[APP] Lifehacker Mobile - Thunderbolt Themes and Apps

Everyone loves lifehacker.com
Now there is an app to view it from your phone! Works great! Try it out and let me know what you think.
It's simple but works excellent!
Download from the Android Market here:
https://market.android.com/developer?pub=JP+Development

I don't love lifehacker (just to prove your tautology wrong ).
Their new(ish) layout sucks (their site, not the app).

anyone used it? like it?

I tip my hat to you.

just changed link, now offer free and paid versions. thanks.

Oh, did you make it yourself? If so, forgive my smartass comment before (though I didn't bash your app, just the owners of lifehacker). I would never put down anything someone takes the time to develop, being a fellow developer.

Yes, it is my app lol. 1000+ downloads and good reviews so far.

just crossed 1500 downloads... send me suggestions/feedback.

Allow links in articles to other articles not to prompt browser opening but just open the linked article in your app. In-app video playback would complete this too.
Retracting my fancy red reader comment. This thing is young but has good potential.

I like the app better than the actual lifehacker.com layout.

[ROM] Bionix NextGen One ** Team Whiskey ** 2.2 ** 5/4/11

I had absolutely nothing to do with this ROM. I repeat, I did nothing for this ROM. I have not even flashed it yet.
I know there are MANY fans of Team Whiskey and most have already found this on their site.
This thread is for those too lazy to walk away from XDA (like me). I found it hard to find a link to this ROM, so it's just in an effort to help.
Here is a link to their site and the thread for this ROM:
Again, I did nothing. I don't expect you to click Thanks or anything. I encourage you to join their site and donate to THEM if you feel like doing so.
If anyone is bothered by this (I'm just trying to help), I will gladly remove this.
Thanks!

So as to keep trolls that feel forced into registering and that don't think is worth it. This keeps their forums helpful and peaceful and clean from comments like the one above.

I think registration is a way of deterring trolls.
-cough cough-
Not sure if TW has fixed it yet but the Ginger Bread ver doesn't have TouchWizCalculator.apk or TouchWizCalendar.apk.
To fix you can download both ver... open up Bionix-NextGen-TouchWiz.zip with 7zip (NOT winrar), go to /system/app and copy TouchWizCalculator.apk and TouchWizCalendar.apk to somewhere on your PC.
Now open Bionix-NextGen-GB.zip ver and go to /system/app and drop them both in there... now you can flash the GB ver with TouchWizCalculator and TouchWizCalendar.
Hope this helps someone.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that n2ishun is one of those people that talks because he likes to hear the sound of his own voice. That or he's just a prick on the internet that has to interject some negativity wherever he can.

Tachometer App

This is my first post and I would like to say hello to everyone on the forum and thank for the wealth of valuable information that is here.
I would also like to share the application that I recently found that solved one of my needs on all my Android devices.
It's called Tachometer and it adds a speedometer to Google Navigation. Its takes a few minutes to fine tune it but it is exactly what Google Nav needs.
Hope this helps and keep up the great work!

No, that is not the case. This is a function that a lot of people have asked for from Google Nav. I thought this might be the appropriate place to tell others about it but I guess its not.

This has to be the best app. Does it come with a universal cable that I can hook up to my vehicle? I mean how else would it be a tachometer. It's going to tell me my rpm's right?

(MOD) alternative tweaking app for paek kernel

I have been looking for a great kernel tool that controls sound, CPU speed, and voltage.. Trickster is okay but for those who want total sound control I found this app I want to share with you.

How so? Its directly related to a very common kernel that's used in almost all these ROMs
I mean I agree but I believe this area is a good one for this post because many people ask about the sound control for the kernel and trickster doesn't have total sound control.. I just thought this would be a better area for this app.it will save the devs a lot of heartache

You're right and I'm not trying to come off mad or anything, just saying this should be in app section and would likely catch more attention and help more users having been posted in a section where users are looking for apps and things related. But you're right he deserves thanks for his sharing.
Thank you OP this app may very well be more useful

Acts childish then says dont act childish in the next sentence. Too Funny!! Lets all hope you find some real crimes tonight as you patrol the Kmart parking lot on your security guard patrol(while wearing your superman cape ) . Maybe that will lessen your need to troll the forums and pull out your wanna-be internet badge on harmless members only wanting to share with others.
Not sure why one feels the need to be an ass to someone sharing info with the community........... Correct or wrongly posted, I dont see the need for other being an ASS.........Too many kids here I suppose

Hey joe the link is broken. Could you give me the name of the app or a new link?
Try Kernel Adiutor in android market..

XDA Pro App - laggy and slow

This app is always really unresponsive, especially in first use. Trying to scroll a page can cause freezes for a few seconds.
Not seeing this with any other function. Stock Google factory build with Franco kernel running stock settings.
I bought the app for simplicity and speed over having to use a browser but the browser is normally faster?
Ideas?
Its junk and I would never pay for it. I prefer XDA desktop in Dolphin browser!
XDA app is really weak. You can try tapatalk, but it's also slow while scrolling, etc. Just poor coded apps from what I've been told. You can try tweaking your system to improve performance in the app, but it won't be perfect.
aosp browser with xda only, no apps needed nor wanted. always fast this way
I've said a million times the only reason I use Tapatalk is because there aren't any alternatives. XDA app is pretty much the same thing.
I cant complain about app, its works, notification works fast, no problems, sometimes kinda slow loading, but never crash
Good to know. Surprising given the skill of many people on this forum, a simple app like this should be perfect..... They have my money so too late for me! Back to the browser.

Tapatalk isn't made by XDA. The XDA app is also just a branded and licensed Tapatalk client. No apps are "perfect" either, regardless whoever created it.

Not sure if it can be considered as a serious alternative but give a try to Forum Fiend. I didn't test recent updates but the user experience was slightly different compared to Tapatalk.

Its just that there are hardly any good alternatives. Most forums apps you can find will be based on the Tapatalk API anyways, too.

Can't come fast enough. I do have a feature request for XDA One. I want it to data mine all the links I press and send me to an XDA redirect that's down half the time, pr2-xda-devolpers.com. Make that happen, and I'm on board. Oh, and I want little XDA branding on all the screenshots I upload.

O frabjous day, calloo callay! This is pleasant news because I don't think it can be overstated how ghastly and absolutely horrid the Tapatalk user experience and design are.
Looking foward to the new app however; it's obvious the current one is lacking and far behind
That is wonderful news. I have one question not related to the actual development of the app, will it replace the free and premium apps or become a new app? (Reason being is I bought both Tapatalk and XDA Pro)
Try Tapatalk, it just got better.
