Hi guys
Anyone updated their HTC Hub yet ?
I THink HTc has done a superb job with integrating, most of the apps in it and also including news feeds and stuff
I got 7 apps updated after mango update... Mostly HTC apps... Shows they were ready for mango which is good...
Didn't even bother looking at hub till seeing this thread... It does look much nicer and those weather animations look great...
amazing. it's a lot better than old version
Full customizable livetile would would be the cream on the cake...
i CAn't install htc hub 2.2 to my mango with error code:80070020
the updated htc hub looks great and better than the previous version....just loving it...

You might have to do a 'Factory RESET or HARD RESET' whatever its called.. I had problems with updating HTc apps and the reset solved them.

The new app doesn't work unless you are on the March 2011 NoDo update. So unless until the cooks release the NoDo update for the HD2.

Chevron is not required with the nodo updates. Use with the latest rom updates. If you download it, you have to use Tom's XAP installer to install it.
Looks like you have never done this before?

That'll be right! I haven't unlocked my phone for developer access so I thought it was impossible to side load apps without this?
Where can I find the XAP installer?

Before you use any program, you are better to look thru all the posts. You will find Toms installer in one of the forms. Read and learn.

Thank you for the link, very much appreciated.
It mentions about unlocking with Chevron which from reading a few news sites MS have been bricking peoples phones when they have performed updates with Zune. It still a big issue?
I am not necessary looking to completely unlock the phone but definitely don't want to risk balls'ing the phone for homebrew apps. I have unbranded which I'm very satisfied with but I just want to be able to connect to my home wifi without broadcasting it. But seems I have to run the risk of playing with Chevron, unlocking, and registering as a dev with MS to simply load one app. I'll keep reading and consider my options.

Rather than go into the Marketplace, go straight to HTC Hub and it'll be on the front page. The 'Download' or 'Share' options don't appear though.
Ain't in there either, bit of a pain that..
troubles with the compass:
I installed latest (mango fit) version of skymap app. If I activate "point to sky" it told me, that there is no compass.
hd2 have a compass and the htc compass app works correctly.
do I make something wrong or is this a possible bug: compass api maybe doesn't work for third party apps or so ....
anybody experienced this problem or is there already a solution (can't find one)?
I have the same problem, after loading ISV Beta cleanup SkyMap, HTC Locations all report 'Sorry no compass'
I read in the Back to the future thread that it was suggested to do a hard reset and after doing this and reloading the above they still report no compass.
The HTC compass works but I understand this talks to the hardware directly and not via WP7
I have tried several hard resets just in case but still no good.
Any help anyone?
i have this issue with compass from 7720 RTM update... HTC Compass work but in applications which need compass say "not detected" (for example HTC Locations)... hard reset never helped with this (in RTM and final Mango)...
When you even try to install this app, it says:

Not only those with HTC but also Samsung, LG, etc.
If they forced the update before schedule, then yes because they only updated the OS but not the firmware. The updated OEM firmware comes through carrier update.
To return to our case, check the firmware version (Settings>About) and you'll see it's still 2250.21.40600.444, even if you installed the official update through Zune. Will we recieve the update notification from our carriers? I don't know, maybe not. I guess we have to wait until somebody (DF Team, XBmod, ?) finds a solution for this too.
I hope I understand things correctly and didn't talk bollocks...

Yes you understand fine, I was under the impression it was only HTC who were 'lazy' in issuing carrier updates but I dident know the others were the same.

Did you get the HTC post Mango update? (404443_2250.21.40502.401_oemupdate_release.cab.pks)
Because the HTC OEM update that comes after Mango contains those drivers if i understood things correctly.

Can anyone else do this on theirs?

I also saw those Twitter posts last night and could not get it to work on my IncS with the 2.3.5/Sense 3.0 ROM.
Is April fools different in Taiwan.

Yep the capability is there since 2.3.5 but HTC must've messed something up in the latest firmware...

The stock ROM does not work with this method. I had tried many times, maybe you have to wait until next OTA or you should download 3rd party apps or flash to new ROM

If you have root, add

Thanks for the tipp but I unlocked mine on friday last week Paul got his yesterday.
It does honestly turn me off a little bit. It does push me to my alternate choice due to the ease of everything on past devices there.
So noone is able to provide these apk files?
I wonder - could these apps be extracted from a custom rom, Mike's for example, and re-pushed to it? (Fixing permissions as well of course).
These should be unmodified in the roms.
Edit: I wonder where should they be pushed though, system/app or data/app?
I'm downloading ARHD right now to get these, but since I don't have the device yet I don't know where to push them and which permissions are needed to be set.
Edit2: I've opened a thread here to try and resolve it. Custom roms won't help since there are odex files needed as well.

You could pull the apks from the custom rom, reodex, and push to /system/app and then fix permissions
There are tools that odex/deodex for you
But those apps are not located natively in /system/app, they're located at data/preload.

G'day mate. Last night I was in your position. And I too was getting people telling me that the warnings were out there. I had to hunt around and finally found a way of getting the job done. I have uploaded the apps that will "disappear" onto my 4Shared account from where you are welcome to download them.
What I did was to root the One, connect to my PC, transfer these .apk files to the download folder on the One, allowed Unknown Sources and installed them all again. BTW, there quite a few more apps than the 4 common ones that people talk about. They are all there.

I've just tried to update my UK gear(v700xxuamii) via the gear manager, nothing doing. Saying I already have the latest firmware.
I'm about to try and flash it. Anyone flashed it yet?

Wonder how the updates work via the gear manager. Wonder if it knows I am not on a stock version of 4.3 and will therefore not download new firmware for the gear. In a similar vain to the updates on the note 2

Everything went on ok it is a non wipe update so did not loose anything the only thing i can see that is new after a quick look is in the settings there is now a Motions Option and in there you can change how the watch wakes up ie last viewed or clock or off and you can switch smart relay off

how did you do it via Odin. I tried and nothing happened is there a way to put the watch in download mode?
keep your finger on the button until watch says restarting then keep pressing the button fast until you get to the 3 options screen go to download mode then hit the start button for 3 secs and let go and it will go into download mode

Can you also change the motion? Or is the way it responds to motions improved? I hate the way it responds now. Sometimes I do the magical motion and it stays off. Seems totally random to me.
Gonna be keeping an eye on this update before I make the plunge.
