I got my dell streak 7 back. I had given it to my daughter but she didn't take care of it so I took it back from her(she lives with her mom). Wow there are all new people here. everyone that was here seems to be gone. Did anyone ever get cwm working with hc? Once we get an official release from dell I'll work on it. (For those that don't know me I ported over cwm for the s7)
So with hc it's going to update the wifi only model? I don't use 4g or the radio so is there a wifi rom somewhere I can flash so I get the ota when it comes out?

Currently its due for september.
seriously though, its released when its ready. No sooner.
And if the devs have to take the time to answer questions like this, then it will further delay the release.
If you really want to find out, read what alterbridge/pittbul have posted in the official thread in the dev section, like the rest of us.

I seem to be spending most of my xda time on the sgs2 section....I'm happy with my tab, so just pop in now and again to see what is new. Basically to see if cm7 is matured, and also to see what wizardry the overcome team have produced.
But the sgs2 has tons more development(more is not necessarily better though, seeing as people just seem to be releasing 'themed' roms, nothing original apart from villainrom), but its a lot to keep up with
I can't live without the foldable car option.

Overcome 2.01 crashes after upgrade from Overcome 1.6
Hi, I am new to the forum so please bear with me.
I had previously installed Overcome 1.6 on a Telstra Galaxy tab; I ran it for around 2 month with no hiccups. I recently updated to Overcome 2.01 to have video on skype; however ever since the upgrade the Tab is really unstable. It crashes every time I try to look for directions from google maps while on the road.
The crash is so severe that it won’t go past the overcome boot logo after restart. I reinstalled a couple of times with the same result. I also tried following the guide to step 6 and see if it also happened on the “factory fresh gingerbread” form; and this time it crashed as soon as I used the browser over wi-fi. The crash is as severe, the tablet shows a lot of pop up errors after boot and then it boots itself again.
Can I revert back to Overcome 1.6 while the new version (Android 2.3.4) is released; or I can’t go back from gingerbread to froyo?
Thank you for advising.
Cheers,

Hi There,
I indeed followed the instructions to the line the 3 times and the result is always the same.
I did notice that on the last step when loading the rom itself, the screen flickers a few times and during the "loading kernel" line a few blue lines appear; the process still finishes normally.
Should I use the Telstra modem file instead of the one on the JK3 folder?
Cheers,
hi carludo
crash while jusing wifi maybe the wrong modem. you are from australia?
is it a euro or asian tab? so look for the right modem. many times flash
the same maybe wrong.
best wishes to downunder.
Hi There,
Correct, it is a Telstra Galaxy tab, I used the modem file in the JK3 folder as per the instructions; I will give it another try and use hte modem file from that Testra restock thread and see if it makes a difference.
I will let you know later tonight how it goes.

I've been trying to find a link to any alternative ROM for my Verizon Galaxy Tab but all of them inevitably lead back to some guy who goes by 'oldmacnut' who ragequit and deleted all the download links.
Are there any alternative ROMs left for the Verizon tab?
time to get a new tablet cdma has no one any more posting on xda imo its a dead tablet.
Get the CM7 over at rootzwiki. I'm running that on a vzw tablet. It's incredible
Is there any reason to root this tab anymore?
I've rooted all my devices (Evo 3D, OG Evo, Acer 500, Nook Color, and Zoom) but this cdma g tab. I've had the g tab for months and rooted it when I first got it then unrooted to get the gb update and never rooted it again. It's 3g but not activated (so wifi only for now) and don't see a reason to root it due to lack of cdma deving.
I love cm7 but not sure if its stable enough for this tab?
Anyone else feeling this way?
PS. Every device I mentioned above are rooted with custom roms and other tweaks.
Edit. I don't post much here so if these questions are dopey I apologize.
Thanks in advance.

It just depends on what you do with the Tab. I've had mine rooted since the day I got it, and wouldn't look back. Titanium backup to freeze all the bloat on stock is so worth it. The rootzwiki CM7 release is as stable as stock for me, haven't looked back since I found it.

Thanks for your input but I don't feel as if my tablet should be considered garbage just because there's new hardware out.
I just bought this tablet a month ago so it's new to me.
I'm not bothered that there's no further development, I'm just aggravated that this guy did all this great work for the community and then rage quit and destroyed it all so no one could enjoy the fruits of his labor.

Man i know you can get it to work You done some pretty amazing stuff on here and if you cant maybe you can get Jaybob to help you or something
with the navigation buttons at the bottom, it might be a little cramped. sure we can change the dpi to like 120 but my phone lags when i try to make everything smaller and fit more on the screen.
Or if the navigation buttons can be removed... who knows. Of course even cramped ICS would be great on our Heroes.
Im almost positive we will get some sort of port of ICS. Ever since froyo the companies have been saying that the hero simply can not handel the new updates because of minimal system requirements. However I red an article with a Q&A about ICS, and one of the questions was what are the minimal system requirements for ICS? The anser was none that i can think of right now. ICS is meant to bring Android tablets and phones toghether in developmental terms. Google is trying to unify android, rather than have phones rounning one type of android and tablets another. It has even been said that ICS will be available for older devices of up to one year old or so. But in closeing im prety optimistic about a port for the Hero, and probably sooner than latter.
Considering that our devs got the source now I'm sure were gona see ICS can't wait

I downloaded the beta version of ICS for hero to see how it looks and feels it"s a little buggy it has some things that need to be worked out like not being able to pair with bluetooth device and bluetooth turning off completely and not being able to turn it back on again... Also when trying to turn on wifi hotspot the phone just hangs there saying turning on wifi screen I let it run for 5 minutes before I rebooted my phone... This rom is in early stages of devoplement and if and when the stuff that isn't working gets fixed I see this as my next rom of choice... Nice work jaybob on a job will done and a million thanks to you...

Use the SIM card from your phone when you do try later! If this works, then this is fantastic news!
I saw it pop up too but when you try to call out it errors out with a 'voice calling not supported' message.
I wonder how to get past that. Do we need a different radio rom or something.. ?
It would be awesome to get this working.

Other than pre-release press shots, no one has shown a Tab 8.9 or 10.1 with working GSM calling capability. Chances are if it's ever going to be made to happen it will be by a developer who is probably a member of XDA and s/he will post either screen shots or video. Until then, it's safe to assume that no Tab other than the 7, 7+, and 7.7 will ever be able to make GSM calls. There's hope that ICS may change that but for now it is what it is. And unless someone does post proof that it's been made to happen take anything said with a grain of salt.
Amen, lets make this a sticky.

Hey ppl... well.. i just got my p7300 today and was more then embarassed tp find ou that it has no call functionality whatsoever after i torn the packaging apart at the shop. I just got a bit suspicious after i came home and my girlfriend told me that she could not reach me.
Long story short, i thought that i pass by @ xda to check the devs. Now ive seen that even around here nobody managed to get theor heads around it. Now that i have to use my old x10i i thought that it maybe is possible to somehow use the x10 as modem while using the p7300 as dialler.. maybe via bluetooth or sumthin like that>?!
Dont know if that would be usefull enough for others that a dev puts his head into it or if ot would not be way to complicated but thats on you to decide as i am no [email protected]

Where can I get this firmware? Can you gimme link?
My tab upgraded itself to honecomb, that was fine. Recently I decided I would flash to MIUI 4 and that was ok, except if I switched it off and plugged in a charger half a picture would appear and whilst it would charge and boot fine, if I unplugged it without switching it on, it would go very very flat indeed overnight.
So I tried to flash it to CM10.1 but booting just took me back to the recovery screen, so then I tried MIUI 5 but that gave a zip error- so then I flashed CM9 (can you tell that I dont really know what Im doing) by dropping the zip on the external sd and using the recovery screen to load it - and it works - in fact the cyanogen9 boot screen is so much more fun than a flickering 'samsung' - but - now the phone side isnt working. Oddly the phone can tell what networks are available but it can't connect to orange with the sim in.
(Also my tune in pro app can only load a handful of streams when all of them work on my note...)
So now what - can I flash a new modem to fix what I might have done to this one - or would the oft chanted mantra 'Restock to 2.3.3. Then flash overcome before flashing cm9' sort me out..... or....
The fact that your tab got upgraded to honeycomb means you probably don't have a P1000 tab.
This forum is for P1000 or all variants of the original Samsung Galaxy 7" tab
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Most def a GSM p1000 in fact. Maybbeeeee I meant gingerbread. Now I think about it upgrading to cm9 was probably hopeful too.
Hmm interesting. I am down as new on the forum despite joining 7 years ago....
If your IMEI isn't 35xxx, you have a bad or corrupted efs. Bad IMEI won't be able to join a network.
There is likely a backup folder in your internal or external SD card, and you need to pick the oldest one and replace your /efs with it, using root explorer.
If you don't have a backup, then you need the restocking dance....
I joined this forum since it was really talking about xda... Wonder how many current user remember what an xda is.

I had an XDA MINI S - but the XDAs were just before that when I was an IPAQ (but still missing my Psion s3a)
I remember when people laughed at you when you had an electronic pda.... but I digress.
I have taken the P1000 into overcome v4. No idea what I was doing so the explanations must have been utterly brilliant.
Modem is working again.
Shall I leave it alone now - or if I drop CM9 back on it will the phone part still work? Thing is...my internet radio app probably wont work as well as Im used to so perhaps I will stay as I am for a bit....
maybe...
Side story- call it a sig.... My XDA MINI S was actually the O2 XDA MINI S - and one day I lost it. In Chester. I got back to work not realising I had lost it., then people kept coming up to me 'did you get your phone back' ... blimy where my phone...I said....
Turns out, a Polish woman found it in the street in Chester. Because it had O2 on the front she took it to an O2 shop. The man in the shop got it going and called ALL my contacts asking them who I was... finally found my secretary who gave me their number so I went and picked it up. Everone I knew knew what I had done..before me! Now THATS technology for you.
#truestory
Do that with an eye-fone!
Haha. Yes I too owned a HP IPAQ before.
Quite a funny story you got there with the mini. Thanks for sharing.
About upgrade, now you had a working one, copy the /efs folder to a safe location.
And I recommend you try out AOKP JB by stimpz0r.
I think it is rock solid!
