Hey, please help me!
I've been using Apex for a long time, and after I upgraded from 9.1 to 9.2 the problems started showing up.
I tried to flash the version with no wipe (9.1 to 9.2) and the phone went into a bootloop, so I flashed back to JF6 and followed the Apex-Flasher package instructions.
The rom was working fine but the battery life are so bad that the phone is almost unusable.
I'm not charging the phone all night, I'm charging to 100% before I go to sleep, turning off WIFI and 3G, and when I wake up the battery is just 5-7% less.
But now with 9.2 the battery is 15%-20% less!!
I tried to flash Apex 10, but it's the same.
Maybe it's because the Apex Flasher package contains AT&T BL? I thing that before 9.2 I was using I9000 BL.
Even when the phone in flight mode and with no SIM the battery is draining in few hours!!
When I'm checking the battry use in settings, I always see "Cell standby" firse.
And another small thing, In Apex 10 you removed a lot of things, one of them was the Buddies Now widget which I like a lot. I tried to copy the APK to the app lib in system, but it didn't work. I also tried to install it but it didn't work. How can I get this widget?
Thanks in advance!
Buddies now widget does not work with JVS build. It needs to be ported again. As for battery life you have to tell which process/app eats your battery?
Check what using the battery most under the battery stats.
You could have asked this question in the Apex Q&A sticky there was no need to start a new thread.
I posted this problem in the Apex thread but no one had answered me, this thread seems to be a little dead.
Anyway, thanks for the Buddies Now answer
As for the battery drain, the first in the list in battry use is "Cell standby" even when the phone is in flight mode, or without sim at all :S
Maybe the AT&T bootloaders not working well with this rom or kernel?
Cell stanby means the phone is searching for network try a different modem, What modem did apex 9.1 had.
But I have full signal all the time.
The modem hasn't changed, it's KC1 in 9.1, 9.2 and 10
try a different modem anyway
OK, what modem can I try? How do I change the modem?
Is there a way to run this rom and kernel with I9000 bootloaders?
There is a modem sticky in the dev section DL the modem u want ro flash place on the phone memory ans flsh it through recovery, No need to change ur bootloaders as they will not effect the phone in anyway.

There are many, many modems.
I believe in the dev section there is a link where people report which modem works best in certain locations, i would check that out.
OK, the problem solved in a mysterious way :O
Just went to sleep yesterday with 97% and I woke up with 92%
Thanks everyone!!

Hello there,
i have a europpean galaxy s i9000 with darkys 5.5 rom installed, and im not content with the battery drainage (except in standby with everything disabled it's ok). Previously on base jpu rom it was MUCH better: 1 hour of listening to music cost 4-8% of batterdrainage, with darkys rom it's already 20% and the back of the phone got really hot! (Same for 3g, wifi-usage and so on).
So my question: What is the best rom for least battery drainage?
my best configurations so far were the following:
-2.1 jm2 rom without lagfixes
- 2.2.1 jpu without lagfix/root/custom kernel, but with battery booster from the market.
I flash JPU 2 days ago,and i m not so happy with the battery,so i dont recomend it.
I'm about to try Darky's ROM as it looks like it has better battery life than stock Froyo
There are so many factors that effect battery performance and the individual rom really doesn't have much to do with it. Start with having the most accurate modem for your carrier and go from there. Pick a kernal that works for your application and watch your services.
Hello Friend,
I also used DarkyROM and others which included lagfix and finally i returned myself to the leaked version with XXJPU 2.2.1 Froyo and all what i have dobe is that i flashed the CF-Root trough Odin3 v1.3.
Now, i am more thna satisfied , as I entered in third day running the phone without charging !
All the time wifi is in background running as because of mail syncing.
I am not using UMTS network as i set in network settings just to use GSM, as I never surf from 3G and gprs will do I job regarding the mails.
All lag fixses as I noticed drain battery so fast , but anyway thanks to their Authors for creating them and making us happy with playing with this wonderfull mobile phone.

Hi,
By the leaked version, are you referring to the stock version available for download. Also what did you use as a modem, getting 3 day battery backup is amazing and I will not mind a little lag that the JPU has over darky's rom if the battery life is that amazing.
I have never got battery more than 24 hrs ever.
Regards,
Kailash

Hello friend,
I used this one :
I9000XXJPU ## 512.PIT Version 2.2.1 2010 December
Download is possible via :
Code:
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
And direct Multiupload :

Disconnect Your phone from USB.
Put it in Download mode ( by pressing Volume down + Home + Power button ).
Run Odin3 v1.3 on Your PC.
Now connect phone by USB to Your PC.
Odin3 will recognize it by on one of COM ports.
when You unpack You have 4 files, 512 .pit file , csc, modem and pda file, load them in order :
512.PIT File
Modem File
PDA FILE
CSC File
Check under checkbox for re-partition. ( VERY IMPORTANT ! )
Wait that phone is flashed, after it boots, put it again in Download mode.
After that flash CF-Root 1.7.1 PDA file, with unchecked re-partition checkbox.
That is all.
Hey,
I have this problem with Wifi not going to sleep (yes it's set in options to sleep while screen goes off).
I had it on stock JVP (darkcore) and now i got this on Criskelo v70 (darkcore also).
please help me cause it's really annoying
cheers
Try to ask help from Darkcore's kernel thread so that same kernel users could help you with your problem.
Wait, you cannot post yet on the development forum, right? Maybe you could PM some of the darkcore kernel users...
Well i dont really think it's kernel related since no one else seem to have this problem on dark core.
I tried changing a kernel and just as i thought it didnt help, then i wiped the device and still the same thing...
i have no idea what could'v cause it and it seems im the only one with this problem
i think i can try going back to older GB release and than flash jvp again, but i will wait some time for an answer first
edit: i forgot about one important thing: when the phone is connected to the charger Wifi goes to sleep normaly, weird..
edit2: FIXED!
this was my case:

A month ago I posted this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650113
And I still cannot fix the problem. I sent the phone back to repair but it didn't help at all! The repair description said that they did a 'software update'. It took about 3 weeks for my phone to return so I don't really want to do it again. Unless I really have to.
I have tried many stuff to fix this problem:
Bought 2 new batteries
Clean ROM install with NVFlash
Installed different basebands and rils
Formatted the batterystats
Tried different kernels and ROMs (custom and official)
Pulled out SIM/SD Card
Please does anybody know a solution for this problem? I really want my phone back!

Wow your battery drain (Screenshots from your first thread) is really huge. Let's try to solve that mystery together
But there is a chance that your phone really is faulty after all you tried already.
Please insert the original battery and fully charge it.
I don't use stock roms but think you should flash an official kdz first without any custom kernels. V20q or V20s (maybe with flix tweakpack). DONT use titanium backup etc, leave it stock.
You should install battery monitor widget by 3c to get information on your mV consumption.
In your Screenshot your reception wasn't good, please set it to "2g only" for now (or even consider to disable data totally and check how it behaves with wifi only).
Use your phone normally. How is your battery?

Thanks for responding.
I have tried to install the latest firmware with the LG update tool and the drainage was about the same. I did not install anything else on the device then.
Currently I am on the latest CM7 kang by temasek and baseband version v20s with 420 ril (also v20s daemon, I don't even know what this is).
I'll try battery monitor widget.
The reception at where I live is not so good even with 2g only. But I don't think that's the case becuase I tested with airplane mode activated and have also removed the SIM card.
Thanks again.
Just wanted to report that battery monitor widget is showing a power consumption of about -130 mA while on standby.
I think this is a very big number. And I think I had about -10 mA before this problem.

I had the v20s deamon installed too and I also had a pretty huge battery drain.
So my suggestion : remove it (by installing clean rom again).
As Tonyp already mentioned : try to install an original LG rom with it's default BB en RIL (use NVFlash to flash it). Don't use any other kernels or tweaks. Just the default.
Also don't restore anything (for instance with Titanium Backup or other program).
And set your phone to use 2G only, because a bad reception can indeed drain your battery (and fast too !), because it constantly seeks the network. Setting it to 2G only (it's mostly the strongest signal) can avoid battery drains.
And finally try to recalibrate your battery, there are tools available for that in the Google Play store.
Recalibrating the battery is a hoax. At least if you mean to wipe the battery stats (what most tools do). Real recalibrating would be to completely drain the battery (till the 2x turns of - not more! A completely empty li-ion battery would damage it!) and fully charge it again. But that doesn't improve the battery life, it will only improve the battery reading precisness.

Same results with stock based roms too?
CM roms are battery hungry
Yes, I got the same results on stock ROMs. I tried to 'cleanly' install the v10b firmware via NVFlash without installing else on my phone many times. And the problem still persist.
Hello. As some of you may remember - I have serious problems with wakelocks and it's related to a "SMSDispatcher" service (for those who are interested - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2138980).
I had no issues at all on ICS before I upgraded to official JB. Great battery life, huge screen-on time, ~3 days on battery with small usage was something normal for me.
But after upgrading to JB I started to get wakelocks. Loads of wakelocks. I checked battery stats - the Dialer apk showed up. I installed Better Battery Stats and it showed me that "SMSDispatcher" prevents my phone from goind into deep sleep. I thought it was a bug so I flashed back my .195 4.0.4 FW. And guess what. The problem was still there. It... transfered from JB to ICS?! I have this problem for 3 weeks now and even today I still don't know how can I get rid of this.
I tried wiping every partition on the phone including both SD's. Tried deleting contacts on SIM card. Tried deleting all contacts from GMAIL and manually adding them again. Tried flashing stock JB and use my T without restoring ANYTHING. But I haven't tried one thing:
Yesterday I installed unofficial CM10 (from original android development subforum). Almost clear android could have bringed a peace to me finally. It runs great but not perfect. Why? I still have SMSDispatcher issue. LOADS of wake-ups from the Dialer apk (sometimes it shows as com.android.phone, sometimes as RILD).
What I discovered is that on ICS these wakelocks are shorter than on JB. About 1/1,5h of wakelocks for ~22h on battery. On Jelly Bean it was 3h for 8h on battery.
As far as I remember on 4.0.4 .195 FW there was -19 baseband. Both official JB and CM10 use -33 baseband which may be a problem, I don't know.
So my next step in my long path to get rid of this annoying bug is changing to ICS baseband.
And my question is - which files shoud I pull from .195 stock SONY 4.0.4 FW?
I tried to flash baseband using flashtool but the baseband didn't change. It's still -33. So I probably need binaries/files pulled from ICS and I don't know which ones.
Can you help me? Maybe with your help I could finally get rid of this or at least make the problem less annoying...
Can you just flash an ICS firmware and exclude everything except baseband?
Not sure if it wise but it may help you.

I already did that. No result.
Another idea - is it possible to repair software on the phone with unlocked BL?
EDIT:
Ok, found Jozinek's thread with .ftf to relock my bootloader. I will try to repair my software and see if this fix my problem.
Problem solved. It was my old SIM card's fault. It was more than 6 years old and I had to manually cut it from mini-SIM to micro-SIM shape. I probably damaged its inside structure or something. I went to my carrier and requested a new SIM card factory cut to a micro-SIM shape and now everything is ok! No strange wakelocks at all!
Hi mate!
I just was wondering after all that u've experienced what do you thing about JB , which is better for performance and battery life management ICS or JB? I'm just thinking is it worth it to upgrade to JB or stay on ICS
Stay on ICS if you don't like charging your phone once a day (in good scenario). Or twice.
ICS has definitely much better working Extended Standby Mode. It gives you amazing battery life sometimes. I'm on JB because of better multitasking and higher RAM available but speaking about the battery - ICS wins. JB just has to be fixed and tweaked by SONY. It's just a first public release. So bugs are something common. We have to wait.
Im writing this because my battery life got really bad, and please don't start saying it's a ROM, Google or some apps I've installed issue, because I got this problem with basically every rom, starting from stable, dev MIUI ti LOS15.1.
As you can see from the pictures I get "Mobile network standby drain" in every rom, (In MIUI is called Cell standby)
So i thought It was a firmware issue and I changed, reflashed It and formatted a lot or times but no luck.
So at this point I thought that was an Android way to tell me my battery is diying, but I don't really understand, I also got an android wearable device but this problem persisted even before I bought it.
I've also attached a bugreport
2h of screen are also good for what I got usually, other days I can reach the end of the day 20% with 1h and 30 of screen.
Seems like I solved in LOS15.1 by flashing the latest firmware from the latest dev package from xiaomi, replacing the files on the firmware flashable zip which some guy posted, but not updated it.

So, did it help? Please be specific what exactly did you do.
Set the principal SIM(The SIM that you use mobile data) to 4G Network mode and the secondary SIM to GSM or 2G mode.
