericsson screen would work...

FIXED Thanks for the replies
Well I tried everything, even tapping the screen. I ended up having to go to a friends house and borrow his internet to use SEUS to repair. Ahh back to stock. Oh well, Jus gives me an excuse to try a new rom.
Thanks to everyone that replied
When this happens try to press all keys menu/home/back but am pretty sure that its the menu key, this will take you to xrecovery instead of back weired huh, dunno why is this but it happen to me twice 1st time i got freak out and ended taking phone to CS it had warranty, but then i didn't wanted stock rom and did it again and this did the trick...

I assume u already fullwipe after u flash the rom?

It happened to me as well when i tried to flash a ROM that should have a customer kernel and unlock bootloader (i have a stock kernel and locked bootloader, just for experimental purposes). Stock in SE logo. What i did is to flash my phone using SEUS and went back to stock rom.

If he's on stock he probably doesn't have recovery or root access
He's rooted but i don't think he has recovery?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859515
So IF he boot recovery it will just factory reset.
Made that mistake myself.

If you are rooted and have no recovery just get Rom manager from play store and install recovery from it, the app also has a reboot in recovery option

This is the easiest way.
Procedure for our newbie friend.
1. Download rom manager from play store.
2. Open the apps then click flash ClockworkMod Recovery (need internet connection to flash)
3. After flashing click Reboot into recovery
I suggest that use the old clockworkmod(Version 5.0.2.6) because base from my experienced i always have a hard time rebooting using the touch version. It's like there is a time out, i ended always into bootloop and it takes an hour to reboot.

Are you on stock 2.1??
If yes then it will not allow installation of huge apps directly
you have to do manually with any app with root access like titanium backup or root explorer..

Rom/Firmware:Read-Only Memory and technically speaking, it refers to the internal storage of a device, which is supposed to contain the operating system instructions that needn¡¯t be modified at all during the device¡¯s normal operation.
