Tweaked Kernel v2
Work well on 1.9.23, 1.9.30 and CM7 nightly builds. Need Feedback.
Dont forget to read review from link at bottom of post if using CM7 builds.
Features :
Original Upgraded & Latest Kernel Base & its features (with UV/OC) --> Battery Saver Kernel
Juwe's Tweak --> Best RAM optimization - best balance between free memory, multitask, speed of launching apps and system speed
Darky's Zipalign --> Zip Aligning Files
Loopy Smoothness Tweaks (On Testing) --> Smoother Response & Less Delay while unlocking, notification pulldown, etc
Voodoo Support
FFC Support (EXPERIMENTAL)
What To Expect in Next Versions :
GPS Tweaks <== Couldn't work on these for v2 since 1.9.30 came out early and FFC experimentation began.
More Optimization Scripting
Better FFC Support
Steps to follow :
Reboot in Recovery Mode.
Flash this zip file, it takes care of all.
Reboot.
> Most of the Tweaks are already added to 360 Productions Released ROMs.
> This kernel is NOT coded by me, and is only for people who would like to add tweaks with original kernel taste.
> This can be also used by those already flashed/using other Kernel and want to step to original Kernel.
> I don't take credit for this original kernel's base work.
> I just made CWM flashable (didn't found anywhere & I need badly to test different kernels' performance) and added tweaks.
> This will reset your GPS to stock! .
Tested by me ON MIUI & CM7 nightly builds. Flash on your own risk. Feedback needed.
Neither me nor 360 Productions will be held responsible if something goes wrong.

Not sure for Voodoo Color.
As mentioned in OP, kernel base not coded by me.
I am learning to code kernel myself, when done voodoo profile would be available.
If you want voodoo now, please reinstall Glitch.
this is what i am looking for, thanks.

What was your previous kernel? Did you reboot your phone again after feeling warm? I faced this same while on Glitch Kernel. The lithium build had Glitch Kernel and I wanted to switch to Atinm's build, hence this release. Everything working quite good this side.
EDIT: Here are screenshots of system info from my phone, I believe battery life to improve with calibration cycles.
some gps fix on the next build makes me excited.
and here i share you something about vibrant GPS. as you know, even if replacing the gpsd and changing settings by angrygps.apk, vibrant GPS works randomly.
i am now aware that only if gpsd is appeared in the battery-consuming list(settings-system-battery-battery use), GPS works well!!!! BUT the dilemma is that gpsd don't launch every time you boot your phone.

That dilemma can be resolved using some scripting, I think.
Thanks for the info.

oh man...i love u for this......no homo
Thread updated with latest kernel.
FFC Experimental Support added.
Need feedback which version is better since both version have different files.
Please read OP carefully before flashing.
Hey neobuddy,
Glad to see a new updated kernel around here
So if Im not mistaken, the original kernel is the kernel atinm was creating correct?
Also, what would you say has the best battery life for CM7? And will these kernels give better battery life than the kernel that comes with CM7?

Suppose to work well on CM7.
Working smooth on MIUI.
I will test myself within couple of hours.
And will post results in the OP.
I'm not getting Screen V1 gamma hack in voodoo control with your kernel. Can you add that to next version?

Did you flashed latest v2 from the OP? If no, please do so.
And what ROM are you on?
I just checked with Tweaked Kernel v2. And I am getting gamma hack.
Note: If you cannot see gamma hack, you probably are on Tweaked/original Kernel v1.

Nope, this kernel is based on MIUI 1.9.30.
I just added changelog, maybe that will solve some of doubts.
I am testing CM7 Builds and kernels.
Will report back and introduce if any better findings.
I just reflashed v2 tweaked and I still don't get screen v1 gamma hacks and the screen is dim at full brightness. I am using the new 2.37 cm7. I am back to Neo17r16 and the screen v1 gamma hacks shows up and works properly with no brightness issues.
Just wanna ask about ffc orientation.. I'm on miui 1. 9. 30 with ffc-6.. (glitch) ang I have a wrong orientation..

Bionix-v 1.3.1 is fast and incredibly smooth. By far the fastest and most stable Bionix-v build. I really tweaked the hell out of this one. I spent a lot of time finding the sweet spot. There's not much else to say, just enjoy and please leave your feedback and bug reports. This will probably be the last major update to this build as we are moving on to other builds. However, we will still provide support and necessary updates if there are bugs reported. Cheers!

NOTE:
Team Whiskey is not liable and takes absolutely no responsibility for any damages. Overclocking your phone adds additional stress to your hardware, so please understand the risks involved before you decide to overclock. Not all devices overclock the same, so please test the different clock speeds and see which one works best for you. Many times, certain devices will not accept an overclock at all. If you fall into this category, you will have to flash back to a stock kernel.
(all of these kernels have been compiled from official Vibrant 2.2 source code. They are include voodoo sound, voodoo color, and bln support. Bionix-v 1.3.1 already included the necessary apps for these features. Test these optional kernels and see which one works best for you!)

I would have to say that it would be just fine, but a few minutes to disable isn't that much of a pain to be on the safe side.

Doing my backups as I type and will edit this with initial thoughts. Going to keep editing this as I go through the setup process:
• boot animimation = A1+!
• wallpaper is cool, but meh for fitting the rest of the theme
• getting solid signal (E) when I was spotty at best, even on Nero 5
• thumbs up on the new dialer, love the blackness!
• browser still has 4 window limit
• TWiz Messaging = bleh, waiting for media scanning to complete to test MMS *does not seem to be working off the bat, will try usual fixes **receiving fine, sending not so much
• using Maps 1st GPS lock took ~20 seconds, afterwards ~5-10 seconds - will update on # of Sat. once I restore apps
•• 10m accuracy
• Camera banding appears to be MINIMAL w/FFC Mod - using included Camera app so no FFC support
To Som/TW:.
Keep up the great work and looking forward to future projects.
***on a complete side-note, what happens when the Thanks Meter fills up? Som is getting close!***
Can't wait to try it out.
I'm coming over from Axura; not going to disable voodoo, so I hope things will go alright.
Anyway, I'll give feedback on how things went. Titanium is backing up my apps as we speak, so anytime soon.
edit: on second thought, I disabled voodoo.
I will like to install this rom but there are two of them one says bionix v voodoo and the other says bionix v tw voodoo. What is the difference ? thankx

The one that says tw includes the touchwiz launcher
The one with tw means it's using Samsung TouchWiz launcher instead of the Gingerbread launcher.
Anyway it seems like too many people are downloading... my download got stuck
And the ram have changed?Or we still on 304mb?
Pure awesomeness!!!!!
Downloading and flashing shortly....

Team Whiskey Website
Introduction:
Now that the 'official' 2.2 has dropped, Team Whiskey wanted to bring the Bionix name back. As most of you know, the Bionix series was known for its stability and speed. Nero was just a test run until we were confident everything was stable. Bionix-v has all the same features that was in the Nero series, but we've beefed it up with a bit more speed and of course stability.
Coming Soon:
Team Whiskey is in the process of doing a complete revamp and restructuring. Over the course of the next 2 weeks, we're going to begin making very high quality themes for our roms. I guarantee you, nothing will compare to them! In addition, we are in the process of expanding our team in order to being porting more roms to the Vibrant community, as well as further development on other phones. Also, as soon as we get our hands on the source code, we'll begin a full AOSP build compiled from source. At that time, we'll finally be able to compile a true vibrant 2.2 overclocked kernel which will provide much better battery life to the current ones based off i9000 source.
Important Notes:
1. After flashing, make certain you allow your phone to sit for a few minutes so your phone can completely boot and your dalvik-cache and rebuild. After sitting for a few, we suggest rebooting once to smooth everything out.
2. If you're having any kind of issue, please try rebooting once before reporting it as a bug. If your problem still persists, try reflashing. If you still experience the issue, then please report it. Trouble shooting in this order will help prevent unnecessary thread clutter.
3. If flashing the rom on anything other than a 100% fully charged battery, your battery stats WILL be wrong. In order to obtain optimal battery life after flashing, you need to recondition your battery and run your device through 3-4 battery cycles. Please do not report battery issues after running the rom for only 2 hours, etc. Minimal testing times are 24 hours, but we suggest 3-4 full battery cycles, which is roughly a 48-72 hour testing period.
4. If you are already currently using voodoo either with one of our roms or another rom, you DO NOT have to disable it before flashing. Just flash right on top!
Bionix-v:
- Complete KA7 build (official OTA 2.2) kernel, modem, system files, apps, etc.
- Accurate battery mod
- 4 lock screens to choose from - android stock, epic, fascinate, vibrant
- Additional power menu options - reboot, reboot into recovery, reboot into download mode
- Nexus S gingerbread themed (as close as it gets to the real deal)
- Custom init scripts written by team whiskey for additional speed, stability, battery life, etc.

• enabled "null" encryption key/algorithm for IPSec support
• enabled NTFS read & write support (basic)
• circumvented a compiler bug to let it compile with more optimized flags with cache size in mind [need feedback if these affect battery runtime negatively]
• fixed WIFI compile failure (2 array problems this time for good; kudos to LeeDroid for his help !)
• deactivated SYSVIPC (less overhead and we don't have it available on Android)

FAQ:
Q: I get a black screen after first boot, after some time, only bottom buttons light up.
A: Keep power button + home + vol up pressed until it reboots and it shows samsung galaxy s logo.
Hold it for some seconds shortly before the Cyanogenmod splash appears (Timing!) [Same like getting into Recovery]
Wipe /cache & Dalvik Cache again & "reboot system" - now it should work
Q: Auto-rotation isn't working, what's wrong?
A: Check that it's enabled in settings or the notification power widget. If all else fails, press the power button down 10+ seconds until it 'hard' reboots. (Ignore appearing power menu.)

Done. Updated!
Very nice. Test driving conservative, feels nice.
wow! CM7 with ext4, damn. ow I'm really getting interested to CM7.

I had three reboots running this today. The first two occurred when I opened apps, (a game and a streaming radio app). The third time was when I took a phone call. After the third reboot I couldn't get a cell signal, even after a couple of reboots/trying to select a network manually. Ended up having to flash a different kernel to get the phone working again. Before these issues, however, it was running great, and seemed to perform better than my current kernel... not sure what got in to it. Will wipe and try it again!

it's actually fixes for ext4
and ext4 afaik is only used on /data
something to play around for you guys - the following should cut battery consumption approx. by half:
Only for experienced users (!):
Testing request (potential better idle battery runtime):
ok guys,
please test the following:
extract 89system_tweak
from the kernel update package and change following line:
from
Code:
setprop pm.sleep_mode 1;
to
Code:
setprop pm.sleep_mode 0;
(have a backup of the kernel update package)
then delete 89system_tweak in that update package and replace it with the modified one
experience in the past showed that when changing from
setprop pm.sleep_mode 1;
to
setprop pm.sleep_mode 2;
battery runtime got worse
so changing it to the highest battery saving level (0) it should improve things
for best results & if it works you can try to use JVK modem (were usable)
that gave me the best idle and overall battery runtime so far
thanks !

I see no kernel updates at the repo
so it's already up-to-date
So if I flash the kernel the fixes will still be applied with the latest nightly?

i am testing this right now, i'll let you know how this work on the vibrant, because it looks like this was made on the I9000 forums.
Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between this kernel and bilboa's CM7 kernel?
This ROM was created by 'ngiordano' at Simply-Android
I do not develop this ROM. Do not PM or contact me about making changes.
Please thank him over there (or here, up to you) for his efforts
Donate to ngiordano here!
I can't be the only person here who has been watching, waiting, and hoping for an AOSP ROM for the Vibrant. Just something that's fast, smooth, and just works. So when I saw mindstormmaster1 post this thread in General on the NoFrills AOSP ROM a couple weeks back, I was quite excited. I've been using this as my daily driver since then, but I figure the proper place to inform the Vibrant community of its existence is here in the Development section.
So, to share it with the masses, here is ngiordano's NoFrills AOSP for the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant T959:
Built from Gingerbread source with some CyanogenMod tweaks added. I used Vibrantmtd device folder from CM for the compatibilities and fixes. This ROM is very fast and stable.
Features:
- My very own kernel (details below)
- AngryGPS for fast GPS lock
- No-Frills CPU Control
- OC to 1.3
- Voodoo sound
- BLN (No app required)
- Updated Rom Manager
- File Manager
- Theme Chooser with 2 additional themes
- Additional wallpapers
- But overall simple settings and functionality
If you are coming from a 2.3 ROM:
- Enter CWM recovery
- Wipe data/factory reset
- Go to mounts and storage, format system , go back.
- Go to advanced, wipe dalvik cache.
- Go to Install zip file, select zip file, and Install
- Reboot to system
Currently on 2.1 or 2.2 samsung roms (stock or custom):
- If you don’t have CWM recovery, Download Rom Manager and install CWM recovery
- Download Odin from here if you don't have odin already and GingerBread Bootloader
- Load GBL in PDA, click on bootloader update and reset time. Nothing else.
- Once odin says pass with a green bar, pull battery.
- Enter CWM recovery, wipe data/factory reset.
- Go to mounts and storage, format system , go back.
- Go to advanced, wipe dalvik cache.
- Go to Install zip file, select zip file, select the ROM and Install
- Reboot to system.
If your internal storage reads 0 MB after install:
- Boot to recovery
- Wipe Dalvik
- Re-flash ROM
- Fix permissions

New Kernel
http://www.multiupload.com/EG07T8S6GX
Glitch kernel was giving me issues like freezes, and the inability to use the external SD card.
I compiled this with many goodies
- SD card now works
- BLN
- OC to 1.3 GHz (Unstable anyhigher. Still very responsive)
- Usable governors (SavagedZen, smartass, interactive(X), conservative, userspace, powersave, ondemand, performance)
- Voodoo sound
- CWM 4.0.1.5
- Plus many other goodies
- Also works on CM7 and MIUI. (CM7 governors do not stick after sleep. VibrantMTD CM7 issue.)

And on a personal note, I installed an FFC on my Vibrant, so I've been using this post:

for a very good, working FFC.
There are no 4-image issues, the FFC is rotated correctly, and full 720p HD recording works as it should.

built from AOSP. CM7 for fixes.
No ****ty themes.
No extra lockscreens.
No replaced icons.
No TW touches.
No additional crap.
Not AOSP"ish".
Not starting from CM7, and then themed to standard AOSP.
Not JVQ with a gingerbread launcher and "removed" apps.
Please read.
This is as stock AOSP as I have ever seen for the Vibrant - without any of the bloat BS from CM7-sourced ROMs.
This performs identically to my Nexus S 4G. Working GPS. No lag to be found. Smooth as butter. Oh, and 911 dialing works.

It's quite clearly stated in the quote that this is not pure AOSP. It is, however, as close to AOSP as you're gonna see for the Vibrant. This is not built from CM7 source like the other "AOSPish" ROMs in this section. It is built from AOSP first, and has CM7 tweaks for stability or GPS to make the ROM functional.
That said, if you can find a "more" AOSP Rom for the Vibrant than this one, I would sure love to see a link. Until then, practice those reading skills.
And if you don't like this ROM, don't download it, and don't install it. Keep waiting for that "real" 100% AOSP ROM that - as yet - does not seem to exist. I'd know - i've been looking for a simple, stock, AOSP Rom for the Vibrant since this phone was released last year.
Ok ! But Why default lockscreen is rotary ? (-> CM7 source)
AOSP lock isn't present because, CMparts.apk is absent..

Long story short, this is a follow-up to the excellent work Stefan did with his ICS28G release. I decided to post this rom some days before my original intentions, because Stefan's thread is now closed and there will be no follow-up. Besides that, LG is making us wait until the end of the world before releasing their official update and this will make me work twice at least (now and when the proper kernel sources will be released). That's all.
Feedbacks are welcome.

P.S. This rom wipes completely your phone (see changelog for exceptions),Backup all your data before installing this Rom!!!
KNOWN ISSUES:
- Overclocking is highly unstable in this rom. I managed to OC my device for a few minutes but it hangs in a while. So, OC is for now enabled only for TESTING PURPOSES! Keep that in mind and do not complain about it until I will manage to make it stabler. (All OC issues are solved flashing SP2: overclock is really stable on my device @ 1.3 Ghz)

NOTES and KERNEL SOURCE:
I need time to comment out the source for every single change I made. So I committed the source AS-IS for other developers to immediately take advantage of an already patched base, ready for further commits. I will add comments to the source ASAP
- People coming from other roms are strongly advised to firstly flash the v28g nvflash package (1.0 rom nvflash based) and THEN upgrade to the following releases

CREDITS:
- The entire CM team and AREMCEE in particular for his kernel repository. Without his github commits I would have not been able to recompile the sources
- Zeppelinrox for V6SuperCharger and Kick Ass Kernelizer
- wkpark and ibladesi for OC/UV code and ramhack solution
- Stefan Guendhoer for providing the base rom I reworked
- Faux 123 for the tweaks I applied to the deadline scheduler
- LG for providing us a leaked rom ?????? Am I just crazy ?????

ROM is uploading now (37% at the time being).
In the meanwhile, I drop some notes and some thoughts about it:
1) I use this rom from last week without any issue (besides overclocking) ad I must admit that even with the recompiled kernel I noticed no issue. Battery life is quite good compared to CM7.
2) The kernel is the same that AREMCEE used for his CM10 and the issues I noticed there are not present here. I mean I did not encounter the in call audio bug nor the Bluetooth always disconnecting issues here. So, I think that the old bootloader has a role in these bugs (the kernel is not the guilty part).
3) Overclocking: this is a real mistery for me: on other devices the same code works a charm: here you can't achive a stable OC even at 1.2 Ghz. Please help me to discover if this behaviour is limited to my own device. Try to OC gradually and report your results. The rom will always boot at 1.0Ghz, so no risk to brick it!
4) ZRAM really helps in making device snappier, so you can assume that LG did finally a good work and all the lags you can experiment are due to RAM constraints.
Let me know....
Will test it directly, thanks!
If you want I could share my resumes after one day with you at the friday evening.
Good, we need the new builds of ICS, custom rom ICS, come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank's master.
welcome back.... many here missed you.

EDit: yes OC is little flaky right now but we should be coming to stable point when more people work on it.
And old bootloader is not related to in-call audio bug, it will appear after 3-4 days. But its not always the case, that issue is not traceable. Bluetooth fix was simple and it would not be in your kernel if you are not using cyanogenmo_p990_defconfig
So happy to see "new" devs, will be looking forward to flashing this

It's nice to see you back
Especially, because of keeping fight up between devs and LG code

That's the way I like to develop. Sharing code (very well commented code) is the way to go IMHO. Cooperation is the key to success.
But.......I will miss Stefan in any case (even if my personal line of thought is nearer to yours than Stefan's one). Devs are rare stuff for a device that's slowly dying, and if I can put a good word in this fuss, try to find a good compromise with him, my friend
Hi Topogigi,
I don't know you, but anyway wellcome back! I've heard the best about your work on O2, so i'am happy you're back. Good luck!
Welcome Back Topo
I am happy that we have the opportunity to try something new from your factory.
Topo Nostaligia was great as a return to the past, so now let's move into the future with the new Topo ICS :good:
And Return Of The Legend!! Welcome back Topogigi!!:victory: :highfive:

Is possible to make 1 OC kernel to official cm10?
Upload finished, rom online. Enjoy.
P.S. I will make a CWM flshable zip, but many people are now stuck with the old bootloader and ATM it's better to release a rom with nvflash. I'll consider to build two versions next time.

No, CM10 kernel is slightly different. And, I will consider to build something for cm10 if AREMCEE will adopt the new bootloader for CM10....
WTF, some leaves unfortunately, but now you're back Topogi, we all missed you and we all welcome you back and thanks for sharing your rom
